~~THE NATIONAL EXPRESS NEWS~~ FINAL PREPERATIONS FOR EMPRESS' FUNERAL As the week comes to a drawing close the Imperial Family has announced that preperation for the Late Empress Victoria's funeral is all underway. The funeral is due to take place in a week's time with the Imperial Family making sure every detail is in place. The nation has been sending condolences with nearly 10 million bouquets of flowers being placed outside the Imperial Palace. The funeral which is said to be one of the most expensive in UAI history will cost around $20 million. Crowned Prince Henry has announced that two months after the funeral is to take place shall be his coronation. Heads of States have already begun announcing that they will be attending the event, with President Richard M. Nixon of the Republic of Porcu and King Edward IX of the Kingdom of Great Britain along with others. The Imperial Family has also announced that the Late Empress will be buried in Cathrenia Castle, which was Empress Victoria's summer house and where most of their children and grandchildren grew up. Though the late Empress has gone her legacy remains untainted, Lancton Bridge, the largest bridge in the Islands, will be renamed EVictoria Bridge which was constructed and completed under the Empress' reign. In a couple of months time is also the General Elections due to take place in September with many critics hailing that UAI is up for a clean, fresh start with a new monarch and in some time a new Chancellor, with current Chancellor John Cumberland announcing he will be leaving his post. OOC: I know, I forgot I posted it. Sorry. Edited by Imperial Union UAI, May 11 2010, 11:57 AM.

As requested by the UAI, the Holy Roman Empire will send a delegate to the incoming funeral. Due to lack of a governament, caused by the costitutional crisis we are suffering, His Majesty the Emperor, Philipp II Von Habsburg-Lotharingen cannot visit the islands, neither can do the ministers of our nation. His majesty will send a delegate in the person of former foreign minister Fortune. -- Foreign office of the empire: In Nomine Serenesisimi Augusti Philippi a Deo Coronatus Pafificus Magnus Imperator Romanorurm Edited by Filo, May 11 2010, 01:10 PM.

~~THE NATIONAL EXPRESS~~ THE LATE EMPRESS LAID TO REST The final farewells of the country has been said to the Late Empress Victoria after her funeral occured this Sunday. The nation turned up in their millions where the funeral took place in one of United Asian Island's most beautiful churches, Santo Domingo, with Cardinal Wolisey, pronouncing the ceremony. The funeral which was reportedly said to cost over $18 million to have organised, was indeed by far the most extravagent, any other Imperial Family has seen. The funeral was shown on UAI national channel, the NNC, where the funeral took place over 2 hours. The Late Empress' Eldest son, Crowned Prince Henry, made an empowering speech during the ceremony lasting over 20 minutes. Critics have applauded the Prince for his speech, saying it has helped the nation's morale and has lifted the country's spirit and his good use of ability of delivering the speech, not needing to look at his notes once, has made many Unasians think that the Empire are in good, capable hands. But with an economy still being overtaken by regional competitors others may disagree. His brother, HIH, Prince David also made a speech, and though less empowering, his emotional deliverance, where tears were running down his cheeks showed that the country truly was mourning. Other speeches were made by, Sir Derrick Mansfield, High Chamberlain, a good friend and advisor to the Empress for over 40 years, Chancellor John Cumberland also made speeches, with Governor-Generals from Alonais and Protini saying their farewells to represent the Commonwealths. King Edward IX of the Kingdom of Great Britain, President Richard M. Nixon of the Republic of Porcu, Empress Claudia of the Kasnyian Empire and Generalissimo Miyazaki Kenich along with his foreign Ministers of Chilserdia were also present in the funeral to say their farewells. As well as this a delegate from one of UAI's leading and most powerful, and most major ally from Haratoniaa was also present despite the Head of State not being able to attend due to certain events. A representative from the Holy Roman Empire was also present as a special request by the government of the UAI as the nation has been trying to build up good relations with regional neighbours. The Late Empress' letters were also taken to the funeral but despite this it was never read aloud and the diary was later taken place to Dover Castle and the Empress was laid to rest in a cemetary just within Dover Castle estates. The Empress's final orders were given to the strictest of orders where all flags were set to half in flagpoles, the flag hanging in the Imperial Palace was fully taken down and was turned upside down. After the ceremony the Empress' body was buried, after which the country stood for a moment of silence for a solid 2 minutes and the capital of Crona for a whole 5 minutes.
