"Were we spotted" said Cheng. "I couldn't tell" said Cheng as the two men were speeding down one street after another. "Lets just get the hell out of here and worry about that later." The two men pushed the car to a relatively high speed. After all, since taking the bank the police presence in the area had doubled and they certainly did not want to cause too much attention to be given to them. Of course, that was already a lost cause as they quickly saw the Abwehr agents tailing them. Noticing they were being following, the two spies sped up hoping they could round a few corners and lose their pursuers. Taking the car to a higher speed, Cheng driving, they weaved in and out of traffic. A few times even tried passing through alleys that were very tight. Tong, grabbing his pistol, turned around in his seat and hung out the window firing at the agents following them. The Abwehr returned fire a few times. Turning into a very close quarter alley, Cheng misjudged its side and clipped his side mirror off taking the turn back into the street. Cars stopped at a light were no problem for Cheng either, as he'd hope the curve and drive on the sidewalk. This set their car hurling into small side walk stands and sometimes people, at least those who didn't jump out of the way in time. Having very little choice, the Abwehr were forced to follow. This chase through the streets would have continued on had the two spies not be finally caught by a traffic jam. Construction work on a nearby building forces a two land street into one, and had cars backed up several blocks. Though Cheng would just have well hoped the curb again and gotten around the jam, he could find the opportunity to do so. Instead they finally came to a halt, a few cars piling behind them and then finally came the Abwehr agents. "Damn" said Cheng, "We're going to have to bail." "Looks like it" said Tong. Looking around, he noticed a train station entrance. "There!" said Tong as he pointed, "we can lose them in there." Jumping out of the car, the two men moved quickly through the cars and then into the entrance of the train station. The Abwehr agents were quick to follow, their sidearms pulled out as they entered the building. The train station wasn't packed, but there were still a lot of civilians walking around. First entering the building, it was hard to pick out anyone in the crowd as Cheng and Tong made a good effort to blend into the crowd. The Abwehr decided to spread out and sniff out the two spies as it would probably be their best bet to find them. Cheng and Tong decided do to the same, both hoping they'd make it to the train platform just two levels up from their current location. Checking the screens above, both knew that a train was coming in to the station in less than five minutes and if they could lose the agents in the station, they could board the train and be long gone before anyone knew the different. Slowly sifting through the crowd, beads of sweat were on both Cheng and Tong's foreheads as they made their different approaches up to the second level of the station. Things were quiet, relatively speaking as the two spies were making good on blending with the crowds. Just then, the murmur of screams echoed through the train station hallway, followed by shots that rang out over the crowd. "Damn, he must have been spotted." said Cheng looking over in the direction of the shots. Not concerned for his partners safety, Cheng continued on to the third level. The train still had not made it yet and now that there was a fire fight on the second level, the train may get diverted. This was not a good situation now and Cheng knew it, sitting there and hearing more shots echoing from the second floor. Either he sat and waited for the train, hoping Tong would die with honor or go and help Tong. Decisions....Decisions.... OOC: Kinda short, sorry. Edited by NRE, Sep 11 2010, 01:14 PM.

OOC: No, you're fine man. No worries. IC: "Christ..." Runis said as the car sped down the numerous twists and turns that their targets had taken previously. "These guys mean business, that's for sure..." Lavaninus added, doing his best to keep his hands from slipping and sliding around on the steering wheel as he gripped it tightly and spun it one way and then another. Tosca sat in the back and stabilized himself as best he could, poking his head out of the backseat window in order to try and get a good shot off. The pitching of the two cars and the wind racing past his face made a clean shot nearly impossible, but Tosca was able to land a few close shots. In return, the Eastern Empire spies made the most of their abilities and ducked into places one would have nightmares trying to get out of. Still, Tosca and his men had little choice but to follow or risk losing their first good opportunity. Soon enough, Lady Luck began to smile upon Tosca and his men. At least it appeared that way at first, as the Eastern Empire spies were forced to abandon their vehicle and dart into a train station. However, as Tosca, Lavaninus, and Runis pursued it became apparent to the Porcuian Colonel that the cat-and-mouse game could just be beginning. The numerous terminals of the station, in addition to the different floors, rooms, and miniature lobbies, made a straightforward pursuit impossible. Tosca and his men split up, dispersing themselves throughout the large crowds that moved like the tides through the station. As Lavaninus and Runis kept moving, Tosca took a moment to gaze up at the large screen that detailed the departure and arrival of the trains. Spotting two possible options for his suspects, Tosca checked with his gut feeling and then bolted for the second floor. Pistol at the ready, Tosca proceeded slowly and purposefully, on the lookout for either of the faces he had seen before. Just then, his phone rang and severely startled him, making his heart skip a couple of beats. "Sir!" "Lau?!" Tosca barked back. "Sir, I was able to follow you in the car with the regular news feed, but you disappeared for a moment when you entered the station." "Lau, there isn't much time I've got to..." "Sir, I can see you. I've gained access to the station's video cameras and can see you clearly." "Beautiful! Now look ahead on the second floor and see if you can spot our guys. Hopefully they were stupid enough to stay together." "Stay on the line and I'll keep you updated." Tosca, cell phone pressed against his ear, pushed his way through the crowd of people that hung around the stairs between the first and second floors and found himself the midst of another large crowd. Struggling to stay in place and to hear if Lau was telling him anything, Tosca forcibly made his way to a nearby pillar. A few moments later, the floor cleared to a significant degree and Tosca could make out Lau shouting, "Here's there! Right there! 2 o' clock!" Tosca looked slightly to his right and caught the side of the face of one of the enemy spies. Tosca immediately pocketed his phone and raised his weapon, securing it with both hands. He called out to the enemy spy, who seemed alarmed at being discovered, and demanded he drop his weapon. Instead of complying, the spy began to move and shoot at Tosca, hitting him once near the shoulder. Tosca took cover behind the concrete pillar and was thankful that his bulletproof vest had managed to stop the bullet. Adrenaline pumped through his body and though he could hear his heart beating furiously, Tosca readied himself and stepped out from behind the pillar. The enemy spy had taken refuge behind another such pillar, two down from the one Tosca had hidden behind. He peaked around the pillar only to have a bullet take out a small piece of concrete near his face. Rustled, the enemy spy psychs himself up and moves out to confront his adversary. |

OOC: The Eastern Empire consider themselves "chinese" so if it makes it easier to say Chinese Spies then that's cool  IC: Tong couldn't believe he got found, he'd hoped that the density of the crowds were going to give him time to think. Checking his pistol he came from around his cover and began firing at Tosca as he laid behind cover. The room was filled with concrete pillars that formed two columns down the length of the room there were currently in. After getting two or so shots off Tong ducked behind another pillar as Tosca himself moved out from his cover to fire at Tong. Tong kept his head down as the shots were fired and then returned in kind while still behind the pillar. Scanning the room Tong spotted an exit door but it was several feet away. There were a few pillars between him and the door but to make a quick dart for the door would only lead his pursuer the same conclusion. Damn he thought to himself, I need to lose this guy or kill him. Checking the enemy's position sent to bullets fairly close to his own head. Moving back for a second, Tong again came from behind the pillar and fired his went at Tosca as he moved to yet another pillar. This time Tosca moved with him, the two exchanging fire at each other. Bullets were literally flying by each of the men as they moved cross the room. Finally coming to rest behind their respective pillars, Tong checked his ear. Apparently in the heat of the exchange a bullet had caught the edge of his ear and now it was bleeding. Shit, he's not a bad shot Tong thought to himself. The room was now filled with the dust of the cement and the walls from the bullets that the two men had fired. Both their hearts were racing, Adrenalin was high, and each man was realized that one wasn't coming out of the exchange alive. Checking his pistol Tong realized the worst thing any man in his position could...he was out of bullets. Tong got silent, closing his eyes only momentarily. The shooting had cleared the room leaving only the two men and aside from the outside noise, the room was silent. It was at that moment that he heard it...the click of the magazine being removed. Tosca had also spent his last few bullets in their heated exchange but unlike Tong, it was more likely he had another magazine on him. Tong knew he had no other choice as he opened his eyes and began to move. It all seemed to happen in slow-motion as Tong came from behind his pillar and with lightening like reflexes came before Tosca before he'd had the chance to reload his weapon. He'd never seen a man move like that as Tong can before him as if from no where and knocked his gun away. Startled but not out of the fight, Tosca replied with a hook to Tong's face. This forced Tong back a couple of steps but he recovered and now the two men were unarmed. Tosca's pistol, unloaded, had skidded across the room a several feet from where the two men were now standing. Tong was the first to respond the situation as the two men were now locked in a fight of fists. Tong entered the fight with confidence, given that he'd been trained in several forms of material arts. However, that confidence soon wavered when Tosca proved to Tong he could handle himself. He couldn't tell what form of fighting Tosca was displaying as he defended himself, he didn't believe it to be any eastern form but then again he didn't have a lot of time to think about it. The two men were athletically very fit individuals given their profession and seemed evenly matched. Tong was on the offensive for a few minutes before the roles were flipped and Tosca took the offensive. Struggling against each other for several more minutes until Tosca found himself against one of the pillars of the room. Tong believing he had his man, he when for a gab to the throat. Tosca, realizing his position ducked just in time to miss the hit. Tong's attack cracked the cement slightly, Tosca then came back up with an uppercut. Tong shuffled back a few steps, reposed himself and then again ready himself in front of Tosca as Tosca did the same. OOC2: Take away Porcu ^^ Edited by NRE, Sep 29 2010, 08:46 PM.

The two agents, bruised and bloodied by now and covered with a light coat of dust, locked eyes and charged. Crashing into each other, they quickly separated and worked to once again gain the upper hand. Tosca could call on the basic martial arts training the Abwehr gave him, as well as the boxing techniques he learned from his life-long hobby, to combat his formidable foe. In terms of brute strength, there was no comparison. Tosca would lose handily if the fight were drawn out much longer. Despite his better judgement, Tosca took a moment to search for his empty pistol. Just as he spotted it he absorbed a massive blow to his midsection, just below his bullet-proof vest. The Chinese spy had covered the distance of a couple of meters in lightning speed and landed a solid punch. Tosca reeled back in pain and managed to duck another punch as he took cover behind one of the concrete pillars. Quickly moving onto another pillar, Tosca tried to catch his breath. The station platform was completely empty, but it was also completely quiet. Tosca could only hear the sound of his breath as he strained to listen for movement from the Chinese spy. An intense period of silence followed and Tosca took the breather to go over a couple of scenarios in his mind, eventually coming to the conclusion that his best option was to grab and reload his pistol with the goal of taking the spy into custody. Choosing a moment he thought was good, Tosca bolted out from behind his pillar and in another couple of moments managed to swipe his pistol off from the ground and reload it. His adversary, however, was nowhere to be seen, not another sound had been heard from him. Growing nervous, Tosca kept his pistol at the ready and moved slowly out from the pillar he had been hiding behind. A light noise caught Tosca's attention and he turned to face it, his mind drawing the conclusion that it was the sound of the Chinese spy's boot as he stepped on a chuck of cement while moving out from behind another pillar. Suddenly, Tosca feels a sharp pain in his hands and wrists and his pistol drops to the ground in front of him. Turning to the opposite side from where he thought the origin of the noise was, Tosca's face is met by the massive fist of the enemy spy. Stunned, Tosca lies on the ground, looking up a moment later to find the Chinese spy with his pistol in hand pointed directly at him. Tosca clenches his fists and teeth, sure that the final moments of his life are fast approaching. A series of shots rings out and Tosca quickly finds himself next to the Chinese spy's limp body, blood slowly expanding on the tiled floor of the station as it pours out from two exit wounds in the back of his head. Tosca refocuses his attention to find Lavaninus and Runis running towards him. General statements aside, Tosca stands and then bends to pry his pistol from the warm fingers of the Chinese spy, asking his men where the other spy had gone. "We're not sure." Runis replies, gazing around the station platform in search of an escalator or stairs. "We need to get this other one alive." Tosca barks back, defensively trying to stave off the shock of his previous battle and near death. Moving together as a single unit, Tosca and his men climb up the stairs to the third floor, hoping that the other Chinese spy had not managed to escape either with a train or by doubling back through the station. |

Cheng had decided against going after Tong as it greatly increased the probability that the two would be caught. He remained on the third floor platform as the train slowly began to pull into the station. There was no one on the floor as the fight downstairs had cleared out the entire station itself. The trained slowed until it was completely at a stop and the doors opened to reveal dozens of people as they unloaded, apparently unaware at what was going on. Concealing his weapon he slowly made his way from behind his cement pillar and towards the train. Moving across the floor he slowly passed several people as they were moving off the train, apparently not noticing the emptiness of the station. A old woman passed Cheng, he hand bag tight in her hand as she moved slowly. Two young girls, apparently students giggling and gossiping as they passed him. A mother and her son, his large red balloon tied around his wrist so he wouldn't loose it. They all unloaded the train and Cheng moved near it. It was just as his first foot crossed the threshold of the doorway to the train that he heard it. "EVERYONE DOWN!" screamed Tosca as he and the other two agents came to the top of the stairs. Guns in hand, everyone fell to the floor leaving only Cheng and the three men standing. "Step out of the train and drop your weapon now, your accomplice it dead and we will shoot if you don't comply!" Cheng by now had already grab his gun and was now holding it behind him. He raised his hands, now level with his head and slowly turned around to face his pursuers. Again the order was give and Cheng did little but smile. "Your are worth opponent" said Cheng in his best English. Lowering himself, Cheng place his gun on the floor of the train. Tosca motioned for the other two to go get Cheng as he lowered himself to his knees. Knowing that this man was surely dangerous even without his weapon, they moved slowly towards him. They were just a few feet away from Cheng when the train's horn sounded and the doors began to close. "Appears the day is mine" said Cheng diving out of the way of the doors as they closed. Tosca and his men began to fire hoping to hit the man before the train fully closed. Doors now closed the train began to pull away, both agents now against the train, beating on it with no luck. On the floor of the train Cheng grabbed his gun and only stood back up once it was clear from the station. Checking his pockets he pulled out his cell phone and called Zhoa. "Tong is dead" he said, "I'm going to need to be picked up...." |

"Damnit!" Tosca yelled as the train pulled away and quickly zoomed off. Runis and Lavaninus stood with a look of defeat, their guns still raised. Glancing at each other momentarily, they turned to Colonel Tosca for directions. Tosca retired his pistol and pulled out his cellphone. Tosca already had a plan in mind while dialing Lau. "Lau." "Yes sir?" "Did you catch all of that?" "There's a short time delay but yes." "I need you to either stop that train or, barring that, tell me the next station." "I currently do not have the access to manually override the autopilot system of the train, but I'll contact the metro office and see if they can do it." "Give me the next station at least..." Tosca barked back, turning towards the stairs that lead back down to the first floor with Runis and Lavaninus in tow. "Ma On Shan Station." Lau replied after a few seconds delay, no doubt the time necessary to type in and search for the relevant information. "Good. Keep an eye on that train as best you can and see what you can do. Keep me informed." Tosca abruptly hung up his phone and whistled to Runis and Lavaninus, motioning to their car with his head. With a superficial idea of what Tosca's plan was, Runis and Lavaninus hopped in beside their commander and sped off in the same direction as their runaway spy. |

Cheng moved through the empty train until at last he came to the door that lead to the train's control room. Kicking at the glass until at last it broke he squeeze into the tiny room and then sat at the controls. Like much of today's technology, the controls of the train were mostly automated but a certainly level of control was kept linked to the computers of the central hub so that for any reason, someone could take manual control of it. This of course wouldn't work for Cheng and so he proceeded to disconnect the wireless transmitter that linked the train to the hub. After the train had been disconnect, Cheng took of the autopilot offline and proceeded to drive thr train manually. He dialed his phone again.... "I have control of the train.....yes, it appears the next station is Ma On Shan Station. What....yes I'm going to need a car......they'll be there waiting for me, good I'll look for them." Cheng was pleased that two goons would be waiting for him by the time he got to the station. He didn't always particularly enjoy having to rely on natives to get the job done but at the moment he didn't have many choices. The train ride was only a few minutes long. It seemed like it didn't take any time before the station came into view. Slowing the train as it came into the station, Cheng brought it to a complete stop and then opened the doors as if nothing were wrong. Climbing out of the control room, Cheng brought the wireless connection and the autopilot back online and then left the train. Now in the station he scanned the room, looking for his contacts. Two young men, no more than 19 or 20 slowly came up to him. "Zhoa sent us" they said quietly as they walked passed Cheng, "follow us." Trying hard not to be noticed, Cheng and the two young men slowly disappeared into the crowd as a sea of people slowly board the train. Entering a bathroom off the main platform, the men introduced themselves and handed Cheng a pistol. "We have a car around back" one of the young boys said. Cheng nodded, "We should hurry, I'm sure I'm being followed. We need to disappear now." Nodding in agreement the three left the bathroom and began climbing down the stairs towards a side exit from which the two young men had entered. Their car was waiting in a back lot and if they were lucky, they'd be gone before anyone knew they had arrived. |

OOC: Apologies for the delay. I've been absolutely swamped with schoolwork. This week was brutal. I actually couldn't wait to post something again. IC: "There!" The car containing Colonel Tosca and his men swerved into the adjacent lane before slowing and pulling into the main entrance of Ma On Shan Station. With Runis driving and Lavaninus keeping his eyes open for any suspicious activity or leading clues, Tosca pulled out his cell phone and dialed Lau. "Sir?" "We're here. What were you able to do?" "The train was shifted to manual control for a brief period of time, but seems to have been re-engaged to autopilot. I have not yet been able to get the feed of the cameras inside the station." "The train's arrived already, correct?" Tosca said, motioning with one hand for Runis and Lavaninus to follow him. A security guard approached the three men, their vehicle conveniently sitting in a 'no-parking zone', but was quickly rebuffed by the agents' identification. "Yes; the train has already taken off, but the suspect should still be within the station or nearby." "Alright." Tosca hung up his phone and pocked it, pulling out his pistol and relaying information to his two Abwehr colleagues. Lavaninus was ordered to check the large electronic board for possible trains the suspect could have taken in the brief time period between when his train arrived and now. He was then to notify the Hong Kong City Police and instruct them to relay teams to men to different stations. Runis was instructed to proceed through the station and make for the backside of the station to scan for the Chinese spy. Tosca, on the other hand, considered the possibility that the spy was still inside the station and simply hiding to buy time. As the three Porcuian agents split up, Tosca made for a nearby men's restroom, one tucked right beside a stairwell that lead up to the main platform. Just as Tosca readied himself and walked into the restroom, who should descend but the Chinese spy himself and two associates. The timing could not have been more fortunate for the spy, Tosca entering the restroom just before he made it down the stairs. Oblivious to the fact that essentially only a thin metal door currently separated the Porcuian Colonel from him, the Chinese agent opened the side exit door with his two companions in tow, exiting out into the afternoon sun. The two young men now took the lead in walking around the side of the station and towards the back where their vehicle was parked. In the restroom, Tosca waltzed past a man relieving himself at a urinal and bent over just enough to see if anyone was occupying the stalls. With no suggestion of the Chinese spy hiding in any of the stalls, Tosca turned to exit, drawing a look of confusion from the Chinese businessman as zipped up and washed his hands. Tosca found himself a moment later amid the bustle of the large station and tried hard to think of where else to look. With luck, Lavaninus had already narrowed down the train options and contacted the city police. Therefore, Tosca decided to reunite with Runis and hear if he had any news. Runis had run from the main entrance of the station to the smaller back entrance and now took a moment to catch his breath. He gazed out at the mass of people entering and exiting the station - all poor, ignorant fools. Noticing a nearby security guard, Runis approached and tried his best to ask if the security guard had seen anything of interest. Naturally, the guard's attention was engaged by Runis' heavy dress and bullet-proof vest, yet his Latin was horrendous and likewise so was Runis' Cantonese. Both gentlemen managed just a bit better with English, Runis finally understanding that the security guard's shift had just begun and he had yet to notice anything strange. Runis thanked the guard and turned to walk in the opposite direction, slightly frustrated with his performance but more concerned with the possibility that he had let the Chinese spy slip by. Unbeknownst to him, the Chinese spy and his two friends had just rounded the far corner of the station and were making their way back to their car. As Runis took the opportunity to relax a bit by leaning up against the station wall, still gazing out into the crowd of people moving to and fro, the Chinese spy instructed his friends to prepare the car and pull around quickly to pick him up. Without questioning, the two young men walked at a brisk pace to their parked car while the Chinese spy dissolved into a mass of people moving towards the back entrance of the train station. Meanwhile in Abwehr Headquarters in downtown Hong Kong, Lau had managed to access the security system of the station and was currently flipping through various camera views. He saw Lavaninus note the train schedule and dial the city police and he saw Tosca wandering around the station after had exited from the bathroom, slowly making his way to the back entrance where Runis currently was. Changing to a view where he could clearly see Runis leaning against the station wall, Lau nearly fell out of his chair when he saw the Chinese spy amid the group of people moving towards the entrance. Dialing for Runis with one computer, Lau ran a program on another computer that analyzed a face-shot that the camera had provided of the Chinese spy. "Yeah? What?" Runis replied, expecting Tosca on the other line. "Runis, I've found the spy!" Lau shouted, keeping his attention on the computer screen which showed the progress of the analysis, comparing the current camera shot to an earlier one taken at the previous train station. Runis straightened up and stood up on the balls of his feet, peering out at the parking lot with the idea that Lau had seen the spy trying to make a get away by car. The Chinese spy hesitated a moment when he saw Runis answer his phone, but he was relieved when Runis' gaze was directed at the parking lot. Looking out, Runis felt like he saw the Chinese spy and relayed that to Lau. Horrified, Lau yelled for Runis to stop, but it was too late. As Runis moved from the station wall and out towards the parking lot, the Chinese spy stepped out from the group of people making their way into the station and in a single attempt sent Runis to an early death. Lau could only watch the live footage from the office in the Abwehr HQ as Runis never saw his own death coming. The shot reverberated through the parking lot and into the station, drawing the attention of everyone outside and many people inside, including Tosca and Lavaninus, who by now had returned to the first floor of the station. The security guard posted outside shouted for the Chinese spy to drop his gun, but was taken out just as easily as Runis had been. The sound of screeching tires parted the crowd that had scattered in all directions after the first shot and as Tosca finally made his way outside he was greeted by a blank stare from the Chinese spy from inside the car as it sped away, in addition to the lifeless body of his comrade. Too stunned to exhibit emotion, Tosca stood for several moments in a state of pureness, his mind completely blank. The car that the Chinese spy got away in was found the next day, abandoned near a fishing dock, its passengers having escaped the reach of the city police and the Abwehr for the time being. |

"We have a problem" said Zhao as he stood before Cheng and Stephen. "We allowed our pride and our arrogance to overrule our dedication to this cause and because of that, Tong is dead." "But we still live to fight" said Stephen. "At the cost of a life that would have been used for so much more" said Zhao. It'd been three day since the bank job and the loss of Tong. Having retrieved Cheng before the situation became even more problematic Zhao along with Stephen and Cheng retreated to the basement of the tea house where they had not left since. Police activity had steadily rose not only in their own district but also in others meaning that the heat was surely on them but for now, the authorities were none the wiser as to who they were, why they were here, where they were operating from, and most importantly, what their next move was. Zhao did check and found out that the program in the baking computer system was not only still activated, but was working just as they intended it to. Obviously and as most of the news reports indicated, local authorities believed the job was nothing more than a bank robbery gone wrong. This was good and as long as the program wasn't found, "Porcu" in a few more days will be 500 million richer at the cost of hundreds of thousands of Hongkong people. It was just the information Zhao would need to truly raise the city off its feet against the European infiltrators. It really was the best news he had in the last couple of days. Moving across the rather cramped basement Zhao took a seat. Stephen got up and handed Zhao the morning paper he'd retrieved before coming down to the basement that morning. Both Stephen and Cheng knew Zhao was in a bad mood and had been since the bank job and Tong's death. Each day Stephen brought Zhao the paper he hoped something in it would spark Zhao's interest and they would be back in business once again. After all, at the moment all they were doing was sitting on their hands hoping the boss would finally speak. "Ah ha" said Zhao, having had the paper for only a few moments. "What is it?" asked Cheng. "Seems like tomorrow Hong Kong city officials are going to hold a small festival in honor of Porcu" "Why would they be doing that" asked Stephen. "If I had to guess" said Zhao, "its to get public support, especially now with what we've done. Before the people were more willing but we've got a good percentage sitting on the fence. Something like this, if done right, could tip the balance in Porcuian favor" "What are we going to do?" asked Cheng. "Tip it in our favor naturally" said Zhao, a devilish grin forming over his face. OOC: Didn't mean to be kinda short, been kinda zapped of inspiration. It'll be better come the weekend  |

The wind was strong and tossed Colonel Tosca's hair back and forth as he stood next to his men overlooking the stunningly beautiful coast of Hong Kong. Despite not being a clear day, the view from the perch where Tosca and the others had gathered was far. Tosca held a small jar in his hand. Lavaninus, Lau, and Glösse stood in place as Tosca stepped forward and opened the jar, slowly letting the dusty remains of Runis float away with the wind. Tosca let out a deep sigh, though not anger nor disappointment nor sadness filled his heart. Having only known Runis for a short period of time, Tosca could not definitively settle on which emotion he should feel. Turning back, Tosca keep his head down for another moment before raising it to look each of his men in the eyes. Their fight against this still hidden enemy was nowhere near finished and their silent conversations confirmed their determination to win. It was only midway on their return journey back into the city that Glösse, having recovered well so far, spoke first. "So...Lavaninus and I are going back into some of the districts near the port, right? I have a feeling that..." "No." Tosca replied bluntly. "But, there's plenty we can use to..." "We've gotten new orders." "Yeah? What's that?" "The city has had a festival of sorts planned for sometime in order to promote goodwill between Porcu and Hong Kong and the mayor and the city council do not want to seem weak in suddenly canceling it. We're to provide personal security to the mayor. Not surprisingly, Stockholm has yet to say whether one of their own will attend the festivities, considering what happened to their top man a few days ago." Glösse sat dejected. Lavaninus smiled weakly when he noticed Glösse almost pouting, turning his attention back to the stretches of metal and glass that characterized the modern downtown. Lau concentrated on driving the vehicle, but allowed his mind to stray occasionally to possible scenarios for the festival the next day. Arriving a few minutes later to Abwehr Headquarters, Tosca and his men retired to their private office space and went about preparing for the chaos they knew was going to come. OOC: Feel free to plan out and set up the festival. I kept this short so as to not constrain you. |

Festival preparations were in full swing, as the main streets of what was Hong Kong's most ancient and traditional district were quickly being transferred into a platform for what would be the greatest show of traditional festivities as well as those more accustom to Hong Kong's new partner and friend, Porcu. Lanterns were being placed on cords that were stretching from one older building to the next, fresh flowers were being placed in every pot and vase that dotted the street. In the office building of the city council and Mayor, officials were hard at work getting the final touches firmly cemented away, as the festival was to begin the very next day at 9am. This meant that, much like in the streets where the festival was to be held, the office building was a chaotic mess of one official going one way while trying not to bump into another official going the opposite direction. This too was the scene on the streets, as decoration officials and workers did their best to setup the final decorations while staying out of the way of the street performers hastily practicing their routines for the parade that would kick the whole festival off. Among all the hustle and bustle of the activity in the street, Stephen and Cheng who'd been able to rip off a couple of decoration worker's uniforms, were in the mix but hardly there with the intent of making the area more beautiful. A platform had been setup for an official speech that the Mayor was scheduled to give, following the parade. Apparently reaffirming the friendship Hong Kong and Porcu had as well as using the opportunity to remind the public of the great opportunities Hong Kong would have under their cooperation with the Republic. Naturally city and Porcuian security alike were keeping the area clear and only those cleared by security officials could set foot on the stage or within five feet of it. Naturally, this presented a problem to both Stephen and Cheng, who naturally would have found it much easier to setup so explosives to take the whole stage out. Sadly they had not the time to forge the paper necessary to follow through with that idea. However, as always, Zhao was quick to come up with an alternative scheme that was just as good. According to an outline of the day's events, the Mayor would give his speech with a slide-show would be given on two giant screens, showing future projects Hong Kong would be able to see through with the help of Porcu and Porcuian investments, such as a few new schools, hospitals, and parks. Zhao saw it as a propaganda ploy by the local government and felt that two could play that game. Thus he sent Stephen and Cheng to find and hack the central computer that would be handling the slide show. Luckily for the two of them, it wasn't as heavily guarded as the stage itself and getting access simply took a little skill in misdirection. What Cheng did, having gaining access to the computer, was plant a hidden subroutine in the program that Zhao could activate remotely. Neither, Cheng nor Stephen knew the contents of the actual program, only that Zhao had worked on it all night. When they were finished, the two of them quickly slipped out the same way they'd entered and soon became lost within the sea of officials, volunteers, and other workers prepare for the events for tomorrow. |

Glösse sat beside Lau as the two lay in their team's command center in Abwehr HQ. Computer monitors surrounding them, Glösse wondered just how Lau was able to do it for hours on end - the light was almost mesmerizing, but dangerously so. As Lau shifted views from one security camera to another, Glösse was put in charge of coordinating operations with the city police. Runis' death had grabbed the attention of the local security forces and now the police were more open and cooperative than ever. It would be needed. Across town, amid the packed streets and the bustle and commotion of thousands of people wandering around, Lavaninus and Tosca did their best to blend in with the crowd. Keeping communication to a minimum, as they had to speak into small microphones tucked inside a jacket they were wearing, the two agents could not see anything suspicious. The last bits of the parade had come and gone and Tosca took a sigh of relief, thankful that nothing had occurred that would threaten the lives of those innocents enjoying themselves. "Nothing looks out of the ordinary..." Lavaninus said into his microphone. "Lau...Glösse...Have you seen anything?" Tosca asked. "No, nothing." Lau responds, his eyes still shifting from one computer monitor to another. "Though, I'd start paying particular attention now..." Just then, the music that had been softly playing, filling the packed streets full of inhabitants and tourists alike, changed and one's attention was drawn to a central platform that sat in a large opening. From the crowd, the Mayor himself was seen to the stage and was joined by another individual, white and therefore a Porcuian most likely. "Welcome and good day to all!" the Mayor bellowed in Cantonese. "Today is a most joyous day, one that will..." As the mayor worked his magic, Lau and Glösse eagerly scanned their screens for any trouble. City police had been unable to uncover anything new prior to the festivities and despite Glösse's present questioning were not able to spot anything unusual. Tosca's nervousness grew as two huge projection screens were quickly assembled beside the stage, the Porcuian now taking the opportunity to speak. Stockholm had decided at the very last minute to sent the Ambassador himself to accompany the Mayor and had not gotten word to the Abwehr before the festivities. Innocently enough, a slide show began to be projected onto the screens, its images clearly viewable even from afar. The excited glow on the faces of those gathered in the streets was constant for the first few minutes, but would not stay that way and would change drastically for the worse soon enough. |

Hoping to reach the maximum amount of people possible, the festival had also made it to television, being aired by every major local station in the area as well as a few regional stations as well. Zhao and the others watched form the comfort of the basement from which they worked as the parade came to a close and the attention of the cameras came upon the stage. "Look at the pompous, arrogant, fat man" said Zhao as he pointed to the Mayor. "So easily he sells out his fellow man for an easy buck. Your reign is coming to an end soon enough little man." Neither Stephen or Cheng knew exactly what Zhao had planned for the festival but they'd done as he'd requested and planted the program in the central computer. Motioning for one of the two men to hand him his laptop, Zhao opened it and began effortlessly playing across the keyboard. It only took him a few minutes to boot up the program and after typing in a code Zhao needed only to press enter for the program to begin. "Now we shall see the true voice of the people" said Zhao. "May their wrath be more mighty than and professional army." With that Zhao pressed entered and all three men watched as the scene unfolded before them. The big screens behind the stage went blank at first, then static came over it. The Mayor, Ambassador, the crowd, and especially the technicians were confused. Scrambling to figure out what was going on the techs went straight to the computer but found that they could not do anything as the system was frozen. Finally after only a few minutes of static the screen came back up but instead of the previous slideshow there was only a symbol, a dragon symbol, the same symbol that was being used by the Society of Lóng whom had claimed almost all of the responsibility to the recent troubles in Hong Kong. Visible to everyone, the entire crowd watched and listened as a masked voice came across the speaker system. "People of Hong Kong, great Chinese natives of this great Asia, listen for I know the truth! There is a snake that has infiltrated our society, a snake that now seeks to slowly tighten its grip and suffocate us under oppression, forced servitude, and imperialism that has been disguised as friendship. The invaders have come from the west, they have bought the cooperation of your so-called leaders, and have nestled themselves in a cradle of power. The Mayor, the City Council, all those who were elected by the people to serve the will of the people have been bought by foreign money to serve new masters, the Porcu! They've come here in the name of peace but their intentions are far from this! They have created an illusion to deceive, you, they call themselves investors of the people, using their money to improve your lives but while they've given you money with their right hand, they've picked your wallets with the left." At this moment the screen changed, banking records were now clearly visible to everyone who was in eye shot of the screens, including the television cameras. The records clearly spelled out an elaborate embezzlement scheme where local bank accounts were being slowly sapped of their assets and being funneled to an Porcuian account. The names on this account were highlighted and as this part of the documents flashed across the screens, these names were enlarged. Though most were Porcuian names, officials within the greater government and officials working within Kong Kong itself, there were also the name of several Hong Kong officials including the mayor. "Time has been their greatest ally and your complacency has only aided them. It is time Hong Kong that you open your eyes and see what it happening to your people. Every day a flag of Hong Kong falls so that a Porcuian flag may rise. More and more Porcuian shops open, closing Hong Kong shops. Soon the poorest of our people will have no more money in their bank accounts, forcing them to live off the Porcuian overlords just as they've designed their master plan. They wish to make us their slaves but we are a greater people then this. IT IS TIME WE RISE AND TAKE BACK HONG KONG BEFORE THERE IS NO LONGER A HONG KONG TO TAKE! RISE GREAT DRAGON OF THE EAST, RISE AND TURN TO YOUR ANCESTRAL GLORY!" Most of the people in the crowd never got to the last part of the recording, they'd seen enough far before the last words came over the speakers. Outraged by the documents they saw, the banking records, the people started throwing things on stage. The Mayor was hit with a small rock, forcing blood to come pouring down his forehead. This forced the police to begin working themselves against the crowds, pushing them further from the stage and out of the throwing distance of the stage. This only enraged the crowds more and soon a fight broke out between a young man and an officer. From two it grew to four people, then six, then before anyone knew it the entire crowd was fighting against the local police who were trying desperately to contain the situation. Desperately outnumbered, it was all the police could do to get the mayor was had been injured along with the Porcuian Ambassador out of the area. Armed with anything they could find, the crowd was beginning the overpower the police barricades due to sheer numbers. It was utter chaos and Zhao, nestled comfortably in his front-row seat in the basement of the teashop smiled wildly as he saw it all unfold before his very eyes. |

"Fuck this..." Tosca said under his breath as he tried not to get separated from Lavaninus. The ground swell of anger continued to build and it spread like a wildfire through the crowded streets and shops that lined them. Realizing that both he and Lavaninus were donning bullet proof vests with the crest of the city of Hong Kong across it, Tosca yelled at his comrade to take off the vest and move away from the area. "All it takes is one asshole to see us and get the wrong idea...I think moving down a couple of block would be better." Tosca yelled. Lavaninus nodded and quickly took off his vest with the dangerous identifying features and began to push through the mass of people crowded in the street. Tosca was right behind him, holding onto a belt loop of his pants, and knew that things were going to get much worse when canisters of tear gas flew over his head. Following Lavaninus' lead, Tosca was able to find a moment and an area that was quiet enough to call headquarters. "Lau...Glösse..." "Yes, sir?" Lau replied. "What's going on Colonel? Looks like the party is just getting started." Glösse jokingly added. "Can you shut that projector off?" Tosca asked. "The presentation has ended, but it wouldn't make a difference in any case." Lau replied. "Much of the crowd is in a frenzy and the police don't seem capable of holding on for too much longer." "Is there any way to trace the source?" Tosca said, continuing on down the street with Lavaninus as both did not wish to get caught up in anything else. "It's possible, but it will take a little time." Lau said. "The mayor and the ambassador have been escorted away from the area and are safe for now." Glösse added. "Ok, keep at it you two." Tosca hangs up and puts away his phone, turning to Lavaninus and motioning with his hand. Both men step off to the side of the street, the chaos brewing only a couple of blocks away from them slowly beginning to spread, and step into a teashop. Lavaninus asks if Lau or Glösse had managed to make any progress. "No. This Society of Lóng...Do we know anything about it?" "Not really. There's no record of it being mentioned before than a few weeks ago when all this chaos began." "What about the prisons?" "Nothing, I'm afraid. Graffiti art hasn't used that name and no prisoner has a tattoo that matches the dragon that flashed on the projector screen." The two men give their orders to a teashop worker and ponder about the possibilities. Until Lau could find something useful, the two men were stuck in the same spot as usual: with little to nothing to go on. |

The Rioting on the streets went on for hours and by the end of the day had spread to an area of about a 6 block radius. More and more police officers, dressed in full riot gear, used every available tool in their arsenal to put down the mobs. When peace was finally restored, it was fragile one that had cost the lives of about five officers. Over twenty civilians had been killed, about 50 were wounded and had to be rushed to every available hospital. It was a utter mess and while a peace had been restored for that coming night, by dawn the problems of the government had returned. Those who had survived the riots and escaped arrest had all gone home and began calculating for the next day. Using every available social media of the era, rioters began gathering more and more followers. Before dawn ever came an invisible army had risen and by dawn, it was ready to strike. The targets of the new rage was everything foreign, from shops that carried foreign products to apartments and hotels that were known housing to foreigners, especially Europeans. It was a madness that the police had desperately tried to prepare for overnight and while they held the upper hand as far as weapons and equipment were concerned, they were deadly outnumbered when it came to personnel. With few options of recourse of their own, curfews and other measures were quickly implemented by the government and even more quickly ignored by the citizens. This chaos, while a managed and calculated one, was threatening to bring Hong Kong to its knees if it couldn't be brought under control and the people made satisfied. With all the chaos erupting around them, Stephen and Cheng thought it a bit odd that the orchestrator of it all wasn't glued to his seat in front of the TV, watching his masterpiece unfold. While Zhao was very pleased with himself, it wasn't enough. There was one final thing he had to do to make sure his mission in Hong Kong was a success. The rail gun which the Porcuians had promised the Hong Kong people was already under construction. While in the basic foundation stage of the construction project, much of the components that would eventually make the gun and the support facility that would power and control it was already in the country. Zhao had to make sure those component and supplies were destroy and that any information on the design of the weapon was taken by himself and brought back to Beijing. To that end he'd already acquired the bodies of a few dead Hong Kong police officer, or more precises, their uniforms. He'd use them to get himself, Cheng, Stephen and a few others onto the construction site. Their primary target was of course setting the proper charges to destroy the site and all the building material they can find. Zhao himself, would use his time to access whatever material on the gun is available to him. Confident that the builders must have schematics, Zhao fully believes that he'll find what he's looking for. This would be the first mission where he'd allow Stephen to go with them and while he was a bit concerned over the boys skills, he knew the boy had a fighter's spirit and wouldn't let him down. Now all that remained was waiting for the right time, the right moment when the chaos in the streets had Hong Kong occupied, to make their move. |

A couple of days had passed since the initial round of riots had broken out and engulfed a portion of the city. Police had been dispatched in large groups across the areas where protests continued throughout the day and even on through the night. Hundreds of individuals were questioned on the spot and because of a number of police casualties there was no mercy against those civilians itching for a fight. Across the city on the 22nd floor of the Abwehr Headquarters, Colonel Tosca and his men were hard at work trying to piece together anything they could. "Anything, Lau?" "Nope." Tosca stood at the far end of the office space and gazed out at the city surrounding him. Just as groups of city police could be seen walking the streets and just as the Police Headquarters was running at full tilt, security around the Porcuian embassy had been stepped up considerably and the Abwehr was running at full steam. Leaving no stone unturned, the Abwehr jumped on any possible lead, though quite often this left them with little more than an embarrassed crew. "Huh...I didn't see this before." Lau said quizzically. "What?" Tosca replied, drawing the attention of Glösse and Lavaninus who were also there. "The police have just officially submitted a report that two officers were found dead and stripped naked, but it says here that they died the day before yesterday." "With all the shit that's going on, I'm not surprised it took them a couple of days to file a simple report..." Lavaninus shrugged. "It's not that." Lau said. "Those two officers were apparently assigned as part of a small unit to oversee and help maintain security for the railgun defensive fortification and that's..." Before Lau could finish his sentence, Tosca's mind was already narrowing down on a few different possibilities, all of which were not attractive. "They have security clearance to the various facilities, don't they?" Tosca asked, his hand stroking his chin. "Oh, wow...Yeah. Yes, they do." Lau replied after a short burst of typing keys. "And when does their shift begin?" "Exactly at nine o'clock PM." "What!? Nine?" Glösse barked. "What's the matter?" Lavaninus asked. "Aren't protesters calling for a massive demonstration tonight at around nine?" "Whether or not they are is irrelevant. I don't like this development one bit. I'll go straight to work getting us access to the railgun fortification and facilities and I'll need you guys to continue searching for whatever you can find." Tosca declared. "I'll look through the film from the security cameras. Maybe the police have something in their database we can use to compare against the guys that show up in those cameras in the train stations." Lau responded. "Right. Lavaninus and Glösse, see what you can dig up from the police. Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will have taken note of a couple of weird strangers. We'll need to regroup early this evening if we want to be ready for these guys at the railgun facilities by nine." |

Zhao was pretty pleased with himself as he adjusted the tie to his uniform. It certainly wasn't the uniform of an imperial officer in the Eastern Empire, but it didn't look bad on him either. He hadn't much thought about if before, but standing before the mirror he soon found himself dreaming about the rank that Prince Yu would bestow upon him for the destruction the Porcuian defense of Hong Kong and the intelligence on their weapon that he'd bring back to the Empire. Surely the prince would bestow upon him a great rank, which would be great honor for his family and equally, great power an influence within the government Prince Yu was building. Bringing himself back to reality, he stepped away from the mirror to see how the other men were doing. Cheng and Stephen looked equally convincing as well as the other two men that Zhao had recruited for the mission. Straightening one of their ties as he passed the last man to make sure their uniform was up to par within his own, Zhao then moved on to a table. There he picked up one of the small explosives that the men would be bringing with them for the job. Each one by themselves weren't entirely impressive but detonated in sequence with the others and it would be more than enough to take out whatever was already constructed on the weapon site. Passing it around to each man, Zhoa explained the parts of the bomb to the men. He made sure to stress how to apply the bomb and then arm it. Zhao himself would carry the remote detonator as well as the backup detonator. Once he was confident each man understood his job, Zhao packed up the bombs and then handed out the firearms. He was a bit nervous giving Stephen a weapon as the kid hadn't be as trained with a weapon as Zhao would have liked. Then again very few in the world were trained like the men of the Eastern Empire. Small, the bombs were actually package within tin cans labeled as food and each man would take in a bomb in his "lunch box." With everything ready the men left the safety of the teahouse basement and emerged in the alley behind the tea house. Loading into a white van, Cheng took the wheel as the rest took their seats. "There is no great rush" said Zhao as he looked at his watch. "I predict that the roads on our journey will be clear within a matter of minutes so please, take your time." |

"It's definitely gotta be whoever the hell is behind all of this." Glösse replied with a tone of certainty. "Certainly seems that way, doesn't it?" Lau said without removing his eyes from the bright screen in front of him. "Well, we should definitely forward this to Colonel Tosca." "I'll get right on that. How long before we've got the feed from the different facilities?" "Shouldn't be too much longer." ... A car slowly made its way out of the city and up into the surrounding hills, the shimmer of lights from the city below hardly ever fading completely even through thick tree and brush cover. The two men inside donned serious expressions on their faces and were protected by the latest in bulletproof vests, a number of different armaments lay spread across the back seat. Eventually nearing the complex and sprawling support structures and facilities that hosted Hong Kong's best source of defense, the two men guided their car a bit further ahead and came to a stop well out of sight. Receiving an introductory tone for an incoming audio message, Colonel Tosca focused his attention to Lau's voice that came on a second later. The Abwehr officer diligently working back in headquarters downtown explained to his superior how two more policemen had turned up dead, their bodies found naked and their uniforms apparently stolen. Tosca now became convinced that a single, great move was going to be attempted by his still unknown enemy and became all the more determined to stop it and bring all this to a close. Motioning to Lavaninus, Tosca positioned himself in some shrubbery that overlooked one of the main support facilities that stood just before the actual complex where the massive railgun was being put together. "We've got approximately an hour before the shift of those we're expecting starts and I don't think they'd risk coming much beforehand, so I want you to get in position somewhere by the complex." "How do you think they'll go about this? Sir, what the hell should I expect?" "Expect the worse, Lavaninus. Stay focused and never let yourself doubt the importance of this operation. Now, my guess would be that they'll arrive a few minutes early or just on time in order to relieve the officers that are currently stationed here and supervising the complex and these various support facilities. I'd guess that they'll try and overpower them as soon as they arrive." "Are the police currently stationed here aware of the situation?" "They've been informed, yes, and Lau went threw great pains to make sure the information couldn't be intercepted." "Hopefully, those fuckers that think they'll catch us by surprise will find things turned around against them." "Right. Now, get to your position and stay quiet and hidden. Only once we're sure of things will we jump in." |

The sun was setting across the skyline of Hong Kong as the van was approaching the construction site. Looking at his watch, Zhao turned on the radio to one of the local news stations Riots have erupted in downtown Hong Kong as protestors rushed a prominent hotel currently housing many European investors and other foreign tourists. Hong Kong security forces have been called out in full force to end the current violence and secure to safety of those in the hotel... the man over the radio reported. Zhao smiled to himself as the information came over the radio and the gates of the facility were now in view. Parking in the lot just outside the facility, Zhao made one final look over the rest of the men to make sure they all looked as legitimate as possible. Then men soon stepped out of the van and began walking toward the gate. Coming up to the guard house, Zhao flashed his badge, as did the others in the group. "Ah, here to relieve C shift" said the elderly gentleman at the gate. "Yeah that's right" said Zhao. Looking them over, the elderly man soon pointed out Stephen as he was most obviously the youngest in the group. "Kinda young for a badge don't you think?" "I'm old enough" Stephen snapped defensively. "Eh don't worry about him, he may be a rookie but he's ready for the work" Zhao soon responded in the cool tone. Scanning the old man's face, he was somewhat worried that Stephen's remark may have just cost them the operation. Stone faced for a short while, the elderly man soon smile "ah heck I'm just messing with you" he said with a laugh. "We all had to start somewhere, good to have on the force. B shirt has been waiting in the cafeteria for you all to arrive, I'll phone them and tell them they can officially clock out." With that the elderly man went back to his booth and have the gate opened. Walking through the gate, it soon closed behind them. Glancing back at the old man who was now on the phone, his somewhat stuttering mannerism made it hard for Zhao to read his lips. Cheng, watching Zhao as they walked could tell something was up with the boss. Wondering closer to them as the group of men walked across the yard of the facility, Cheng whispered "What's up?" "I can't say for sure" said Zhao, "but I have a feeling something is up." "You think we've already been discovered?" "I don't think so, at least not entirely." said Zhao. "Still, I'm not confident that the old man bought us. Lets just get those damn explosives in place and get out." "Your orders sir" Crossing the yard and soon rounding a corner, the group soon found themselves within a small blind spot as far as security camera at the facility went. Huddling together and making sure no one was around Zhao spit out the orders. "Alright, Stephen and Cheng will take the supply yard and setup their charges there. You two will take the powerhouse, that should double the explosive power of the two charges so that area is critical to our success. I'm going alone to the control bunker with my charge.." Everyone then looked down at their wrist and the watches on it, all of whom had been synchronized by Zhao before they left. "We meet back here in 20 minutes tops, if you're not here by the time I get back you're getting left and your survival is up to you." Everyone shook in agreement and one by one the men left in opposite directions. Zhao soon found himself entering one of the closer building to his previous location and walking down a long hallway. Note entirely sure where the control room was, he believed if he was going to find any information on the weapon it would be there. |

"Lavanius. Status report." Tosca whispered into his com. "A small group of officers just arrived, but I couldn't get a good visual. The number seems to be more than what we were expecting though." "Don't be fooled. Just because we only ran into two guys before doesn't mean that they haven't gotten more people on this assignment." Tosca replied. "Lau, what about you? Anything from the cameras?" "No boss." came the reply from Abwehr HQ in downtown Hong Kong. "The scene inside is calm and peaceful right now. But in any case, it's going to be difficult to get a good facial read since all of these reliefs are wearing their police caps." From inside the Abwehr HQ, Lau was seated, as always, directly in front of an array of computer screens, each glowing brightly and humming peacefully. Glösse had decided his eyes needed a break from the mesmerizing light of the computers and walked over to the windows. Below him was a stream of protestors and police and while this section of protestors were relatively well-behaved, Glösse could feel the tension rising to its boiling point. Elsewhere in the city, violence had erupted and blood spilled, but security and police forces seemed to have everything more or less under control. Hearing only Lau's responses to Tosca, Glösse turned back from the window. "Doesn't that seem a little strange to you?" "Huh?" Lau barked. "I said, doesn't that seem a little strange to you? The fact that they kept their caps on after they entered?" ... Inside the cafeteria of the main facility where those officers designated to watch and protect the complex and other facilities gathered, those officers who were supposed to be relieved began to wonder where their replacements were. They spoke to themselves, bouncing back ideas from one to another, and eventually the elderly officer came back to join them. "Hey, didn't you say our replacements were here?" one officer asked the elderly gentleman. "Yeah...Why? They're not here yet?" So unlike normal, so different from standard protocol, the officers felt they knew what was going on. Quickly jumping from their seats, the officers checked their pistols and teamed up into three groups of two before separating. ... "Sir!" "What is it Lau?" Tosca replied. "Seems like our guys have indeed broken into the main facility at the very least. The good officers inside just bolted from the cafeteria with guns in hand." "Roger that. Remember that you and Glösse are our eyes, Lau. Don't let me down. Lavaninus!" "Aye, sir! I copy and am moving into the complex now." "Keep your eyes open and make sure you don't kill our friends in there. Use the codeword to clear a good officer from a bad one." "Roger that." |

Stephen and Cheng had moved quickly across the complex to the supply yard where the various steel beams and other support structures had been assembly and ready to be used in the construction of the support base for the weapon. They moved relatively slowly once in the region where they needed to be to ensure they didn't rise any suspicions from those workers in the area. Tipping their hats to a few men as they passed by, they noticed a rather large cluster of materials near the center of the yard. The Materials would provide a good cover for the bombs and so Cheng had Stephen, who himself was a smaller build than Cheng, to squeeze through and set the explosives. Stephen complied and moved in between two large beams and set the explosives. Just as he was coming out another yard worker spoke to them. "Hey what are you doing over there?" Cheng, thinking quickly spoke first. "We thought we heard something in there, turns out to just be a cat." The man didn't speak at first and Stephen began to worry. "Yeah I've heard there's a band of strays running around here" said the man finally, to the relief of Stephen. "Well you guys have a good shift." "You too" said Cheng as he and Stephen began to move away. Across the complex, the two men in the powerhouse were just finishing setting their own charges. They'd been relatively luckily, as they'd passed no one since entering the building. They hoped that luck would continue after the large charge was set and they began moving towards the door. Just then two workers came into the area and, being surprised to find the two men there, were quick to ask questions. "What are you two doing here?" "Just checking the place out" said one of the men. "Checking what out, this is a restricted area, only workers are allowed in here." said the man with authority. "Whose your supervisor?" Knowing they couldn't fool the men, they pulled out their pistols and open fire. They hit the first man practically point blank but his buddy was able to take cover behind a pipe. Not knowing what else to do, the two armed men ran out of the room and down the hall. After rushing over to his friend only the find him dead, the man rushed over to the wall and hit the alarm. Red lights began to flash down every hall and a siren sounded. "Shit" said Zhao as the lights in his hallway began to flash. He began moving more quickly now down the hallway until at last he found it, the room labeled control room. Opening the door he was disappointed to find three men, presumably the leaders of the construction project, around a center table. Taking no time to explain himself Zhao instead simply pulled out his pistol and executed them in record fashion. Closing and locking the door behind him, he went straight for the computer and hacked its security measure. Sifting through the files he found what he was looking for, the schematics of the station, and downloaded them on his portable drive. For good measure he also took several other files that looked of some importance before ejecting his drive and shooting the computer itself. So far everything had gone relatively according to plan. Now the problem was, getting out of the complex with what he'd come to get and detonating the charges. |

Even at this time, as standard operations were drawing to a close and only a skeleton crew prepared to pass another night amid the facilities and complex, there were plenty of people about - much to the dislike of Stephen, Cheng, and Zhao. Try as they might, it was just too improbable that one of the Chinese spies would not have been noticed. Now it was literally a race against the clock. "Lavaninus!" "Sir!" "Head inside the supply yard and make sure you check around for anything that's been planted! I'll make my way to the complex!" Tosca barked, clutching his pistol tightly and breaking into a dead spring towards the building. "Lau! Glösse!" "Aye, sir!?" "Colonel?!" "How's it looking up there?" "There's a lot of confusion, particularly among the workers and the police." "Radio the police officers one by one and tell them to get the hell out of there. If our targets haven't changed out of their police uniforms, they'll stick out pretty well." "Roger that." With that, Lavaninus and Colonel Tosca darted off in opposite directions - each hoping to draw this case to a victorious close soon enough. |

The men who'd been sent to the powerhouse never did make it out of the building when security officials stopped them and opened fire. Now the two men were pinned own near the entrance to the building, much to the dismay of Zhao who saw the situation from the window of an adjacent building as he himself made his way through the hallways of the complex. He hoped that the men, upon the tripping of the security alarm, all made the decision to head to the relay point they had previously decided on. Walking briskly through the hallway he was stopped once or twice by workers of the facility, individuals who were unfortunate enough to come across him. Their dead bodies now littered the complex in various pockets. Across the complex, Stephen and Cheng were also now moving more swiftly through the supply yard. Checking their watches, they knew that the timers on the devices were now ticking, meaning that no one in the facility had much time. With the alarm blaring, many of the workers were rushing out of the supply yard and other areas of the complex, fearing the worst. Stephen and Cheng hoped to get lost in the crowd and make it to the checkpoint without being detected. There was a fencing that separated the supply yard from the rest of the grounds. The opening of the fence was only large enough for a few people to get into at a time. By the time to two spies got to the fence, there was a rather large blob of workers now trying to get themselves through. Coming up to the back of the crowd, a man bumped Stephen's shoulder, excusing himself as he left the crowd, apparently headed towards the yard. "Hey" said Stephen turning to Cheng. "What do you suppose that guys doing? I mean everyone else is running out of here." "Damn" said Cheng as he looked down at his watch, "he must be security. If he finds that bomb, he could disarm it before it goes off." "What do you think we should do?" "You go on and get to the checkpoint" said Cheng. "I'll make sure no one finds the bomb." "But what about.." "We all signed up knowing we might not making home alive." said Cheng as he pulled out his own pistol and began running back toward the location of the bomb. Stephen did as he was told and made his way through the gate and then proceeded to the checkpoint. To his surprise and to his dismay, Stephen was the first man to reach the checkpoint. With the whole facility in somewhat chaos, Stephen didn't know whether or not to wait or to assume the others were dead and leave. He weighed the decision in his head for several minutes before deciding to leave. Just as he was about to round the corner and proceeded to one of the main exits, Zhao grabbed him by the arm. "Where is Cheng?" "He had a suspicion that a security official would make to the bomb, he choose to make sure he didn't" "I see, then lets assume we're all that's left" said Zhao. "You planted the bomb, this is good and I'm assuming the other team did as well. I got what I came for so its time that we left." Stephen gave a nod and the two of them proceeded towards one of the exits. While moving through the complex grounds as quickly as possible Zhao was quick to notice that he didn't see half as many security men as he'd seen when they first arrived on the grounds. A bit suspicious of the situation, Zhoa pulled Stephen into a small breeze way just behind a small supply shed. "We've got to get rid of these uniforms, time for plan B" he said as he began to strip. When the two of them emerged from behind the shed, they were in clothing quit similar to the kind most of the construction crew were wearing. All that was absent was their hard hats and Zhao figured they could claim they fell off when they darted for the exit when the alarm sounded. Moving as quickly as they could, the two men could see the exit that they'd been running towards, a back exit that was only be slightly used by the evacuation, most using the front and main entrance instead. Zhao figured there were would be problem in passing through this gate. Moving closer and close the two men froze in stride when words Zhao hoped they'd never hear came ringing into their ears. "Hey you two, stop right there....." |

Stamentent from Kingdom of Shuhan; minister for foreign relations The Hong Kong people should not fear the hand of foreigners. The round-eyed devils scare you. Fight for the freedom of your land and evicted those who just want to exploit you. The kingdom of Shuhan, as the legitimate successor to the empire of heaven, supports and sustains you. |

Official Statement in Response to Kingdom of Shuhan The city-state of Hong Kong thanks the Kingdom of Shuhan for its support, and hopes that an era of peace and prosperity will bloom across the region for our peoples to share together. ============================================= Colonel Tosca repeated his call, shouting at the two construction workers to halt for a moment. Quickly reaching them, Tosca appeared rather concerned for a moment but relaxed once noticing their uniforms. Zhao and Stephen, however, became immediately tense upon realizing that the figure beside them was a flesh and blood Porcuian and not suited as another security guard, but rather as what appeared like a special forces unit. "What are you guys doing out here? The protocol is to exit as a group out the main exit." Tosca said calmly. "Ah, sorry..." Stephen said in Mandarin, shuffling slowly away in the opposite direction with Zhao right behind him. Across the entire city of Hong Kong in Abwehr Headquarters, Lau nearly had a heart attack at hearing the subtle reply of the construction worker through a small microphone attached to Tosca's bullet-proof jacket. Jumping from his seat, and scaring Glösse in the process, Lau shouted into his microphone. Initially, the two Chinese spies thought they had escaped and had bought themselves additional time. Yet, for a second time, words Zhao hoped he'd never hear came ringing into his ears. Menacingly, and in a tone of voice very much different and more serious than before, Tosca commanded the two pseudo-construction workers to halt in their places. "Don't move!" Tosca yelled. Gun raised, steady, and ready, Tosca took a few steps towards the two men before him and waited for a response. Across the city, again in Abwehr HQ, Lau furiously flipped from one security camera inside and across the complex and adjacent facilities in rapid succession. Quite confused, Glösse took a moment and asked Lau exactly what was happening, and what had happened before. "We have them! We have them!" Lau muttered back. "Damnit Lau, what's happened!" "What is the official language of Hong Kong Glösse?" "Cantonese." "Such a simple mistake..." Lau replied under his breath, too faint for Glösse to hear and only making him more mad. "Lau!" "Mandarin, Glösse! Mandarin! One of them replied in Mandarin!" Finally it clicked for the other Abwehr officer. Spinning around in his chair, Glösse furiously typed away at his own computer, sending out notifications to the local city police and to other relevant agencies. Unfortunately for the two individuals stuck inside the office space downtown, the lives of their comrades were at stake and they could merely watch from afar as events continued to unfold. ... Lavaninus burst into the powerstation and quickly scanned the area before running behind a large set of crates for a moment to rest. Turning once to the same way he had entered to make sure he wasn't being followed, Lavaninus then focused his attention to the dimly lit area, filled and sprawling with masses of loud, heavy machinery. Moving swiftly, the Abwehr agent peeked behind one corner and then another. Frustration began to build in conjunction with anxiety as more time passed without anything resembling a bomb appeared. While searching in a narrow aisle surrounded by machinery on both side, the sound of footsteps was suddenly picked up by Lavaninus' ears and he squatted down in an instant to better hide himself. Having navigated through part of the large powerstation, Lavaninus slowly and carefully moved towards the end of the aisle in order to peek around the corner. Immediately suspicious of the individual present, he desperately hoped it was Tosca but dared not make himself known. |
