Magdeburg - a day of spring Posted Image The quiet Magdeburg had never been so animated. The annexation of Bavaria by the Holy Roman Empire had changed many things in Germany. he proclamation of Philip of Austria to assume the imperial crown had not been vain and empty. The Germans were agitated and restless wondered what was the fate of their nation. From medieval Germany was a country divided and fragmented that even the powerful House of Saxe-Coburg had managed to gather. But now all eyes were on Vienna and what was happening in Regensburg. For the first time in centuries the emperor had set foot in Germany. Many among the small states that were in the land of Goethe and Schiller, decided it was time to reunite the nation. What better perspective of this occasion? With the arrival of Bavaria in the empire, the doors were wide open. The initiative was started from Saxony. There, in Dresden, the heirs of the Saxe-Coburg, looked south and saw Vienna and its glittering palaces. Johan Von Saxe-Coburg fell in love at first sight the idea that suddenly flashed into his mind. Renovatio Imperii, was the first thought that had appeared on his head. The first thing I did was write the emperor Philip.
Sent the letter, he sent couriers in every city of Germany a messenger to summon all the heads of states at Magdeburg. Johan was also very proud of the choice of the city where he would open what he called the first true Reichstag IVth Reich. He chose the small Saxon town for the role they had played under Otto I of Saxony. Propulsive center of Christianity and capital of the Reich. Johan dreamed of this for the city. German leaders had arrived in dribs and drabs, the first Thuringia and Brandenburg, then as the news was echoed on television and in newspapers, even the old Saxony and Hannover. Soon there was a Reichstag in Magdeburg parallel to that of Vienna. And while they celebrate in an atmosphere of carefree drinking beer and eating sausages with sauerkraut, including masked parties, carnivals and plays, all that remained was to wait. Wait Philip, who had the title of Emperor of the Romans, did or said something. |

Vienna - Office of the Emperor "First we need to decide what to do," said Boka. Philip was more inclined to wait to act but now the situation was becoming very explosive. Not so in Vienna or Munich, as in Budapest and Magdeburg. Map of Germany dominated the large table of the study and were drawn boundaries of the new state, which for the time also included Hungary, who was born in the affirmative to the diet of the emperor. "They've gone a lot further," said Bela Kun, commander of the imperial secret service, "far ahead", he paused, "if your majesty will allow me, I think we should take some sort of decision before Johan von Saxe-Coburg, do everything in his head. " "I agree," said Fortune Filip ... Your Majesty, we can not wait even more, the alternative is a front trovardsi thing we can not control. "Philip sat in the chair, "What should I do to you? The news from Hungary are not good." Boka felt a pang in his heart, his own hometown that threatened secession "I read majesty." "Where Heider when you need it?" Philip asked angrily. "Where did you sent your majesty," replied respectfully Boka "in Rome to monitor the situation." "So," Philip ran, desperate, hand on face "I do not have a government, my foreign minister is to have tea with the Pope and a number of foreign countries is offering me the crown.'s All? Oh no !Oh I must add the secession of Hungary!", Philip laughed bitterly. Then again intervened Fortune "Your Majesty has demonstrated its ability to act firmly. if the Hungarians secede, patience. That affect you and the nation is able to grasp at the chance offered to your imperial majesty. Johan von Saxe-Coburg is writing, along with other German potentates, a constitution for this empire, will you be participating? or you just want to be crowned? ". Philip could not but agree "and sent to whom?" He asked. Boka sighed, "the only one that can be sent, Frau Fenec" |

Magdeburg - Rathuas Posted Image While in the square, was held the traditional market place on Monday, in the town hall of the city were held delicate talks on the constitution of the future empire. Johan looked at his watch in despair, were hours that he was talking about statutes applicable to nations that would have dissolved in the Reich. Most problematic were the delegates of the Republic of Braunswheig and the Principality of Lüneburg. The issue was the future powers granted to the states once they have become landers of the Reich. The Prince of Luneburg did not feel at all a subject of the emperor but his equal. "Why," said Ernst of Hanover, Prince of Luneburg "I call myself subject of the emperor? Is not my territory Luneburg a birthright?". Johan sighed, "it certainly is, but it is also true that as you can see from this document", passed them a copy of Diet of Worms "the emperor is superior to all the Dukes, Marquises and earls in the empire as he is on Bishops who have civil functions and mayors or consuls". "However," replied the president of Braunschweig, David Falken "Peace of Westphalia emperor requires respect for the rights of individual states." "We," Johan said, "We are not here to perpetuate a mistake, but to strengthen our nation, I do not think to know, Mr. President, that was the Peace of Westphalia to cut the first reich". Falken was about to say something when a young officer of the guard in the Free State of Anhalt. "Lord," whispered the Duke of Saxony "is a response from vienna. Johan stood up from his chair "Ladies and gentlemen," said "we have an answer by the emperor." The room fell silent mixture of hope and terror. All those who were there, had come to call Johan were true patriots, eager to see Germany resurgence after years of neglect. Many were not monarchists, indeed, many had pronounced republican sympathies, but saw the empire as a symbol of unity behind which gather. Many had believed that Philip would respond. But now in the hands of Johan Saxe-Coburg, was the letter of majesty, signed by Philip himself and sealed with red wax. |

Letter of Majesty. Philippus II°, Serenissimus Augustus a Deo Coronatus, Pacificus Magnus Imperator Romanorum To The people and the rulers of Germany. Hails Becoming aware of your decision to make us rulers of Germany, we felt obliged to take pen and paper and write. For a long time Germany is divided and weak. The imperial crown lie forgotten in the dust. Your zeal is all the more important, so is the disorder that afflicts our beloved land. With our benevolent eye has looked your majesty and your agreed gather in the ancient and significant Magdeburg. City, among many, has a special role in our history and our feelings. You have invited us, with a heartfelt letter to take on his shoulders the mantle of empire, vacant since immemorial time. You have urged us to take the sacred crown that encircled the head of our predecessors. scepter of command, the golden globe symbol of the Christian community and of our imperial power. Mostly we thought. The decision we made is irrevocable. Feeling that it is our duty, a sacred duty, entrusted by God, we accept the crown of Rex Teotonicorum And with pleasure and sense of duty that approach the sacred crown of Roman emperor. Magdeburg - Free state of Anhalt - Landtag(state diet) Posted Image The excitement for the letter from Philip had not calmed down in delegates. Now there were more speakers who discuss politics at taxpayers' expense, but the true founding fathers of a new empire. In a separate letter, Philip announced his arrival in Magdeburg, to receive the crown of King of the Germans, who then would lead to the imperial crown. But first he sent Mrs. Edwige Fenec, as plenipotentiary to discuss the details of the constitution, that someone already called Constitutio Magdeburgensis. The constitution had to be ready for the month of June, the date on which the future emperor was going to marry. Johan knew that time was pressing and that instead of balls and parties should have been put to work, and much, if they wanted to please Philip. Were many issues to discuss from what would happen once dissolved this imperial diet. And already can see the first clutches. Luneburg would not accept a democratic constitution, the future Anhalt instead wanted the Reichstag, the copy of the one working in Vienna. Much work certainly, but also the promise of a great result. Johan looked at the new day with a fresh eye the Assembly that would open the following morning. He was certain that the delegates of various nations had a new vision of their work. The wait for Frau Fenec began with her waiting for the great promises of the Reichstag in Magdeburg. |

Budapest - Parliament building Posted Image Hungary was without a government since the Bavarian annexation crisis. The attempt to replace the government of Magyar Guard with an alliance of Loyalistes and Liberals faild due to lack of a stable front. The result was months of chaos and disorder. Laszlo Petofi was the prime suspect of the government crisis for his endorsement to vote against Bavaria. In Austria was the most hated man in the days of Hitler, Hungary was a kind of national hero. The disparity of views was simple to explain. More Germans, Hungarians less. In an empire by hard ethnic Balance, commas could move the world. However, now we also put the Reichstag in Magdeburg. Petofi felt defeated. From his window he could see the Danube, but did not appreciate the spectacle of colorful vessels that crossed the river, the crowd poured in cafes along the banks. His mind was focused to find a solution to the impasse created by him. No solution seemed entirely appropriate to the task. Officially, Hungary was still part of the Reich, after all no one had dared to Budapest to give statements of any kind. Petofi nor the only perhaps to be eligible as prime minister in Hungary, let alone other government representatives, also because he remembered painfully, there was no government. The simplest option would remain in the empire. The most drastic secession. In the first case, the Hungarians, on the largest group, would become a minority. In the second case, nothing would prevent a war. If not among the empire and Hungary, among the Hungarians, Gypsies and Slovaks. The choice of Petofi was very simple, subjugation or war. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Magdeburg - Martin Hotel, suite of the Emperor delegation As for Frau Fenech, Hungary's fate could already be decided. As for her directly, her choice was already made. He maintained the only Austrian citizenship. Hungary, then, might also have to sink to hell. His arrival was celebrated in Berlin as a national event. And the train trip from there in Magdeburg was full of conventions, parties and bands playing the Kaiserhymne. Germany was at the feet of Philip, but it was his feet that were all prostrate. Although the emperor did not like her, and she knew it well, actually her loyalty to the dynasty could not be questioned and it was sincere. However, it was wrong to reconcile loyalty with political ambition? She thought not. And when would within two weeks, wrote the constitution of the empire, the emperor should have a ministry entrusted to you, if not the government. The empire that would be born from Magdeburg had about 50,000,000 inhabitants, twice the current. An area of about three times and a long stretch of coastline. Much is still left out, but time would help. Also industries, refineries and nuclear plants, would be a military power, civil and economic. The credit would belong to her alone. But there was to hurry, the Emperor had expressed his desire to crown the new queen with the title of Empress of Germany, the constitution would be prepared quickly. He took a deep breath. Johan Saxe-Coburg, the man who had dreamed all this was waiting in the lobby to escort the Landstag of Anhalt, where they began serious discussions. While descending the stairs with regal gait, there was strong thinking that Johan could have even dreamed of empire, but her hands would come true. |

Magdeburg - Landsrat As Johan had predicted, now that the emperor had spoken, work had become much more difficult. The discourses of Pan-German friendship, had now replaced, complex negotiations. Currently, the Reichstag was stuck on religion. Very thorny problem since the beginning of the empire in the Middle Ages. From the first bars of the long conference which opened in the morning, the Protestants had been absolutely unwilling to accept any such support in Rome. The Catholics were varied without any real position. "Sir," said a waiter at Johan, handing him a note "comes from the lady." Frau Fenec remained impassive listening and writing down everything they said. The first had been adversely affected by this woman, but now could not but think again. Many blind alleys were overcome thanks to his patience. Even the Austrian delegation, Prince von Liechtenstein, seemed to rise to the situation. Johan read the note. He said "The choice of church is not important for our soul, but for the imperial coronation." Wise words, but how to overcome the impasse? The delegate of the Duchy of Thuringia was talking about "Ladies and gentlemen of the Reichstag, Madame Fenec," he said, "In our state most of the population is decidedly Lutheran, as us, also Brandenburg, Pomerania, and most of Nieder Sachsen", paused "In the Middle Ages received the crown from the pope was important because, in addition to the emperor was the only other universal power. Today is not so, we live in a modern world and civil. secular What can count the blessing of a priest? Not just the popular will expressed in the Reichstag?". The argument was quite valid, Johan thought, but the delegate of Thuringia, had not yet finished talking, "Actually what you want to show with a Catholic coronation? That only one crowned by the pope can ascend the throne? But more than half the population is Lutheran, so you want to deny our allegiance? our allegiance to the imperial crown?". Questions that apply. But it seemed that the Catholic representatives were unable to answer. Personally Lutheran, Johan, felt compelled to respond. It took him four hours to develop an action plan. Eventually his idea seemed really brilliant. So when, after lunch, the Reichstag met yet, Johan was ready to give his version. "Ladies and gentlemen, Madame Fenec" he said "I listened with interest to the Thuringian our friend, Herr Nikolaus Von Siedow, heir to the throne of the duchy. I listened and I heard: We are all brothers, Lutheran and Catholic, it is unfair that only one party can claim the right to wear the crown the emperor. So here I am thinking: Article I: The German king was crowned by the Archbishop of his home state or according to his personal religion. However, in order to ascend to the office of the Roman Emperor, King of Germany to be crowned by the Pope who is the archbishop of Magdeburg. The first name of all Catholics, the second on behalf of Evangelicals People started to applaude, but Johan knew that was only the start of the struggle. Edited by Filo, May 20 2010, 10:57 AM.

Magdeburg - Landsrat Article I, was not passed. Johan was not sure what, or who, had covered up the vote, the rest was, in his opinion, the best compromise possible. In the hall of the Reichstag, dominated by an atmosphere of distrust. Delegates of the Protestant states of covertly watched the delegates of Catholics. An awkward silence, mixed with a certain coldness seemed to be the mood of the majority of the Reichstag. In fact, the vote was delayed for some time and work put into question the date fixed for two weeks by the emperor Philip. Only Frau Fenec seemed oblivious to the bad weather that blew in Magdeburg. Johan, who had heard the allegations from Thuringia, was a champion of reform, was prepared for this' action all night. "Ladies and Gentlemen, delegates Fenec Madame," began "with your vote you have undermined our first attempt to create an imperial constitution. I, however, and laid his hand on his chest are a very stubborn man, sometimes resemble a donkey", He tore the laughter in the Reichstag ""I want you to know that we are still working on the definition of Article just voted, but we replaced the first article, with a general proposition. Now i read it" In Nomine Domini et Filii sui Jesus Christi. As representatives of the German people, we gathered at the Reichstag, solemnly declare: By the grace of God, to sit his imperial majesty imperial leader, who will shepherd the German people. By the will of the people, that is expressed in this modest assembly, in the manner indicated by the constitution, legislative power is entrusted to the Reichstag, which will use under the supervision of the emperor. The Emperor and the Reichstag are therefore the governing body of the empire, which will support a court chosen by the population through the Reichstag, which administers the judiciary. The Emperor and the Reichstag undertake to maintain, with the help of the court, the German freedom of the peoples and states, as well as individual. Therefore undertake to defend freedom of expression, assembly, religion and conscience. The Empire recognizes these rights to all its citizens, without distinction of sex, race, politics or sexual orientation. Also guarantees the freedom of personal expression through participation in elections of all parties that the citizens will support. Even the Empire defends the right to publish any content, regardless of the character and leaves all the complaints to the private morality of the individual. When Johan finished reading, a thunderous applause broke out, actually had to compliment himself, had done a good job. The preamble was really good. That left him to vote in the Reichstag. Hoping that this time there were no hitches |

Magdeburg - Landsrat Until the Reichstag complete the voting session, delegates from various walks in the garden of Magdeburg Ladsrat. There were those who walked, those who drank coffee in the gazebo, or chat about this and that the shade of trees. Fenech and Von Saxe-Coburg were animatedly discussing the vote in progress. "If you do not even pass the preamble," Johan was saying "the situation could escalate, the spirit of the German states gathered here was the best, but two setbacks ... just when the Emperor asked us to conclude by two weeks could reduce the willingness of cooperation. " "I do not think," replied Frau Fenec "Your letter has awakened heartfelt patriotic sentiments in Austria, Philip will not allow that dialogue with Germany fail, and in any case, I'll work very hard to avoid an impasse ". Johan scratched his head "that I do not understand is that in the Reichstag, no one openly opposed. I do not understand. " Edwige would answer something but was interrupted by an employee in the Free State of Anhalt who whispered something to Johan. "Frau Fenec," he said "we are near to meet an important guest." She raised an eyebrow. "This is the Grand Duke of Bohemia, it seems on the borders and he wants to meet me." Johan did not notice the look of hard of Fenec, who saw his prestige as President of the temporary Reichstag seriously reduced. "Well", thought Fenech, "I can always use to my advantage this Grand Duke" What she knew of Bohemia? Once, some years before the founding of the empire, was part of the Dominion and was called Marslava. Then the war ended the monarchy had fallen. And the country divided. Bohemia was a rise in house Italian. the Aosta, who had assumed the throne with the title of Grand Dukes. The current ruler should be, if she was not wrong, Frederick º Aosta-Bohemia. It would have been interesting start dating. With an apology rose from the table and reached his office, starting to make plans for the future. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vernio, Grand Duchy of Tuscany, HRE Posted Image A ghostly silence dominated the building, a peak, to country cottage, perched on the side of a mountain. There was only the rustling of branches in the wind and the gurgling of a small fountain. The order was imperative, the laser should not be used if possible even firearms. Only crossbows and infrared goggles. A small light went on upstairs, passed the figure of a boy. The man nodded to the two other "must be him," he said. "There will be a woman," said another man. "He lit another light, maybe it was the bathroom. "Soon," said the third. They broke down the door with a kick, there were screams from upstairs. Broke down the door with a kick, there were screams from upstairs. "Soon Istavan" said a female voice "hied where you are". Istavan that had little more than sixteen, and that life was only a student, fell in the bathtub Meanwhile, the noises continued over the door. Monica Parma tried to defend hemself and the boy as best she could but was taken by surprise. One pulled a fist, throwing her to the ground. The bathroom door was broken off "your Apostolic Majesty," said one. Then they took him away. He could not understand what had happened to the woman fainted long before going out, perhaps it was fear, maybe a narcotic. |

Finally a success!. This was what all the delegates were thinking. Johan Von Saxe-Coburg, was the first to congratulate the assembly of the Reichstag. The prelude to the constitution which would have indicated the lines forward to continue working with the text of the basic law of the empire, was approved, also if only for a slight marging. However, the states in the Reichstag, has swear to obbey the vote, so no one could recriminate. Since Article I below. at least in the way that he had submitted had failed, had to rethink it. He had some ideas, but now there was to be addressing the question of Bohemia. The Bohemia is an integral part of the Empire were recognized, but obviously were not German. Grand Duke Frederick I ° Aosta-Bohemia had asked that the condition of his nation was considered before making any choice on the future of his people. Johan had sought a meeting, but was politely refused, only after he discovered that Frederick had met in secret, Frau Fenec. Johan did not give weight to the question, Fenec, was an ambitious woman, he was only interested in seeing the reborn empire. His Duchy of Saxony was enough. He rang the bell to summon the Reichstag. "Ladies and gentlemen," he said, "the preamble was voted and accepted by the plenipotentiary of the emperor and his representative, Frau Fenech. Our aim now is to continue to draw this constitution. The next article relates: The coronation Teotonicorum Rex and Imperator Romanorum. Then the powers granted to this Reichstag and the forms it should take to govern our nation. " Banged the gavel and waited until work begins. |

Vienna - Office of the Inteligence Posted Image The soldier saluted and stepped aside. Bela Kun entered the office. "Oh Bela," the salty Jakob "we are you, you have a good flight?" "Not at all," Kun said "there was a storm over the Alps." "Bad business," said former Foreign Minister George Heider, without specifying whether he was talking about the storm or photos on the table. Kun craned his neck to have a look "Monica'll pull through, but is no longer a kid, took some bad shots." "The boy is gone right?" Boka emerged from the shadows. "Yes," agreed Kun "but you already said so your picture is not it?" Without answering directly, Redlinger said "The situation is not good for anything, do you think will make another move or wait?". "I expect," Heider said "even a goat, idiot, as Petofi, would crown a kid without a bit 'of advertising, you'll see in the coming days there will be unrest in Hungary." "Loss?" Asked Boka. "Very likely, if His Majesty decides otherwise, we will not send the army to quell the rebellion". "And the Hungarians accept?" Jakob Redlinger seemed rather doubtful, but Kun, who was not, also preceded Boka saying "Do you know what for many ethnic Hungarians become a secondary? It means losing their place in history and especially losing control Reich. " Boka agreed "we need to prepare to very hard times" |

Madgeburg - Landsrat Building Johan Von Saxe-Coburg and Edwige Fenech were moderately happy with the result. Now the constitution was taking to work and everyone was confident that soon the first real Reichstag would be gathered to Mqagdeburgo with popular consent. The next lines of the constitution would be quiet and do not foresee major clashes. However, something stirred Johan, the fact that he could not speak more than one time with the Grand Duke Frederick of Bohemia. Frau Fenec was able to enter into any discussion on its own and to isolate, not only for Johan, but the entire Reichstag. She was a woman too ambitious to allow he to arbitrate imperial policy alone, but obviously from Vienna trusted he. It was always true, however, that in Vienna also had other fish to fry. He knew little of what was happening on the banks of the Danube, but it was obvious that the Hungarians were ready to be attached to weapons. The discussion about the coronation would take most imperial of the evening, then the debate on the rights of Germans would end quickly. Nobody would have questioned the fundamental rights of the German people. The doors swung open abruptly ending, abruptly interrupting the conference on the rights of states. Gunmen entered the room. For a long time Johan thought to things that could go wrong: A cupo by the emperor, but it was not possible, Philip was a king too enlightened to dissolve "manu militari" the Reichstag. A civil war even before the empire was born? An attack of the Hungarians? Instead entered the room, with stately gait, an elderly and fragile man. He aroused an immense sense of respect, placed in his military uniform. Everyone present recognized him immediately for Max Adolf Von Siedow, Duke of Thuringia. Instinctively, the Lutherans in the hall stood up applauding, Max was the champion of the Evangelical church. Nicholas, his son, even down the stairs to meet her father, and bow in front of him. The presence of Max was great, sick and old, rarely emerged from his castle of Wartburg where he studied the Bible, he seemd a young man in his thirthies, so great was his charisma. Johan, who also had his share of experiences, could not but feel a strong respect for this man. As soon as the applause was over, despite some anxious glances toward thuringians soldiers, delegates of the various Lander left that von Siedow fill the seat that had been his son. "Welcome," said Frau Fenec "Your grace, I am happy that you joined the discussion, many believed that without you we lost a lot of wisdom." He gave a nod, more annoyed that happy about receiving the compliment. Without deigning any of a look, pulled out a small scroll from the pocket of his uniform. Coughed before speaking, then his voice trembling, but deep resounded in the silence "Ladies and gentlemen," he said "I am not young, not even remember the last time I was young. But in exchange for youth I got the wisdom and experience. Just ask my nephew if I made a profitable trade, "he laughed, and with him the Reichstag "what we are talking about here today is not on fun and laughter but a serious and profound importance for the whole nation and my and your grandchildren, that you have or that you shall have. Many of you do not believe in God, some others believe in another God or something else. It is not important, you should not feel on your shoulders, the weight of God, but of the future Now I call brothers, because what we're tightening is not a pact of friendship, but of brotherhood, of my blood you are now responsible, I, yours one". There was a flood of applause and some among the younger began to cry out something that escaped Johan. The son said something to Max but he shook his head and said "I've finished, do your job." Magdeburg - Landsrat building All had imagined that the main conflict was between Lutherans and Catholics, was the case that the two factions were allied against the blockade, small but effective, the lay delegates. Johan was curious to know what was the response of Max Von Siedow, known to be a devout evangelical. Meanwhile, the debate went on, "What's the point," asked the head of the secular party, Jorg Oppenheimer "crowned an emperor?" Uproar among Catholics, a little 'less among evangelicals, however annoying. "The fact," replied Frau Wilhelmine Falken is that ours is an empire, we have no presidnete our head, but a German king and emperor of the Romans ". "Exactly," interjected a third, secular, that Johan did not know "Roman Empire, we should recall the Roman tradition, is the people who chose the emperor." "Roman will," replied the woman, even more important "but it is also sacred, and there is no sacred anointing of God." "Come, enough," Oppenheimer repeatedly "what you say is worthy of the Middle Ages." "What the Middle Ages, it is you who are without God!" Wilhelmina was fierce against the laity. Eventually he rose from the bench Von Siedow, put on his glasses with a baroque style that Johan even found and read his notes. "If the lady and gentlemen allow me to interrupt your quarrel," he said, "Please allow me to externalize my thoughts." The three fell silent, a little 'respect for Max's old age, a bit' to effective fatigue, the intervention of Thuringian, had arrived providential. "Well," he said "maybe not as many of you know, I had chosen another career. I did not want the glory of the crown, had chosen for me preaching, I wanted, when i was a boy, preaching the word of God I wanted to be its pastor. Unfortunately, God did not think so, my father Otto and my brother Karl Ludwig, died in a plane crash. has been so long that I do not even true that I was studying to Erfurt, but what I was doing when the guard ducal palace and took me to my mother circled the crown on his head. Now you may think this old man is telling the story of his life, we do not care, well we have other issues that play an old regrets. " Some eyes and Johan could confirm, including Frau Fenech, several seemed bothered by the intervention of Max "Well, I would have preached if he had been for me, but it was so I could not. Thuringia needed me. Not so well now? You do not have, you too, do like me? Combine pastoral and scepter? Who are you to crown or not the emperor of the Romans? No emperor accepted the crown from you, you should not give the crown, you must just get back to his justice and swear allegiance. Yes, "he repeated," you got it, the secular are right, the Reichstag must accept our emperor, but only to swear allegiance. Even the clergy are right, the emperor should be crowned with religious ritual, not so much to receive from God, who knows what a mandate, but to humiliate himself in front of someone and something, why can not humiliate himself in front of you who are his subjects, the face in front of a higher power. And if those who say that God don't exist and there is no use in it, I tell them, no matter, as long as the Emperor knows that his power is not his own, but that it can be removed at any moment, the ritual reminds him that even kings are flesh, blood and bones, which are dust and poor I must return. " The thunderous applause drowned the end of the speech, but then there was no need for other words. |

Magdeburg - Provvisory Reichstag - Landsrat Building The future of Austria and dealt with the few lines written by the Chancellor of the Republic of Friesland. "It is necessary," he said "that the federal states of the Archduke of Austria to be integrated into the great Reich as autonomous entities, like other states." Licthenstein had become purple, reading those lines had sent him into a rage, "Will you" attacked "divide austria?". "Split Brandenburg and Saxony even then!", These are delegates, who felt threatened by the proposal, they applauded. The proposal was rejected but the danger had not been stopped completely, even with the assistance of Frau Fenech. He then switched to vote for the entrance of Bohemia in the empire. Even there, delegates from smaller states, had tried to cross the line of separation. Max Von Siedow had intervened to explain that we could not reduce the empire to a mass of small states. Even voting for the Bohemia, very painful and very controversial, was resolved with the victory of faction Siedow. However, some issues remained unresolved, at least for Austria. That is the fate of South Tyrol and Vorarlberg. South Tyrol was an integral part of Austria, but the southern part was inhabited by Italians and they loudly demanded the right to self-representation. In Vorarlberg, lived, however, Austrian Swiss dialect people related to Liechtenstein, they also demanded their right to participate in the government of the empire, not as Austrian, but as a nation for their hown. The game was a delicate, Franconia, for example, failed to separate from Bavaria and create a state. Liechetenstei wanted to avoid at all costs that this was the fate of Austria. He needed to close the vote before the automistes returned to attack. "Gentlemen, ladies and Madame Fenec," said the to Reichstag "is definitely my intention to bring to vote the question of autonomy," paused "Archdukedom of Austria can not be broken, because by right belongs to the ruling family, the Habsburg-Lotharingens, however, as delegate of the Archduke are ready to recognize the independence of Vorarlberg, South Tyrol is too connected to Austria to let his people come off even from our land. " They voted for three times, failing the Reichstag to agree. At the end of the third vote, Liechtenstein it had to give. Vorarlberg would become a principality (joining Liechetenstein), South Tyrol would have gained its independence. Adam was about to say something to the microphone when some soldiers, with angry faces entered the room. The uniform identified as the soldiers of Austria. Approached him and whispered something, passing a handheld. He read it, bleaching, "Oh my ..." he said. "Frau Fenech, we must suspend the session", the delegates stood up by the various benches trying to learn something more and themeetings degenerated into chaos. Edited by Filo, May 23 2010, 12:23 PM.

Budapest - Royal palace Could not be said that the boy had not fought., He kicked like a mule and some of the guards bore scratches, evidence of the stubbornness of the boy. But now he lay tied to a chair in a corner of what, it seemed, could be a kitchen. Some men entered the room. They said something in a language which he had only a vague memory. "Non capisco", said in italian. One of those, the oldest, raised her hand to his face and tried to speak German to him "Sie verstehen, wenn ich diese Sprache sprechen?" Stefano, was unable to think of himself as Istvan, as they insisted on calling, rispose "Wir verstehen" "Well then speak German," said the old man "As you see my king deprived even of your native language," the voice was a mixture of anger and sadness. "Where is my mother?", Stefano asked. "That Italian whore, is not your mother my king", said the old man. The boy went into a rage, had it not been tied to the chair he would get up, unfortunately, forced into the snares could only commit itself and fell badly injuring his knee. The guards laughed with malice, it was obvious even to a teenager like him, who had for him the same respect that he had that strange old man. In fact they were rebuked in that strange language used between them. Then the old man returned to take care of him. "Istvan ...", he began but was interrupted "Stefano", the boy said "my name is Stefano". "Oh no," the man smiled at him "no more, now the mask behind which there are hidden, you are Istavan V of Hungary's house Hyundai. The Habsburgs and the Germans, they will have hidden dethroned and oppress the people of Hungary, we have freed you". Feeling tied the young could not thinking that it was a strange concept of liberation. "You", again said the man "climb to the throne and free your country from german oppression". "I," said Stefano "I will not leave anyone, I know that you did to my mother". The old man dropped him a slap "Stupid boy," he howled, "you are a king" This time the straps that bound him to the chair creaked heavily but since it was only a teenager, he could not break them "If I am a king must obey." "Give him something to calm him, a man took a syringe and a vial and, while two thugs held STefano stopped, he injected something. While you doffondeva in him a deep sleep he could hear the last words of the old man "O good or bad, will become king" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Borders bewteen Austria and Hungary Are you sure you want to go?". Jakob was worried. "I know Jakob, but Stefano is my son," Monica checked that there was everything, rifle, glasses and other stuff. "he 's just a boy," her voice cracked, "I did not think they could attack from behind, I was careless and stupid, but that was years nothing happened, I come back to Jakob it back to life it deserves Then I swear I'll tear the hearts of those who have taken away from me, will not be pleasant...for them". "At least let me or Kun, we are with you," replied Jacob "alone has no hope." She took the gun and loaded it, "This is all to prove" She pointed to Hungary "you will hear their cry and will be only the beginning of vengeance". Posted Image |

Vienna - Hoffburg "This is unacceptable!" Philip slammed his hands on the table and startled Boka and Fortune. "We can not accept this blackmail," and turned to television, where he saw Hungarian troops blocked the border with Austria and paraded before the parliament. Fortune, who returned recently from the Pacific, nodding his head "What can we do? Was calculated that Hungary had threatened to secede." "This is true, Fortune," the emperor said, "but I can not accept that they do it with this arrogance." Boka took off his glasses and leaned on the table "I never thought I'd see this moment in my life, I never thought of having to put up arms against my own country." someone knocked on the door to door, Frua Edwige Fenech and Adam Von Liechetenstein entered the room. "We came as soon as possible your majesty," she said. "The meeting of the Reichstag was suspended, Johan von Saxe-Coburg has the reins now." Fenec took it with some disdain, and went out with a cold bow. Even in the terrible situation Boka could suppress a smile. Philip gave a nod, "What terrible situation," he said "who is the cause of all this?". "Petofi" said Mrs. Fenec "Who else?". "But why not try a compromise if they wanted freedom," continued Philip, "that were enough to deal with the Reichstag." "Petofi" Boka intervened in the debate "can not accept an act of grace of the Germans, as he calls us, must have a showdown, just to justy his power, an act of grace by your majesty should put him in difficulties with the Magyar Garda." "Lichetenstein?" Philip turned to the general. "I do not know where Redlinger majesty but I'm ready," General bowed. "Well, Philip picked up a pen" Boka, you are excused from serving as my Prime Minister, I will not turn against your people, "wrote a note on the paper. "As the new chancellor of the empire", no one escaped the flicker in the eyes of Fenec It will be the Duke of Thuringia, Max Von Adolf Siedow, I want to be called immediately to Vienna, with a smile turned to Fenec "as my delegate in the Reichstag is your job to announce my decision to excellence", "Philip gave his note, signed and bearing the imperial seal |

Magdeburg - Landsrat When the session began was difficult to say for Von Siedow, what was the attitude that he read on the faces of his parliamentary colleagues. When entering, they saw him sitting on the bench who had been deputy imperial Frau Fenech, even the slowest of mind, they knew that the situation in Hungary had created a new atmosphere. When they sat on their benches were charts of the situation. "Gentlemen," said Max, "I feel compelled to speak to you again", he paused, he had to choose the right words "When about three weeks ago we sat down for the first time on these benches, we were convinced, you and I, we were working to unite ourselves to a state that already existed. Today, almost at the end of the work, we realize that we have been created now in our hands. We knew that there were no delegates from Hungary, the choice of states to join the Empire as they pleased was free, we thought that Hungarians would remain faithful to their loyalty to the imperial crown", he waited a bit to allow delegates from various read the brief information contained in the folder that had received, he continued "This did not happen," he said simply "not only the Hungarians have dared to betray the loyalty to the empire but they also dared to raise arms against its own sacred life". In the hall a murmur spread, many were confident that Hungary was ready for war. "Yes," Von Siedow agreed with them "The Hungarians are ready to declare war, they could come to treat with the emperor or the Reichstag but have preferred the path of confrontation. However, his imperial majesty, legal process or want us to carry out this battle and appointed me Chancellor, I have come to you for ratification of the German people, who could not yet vote, but is expressed through you and your regional governments. " The parliament voted compact Von Siedow as chancellor of the empire, the success, 300 delegates out of 382, it was embarrassing. However, with characteristic aplomb that distinguished him, Max took up the discourse, "Well, i accept the decision of the German people. The Hungarians wanted their land, trey feared that the German people came to overwhelm them, we were ready to leave them free, no ties with us. They also wanted the wealth and the rights of our empire, but they are ours! Well, let them their land, but it will be an hell. " |

Magdeburg - Magdeburger Dom Posted ImagePosted Image The arrival of Philip was prepared with painstaking care. Although the morning people were thronging along the cords that went from the airport to the cathedral, there was some calm. Few really knew that Philip, the more they knew it was a foreign head of state and was now to become their king. To many, King, seemed a strange word, emperor even more strange. Many, however, tied his figure to that of Germany, and they said, Germany will reborn. The guards, who were from Free State of Anhalt, were arranged through the streets and rooftops, but seemed unnecessary. The atmosphere that reigned in the city was like that of a village fair, where the people was to get the main attraction. The Emperor's car was escorted by two other cars, next to him there was Fortune. In front, along with the driver, Bela Kun. Philip greeted those around him laughing "Did you realize?," asked to the woman "They did not recognize me." The arrival at the cathedral, a beautiful Romanesque building dating back to the time of Otto I, was greeted by a burst of gunfire and three cannon shots fired blanks. The Evangelica Youth Chorus of the city was waiting in the churchyard. Posted Image As soon as the emperor opened the door the children began to sing ode to joy The crowd applauded convinced. "Wonderful," murmured Philip, even though the boys were ill prepared and be disfigured in Vienna, in an atmosphere of lightness and celebration seemed to be an angelic choir. "This," said Philip "is the anthem of the empire". Once inside the dome, the atmosphere changed radically. The austerity, all Lutheran, the temple, mingled with a sense of profound meaning of the statement that the Chancellor pro tempore, Max Von Siedow, seated at the right hand of the throne, adopted. Because the interior was that of a medieval church, the public was left out, only members of the government officials, journalists and foreign representatives, had been admitted. The evangelical bishop of Magdeburg was chairman of the cult, Heinrick Strasser was seated to the left of Von Siedow with a bible in his hand. Strasser was next to Johan von Saxe-Coburg, the mind of all this, the emperor honored with the privilege of bearing the crown of king of Germany. Posted Image The worship began with a song, then Johan von Saxe-Coburg rose and placed the crown on the altar, there was a Bible reading, the anointing of David, the second book of Samuel. After reading, Johan spoke "Philip abdicated to your office, waiving your throne." Philip put his hands on the altar "I renounce". The bishop began another reading from the first chapter of the book of Solomon, verse 16, which said: "And the Lord said to Samuel," How long will weep over Saul, and I have rejected because it does not reign over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and parts. I order to go to the Jesse in Bethlehem, because among hiw children I chose a king. " Then Johan asked "Do you want to reign in righteousness on the German people?". "I do," said Philip. The bishop placed the crown on the head "Now you're king of Germany." Max Von Siedow was the first to bow, and so did all the subjects in the square that started shouting "Long live Philip, king of the Germans!". Now Philip was "Rex Teotonicorum", the next step would be the imperial coronation. |

Budapest - Saint Stephan Dom Posted Image In the choir of the cathedral rang the "Te Deum", dark and solemn. Even the soul of Petofi was dark, the boy staggered and obviously, if someone had stopped to observe him, he realized that he had been drugged. "Marko, Petofi, under a heading called large buffalo that was the commander of the hussars' Keep close to Prince Istvan, we should not give rise to suspicion, made a very long pause when passed by two aristocrats, then said "many are convinced that you are doing too fast." Marko nodded "Yes, Mr. President and I never will Julian Marko. But Mark was not at all agree that clutched the arm was a little boy younger than her son was not right to sacrifice to his country. But he could not disobey. As they approached the altar, the Cardinal Nagy of Budapest had already started the homily. The future Istavan V not enjoyed any prestige, Marko ascertained. Petofi sat to the right of the young prince and snorted, it was obvious that could not stand this ridiculous pantomime, but now the decision was made. While Nagy prattled on the relationship between blood, king and country, a soldier of hussars, came to Marko "Lord," she said softly," so softly that even Petofi, could not understand" There is an air squadron in the sky, it is not our " "German?" Said Marko. "I know ...", explosions shook the sacred temple, there was panic and screams interrupted the sermon of Nagy. Marko is pushed through the crowd to the square and from there on the ramparts of the walls of Buda. The bridges over the Danube were brunch, the flock of safe aircraft belonged to the Reich. Petofi joined him with the breath, sweat was lost and the look was "What the hell happened?" "The emperor, he punished us." Left the prime minister to look at the bridge in flames ran to Istavan to keep him safe |

Toward Budapest The guards at the border were a breeze. Monica was more trained, more bad, and most of them motivated. Even Jacob had to admit that she was very good. "And I have not even killed those dogs in Hungary," he said. "Hush!, Or realize that you are a woman," he said to her, dressed in the uniforms of the Hungarian army were going to Budapest. None of those patrols were going to the border had stopped, not even to check why, instead of to the front went in the opposite direction. After several hours of driving their luck ran out. A squad of hussars presented him a red shovel. "Stop, stop!", They shouted the sergeant. The stripes on the uniform of a sergeant were Jacob, those of Monica, trying to keep head lower as he could, was a corporal. "Certainly," Jakob's smile seemed forced, "however, must understand that then will explain the secret police, as has never stopped an undercover agent," with no chalance drew from his pocket a piece of paper (actually a handkerchief) are you? "Oh", got off the hussar "I understand ", he said, and snapped to attention " Please sergeant. " When they were far Monica, who did not know whether to laugh or cry said "But how did you do?". "Soldiers are people who can be either very dull or very awake, just having the luck to find one that is stupid". They laughed, but Monica didn't went back the gun. "Sergeant," said the hussar, "where are you going?". "In Budapest, we were called" Jacob tried to fool them, the rest had worked for years with a secret service agent, Bela Kun. "I can see a document?" Asked yet. |

OCC: I plan to invite all heads of states to incoming celebration. I'll send a message shortly. Magdeburg - Landsrat-promoted Bundestag building A waiting silence dominated the Bundestag. Von Siedow sat on the bench for chancellor, his face serious. "People," beginning "people of Germany and the empire," resumed the cameras from all angles and transmitted on all frequencies. Von Siedow seemed an experienced senator of ancient Rome, certainly did not lack experience and his age made him like Cato. "People in Germany," he repeated for the second time "The Reichstag, through your vote in the assemblies of the states, voted for the constitution in exam. the vote was unanimous, the constitution of the German people and empire has been approved and is now the central imperial law. All citizens, and all states and all cities have been, are, by now, related to this law can not be disregarded. Each of us, the emperor himself, as humble cittadibo Germany, Tuscany or Bohemia is called upon to defend it as the most valuable asset. " Loud applause exploded in the room but, with some surprise, even in the streets and cafes, while they were flaying the Black-Gold-Red flag with imperial eagle in the middle, the new chosen flag of the empire. What had been a divided people and a nation fragmented, rejoiced the rebirth of a state that, once again, promised to be the engine of a new page of history. Philip was, even before the coronation as Emperor, taken as a symbol. For Tuscany Venetian imperialism was the defense, for the Bohemians was simply a return to the old dynasty, the Germans had even more. He was Charlemagne, was Otto I, was Redberd, was Germany itself. Now, to establish definitively the rebirth of the Holy Roman empire, the imperial crown that was needed was to be placed on the head of Philip. Von Siedow, as the new chancellor, not waiting for the right moment. |

The bombing had lasted only a few hours. Only the bridges had been damaged and the number of civilian casualties was low. Only some poor wretch who was passing on the Danube at that hour. The agitation, however, was much in the city. In Budapest there were little groups in the streets to head up at the sky. Someone had packed up and left the city on the plains more isolated in If the Reich had never attempted to occupy the city. Nobody knew exactly what was happening. It was known that a number of Austrian soldiers had been moved to the border, and even Bohemia had responded to the empire, with several brigades in the state of early warning. Many believed they were seeing a tick armored column from one day to another. The most worried of all, though he tried not to show it was General Marko. He knew what the state would pay the Hungarian army, small compared to that of Reich and weak. A confrontation would be the end of Hungary. For that all evenings he left Sopron to Budapest to convince Petofi and the temporary government, to deal with Emperor. Philip had proved to be too generous, independence in exchange for the return of the crown jewels and the payment of federal debts from Danubian Union since the days of the Holy Roman Empire and renunciation of the title of apostolic majesty and the abolition of the monarchy. Anyone would agree, but not Petofi hoped to be remembered as a novel Kossuth, or to persuade Philip to form a new dual monarchy instead treat hungary like a German lander. So that evening his UAZ sped into the empty streets of Sopron campaign. As always Marko drove alone with his orderly, not like the stock and the retinue that some senior officers were brought back. When he saw the car behind her flashing was caught for a moment of surprise. For a few miles took no notice but the vehicle became more insistent. "Sir," said his attendant "would be better to stop." Marko, disappointed, went on a pitch. The car that followed was a military jeep as theirs. From it went down two men, one more slender remained behind, the other approached, he was a corporal. He seemed surprised to see a general. Marko was even more surprised when the corporal pulled out the gun. "I'm sorry", said the man "General you cone with us, and you too", said to the attendant "and try no joke ok?" |

Koln The cars sped along the main road, between two wings of a jubilant crowd. Black, red, gold flags of the empire flew alongside those of St. Peter, the symbol of the holy father. Philip sat in his car slightly tense. He would marry a woman he had known very little and that in practice could be anyone. Would gladly shook hands with Fortune, if she had been with him in the car. But she thought it was not the case that they still see you did. together. Not now that he was to meet the future empress. When he arrived to the Koln Airport, there was a large group of guards. All in perfect uniform. To Philip was allowed to bring looked imperial hussars blacks, who in their machines, dark as night, accompanying the machinery of their sovereign, together with soldiers Kasnya. Both were a spectacular view. When the German Emperor out of the car flashes of journalists hit him like rays of light. He did not blame them, it was the social event of the century. A united imperial coronation at a wedding which was attended crowned heads of Europe and politicians from around the world, Better than that, the tabloids could not hope. The Germans then, would have the opportunity to get acquainted with Philip known only to his Austrian subjects. Philip was tense, although he tried to deny it even to himself, so when a polite official Kasnya guided him towards the hall where the princess would come, he felt his heart leap in his throat. And to ease the tension began to speak with thick Von Siedow meeting with the pope. "Your majesty?" Asked a footman. "The Princess Verena has arrived." His heart stopped beating for a few seconds. The princess was beautiful, but also gave off an aura of confidence and security that Philip immediately enchanted. "Are you Philip are not you?" He asked pointing to a slight bow gracefully, but without looking away. "Yes," said the German king "and you are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen," inside him snapped like something. Verena was the woman he had to love. Fortune was now past. "How gallant you are," she said holding out his hand for him to kiss her "I am very honored to be your bride." "Believe me," he said "Not as me to be your husband, you're the most beautiful pearl of the empire." She smiled, "Shall we go?", she said "there are still five days before the wedding, I want to know you a bit 'before i shall lie in your bed." |

Koln, 1st Day of celebrations If the town had been waiting for the arrival of the king of Germany, now that were going to get all the crowned heads from Europe and from half the world, the excitement was at its height. And then Kasnya and Porcu and all countries of Germany and southern Europe. Philip waited with impassive calm. These five days were the longest of his life, including the imperial coronation in Vienna, would disappear in front of the magnificence and spectacular nature of this celebration. Within himself, the emperor prayed to God to give him the strength to govern a nation so great. The ceremony was designed by Von Siedow celebrate a millennium of Roman Empire two thousand years of German history.
