Posted Image The Principality of the Volga is a large, multi-ethnic state which spans from the borders of the Russian Empire to the Urals and the territories of Nag Ehgoeg . Its capital is Kazan, whom the Kremlin is the see of the Prince, while its total population is of 5,5 bilions people, whom the majority is composed by Russians and Cossacks, although there is a large and influential German community which has founded some of the main commercial cities along the river Volga. The history of the principality is very long : initially the city of Kazan was founded by Slavs, but soon the first form of state was occupied by the Tatar Armies which stayed there and were slowly absorbed by the local population . However these people left considerable traces in the society of Kazan, including the military structures and the traditions of the Aristocracy : even today an aristocrat is required to be an excellent horse rider and the activity of war is still considered one of the main prerogatives of the nobility . Despite this Conservatorism the Principality slowly modernised under the rule of the originally Tatar Olug dinasty (which still survives with the name of Olugov) : the first German colonizers were allowed to come by the prince Yadegar I while the Principality gradually westernised under his successors . Gradually a modern administration was created along with a class of technicians, while a Germano-Volga company started to exploit the immense resources of Siberia and the woods of the Urals. The incursions in the Russian territory, which since the Middle Ages had been a considerable source of incomes for the Prince ceased in this period . In an unusual effort of urbanisation, in the XVIIIth century, the Prince Ivan Moxammad had rebuilt the city of Kazan according to western models : architects from Germany projected and built the large lanes and axes which currently make up the city . Since then a prolonged period of peace allowed a relative prosperity and some important reforms (abolition of servage, creation of manufactures etc..), but except from the "German Free Cities" and the main Royal Capitals (Kazan, Orenburg, Saratov) the conditions of life of the peasants are still medieval . Posted Image Kazan Kremlin The society of the Principality is mainly made by Tatar and Slavic peasants who are theorically free, but still linked to feudal laws of loyalty to their overlords . Moreover the base of the society of Kazan is the structure of the Clans, a heritage of the Tatar domination : the main of them are the blue clan, the one of the Prince and the administration, the red one, from which come the Army, and the green one, the one of traders . In fact the Clan is totally independant from the ethnicity of its members, but rather works as an economic organisation, a corporation . The only people without a clan are the peasants, who can however become members if they can buy their freedom and learn an art, and the German settlers who come from a totally different cultural reality. The Prince himself, now Vassili Yadegar II, is an absolute ruler whom the power is justified by the divine right : he his called at the same time "Vicary of the Lord" and "Great Praiser of the Stars" and is regarded as a very important figure by both the christian and the shamanic citizens of the state . This raises no questions among his subjects as the society of the Volga is renowned for its religious tolerance, by which priests and shamans are equally respected members of the society and often help each other . Minister of Foreign Affairs The Principality of the Volga thanks the British Empire for its offers of friendship and accepts to start talks regarding an economic cooperation between the two states. An answer has already been given to His Majesty the Tsar Alexei of Russia, an answer that we hope will end any doubt about the future of the relations between our two countries. |
