EMPRESS DIES AGED 87

HM Empress Victoria IV of United Asian Islands has just died at the age of 87. As a whole nation mourns for a beloved Empress preparations are already underway for her succesor. The Imperial Palace announced the news that the Empress died at her home in Doyan Castle. With her son, Crowned Prince Henry, away on official state visit the arrival of the news was a shock both to the Imperial Royal Family and to the nation. Despite announcing she suffered from severe neck pains due to stress, the Empress' health records have been very healthy.

The Empress lived one of the most interesting lives compared to previous monarchs and has a legacy which would stand the test of time for becoming the longest reigning monarch in all of UAI history. Reigning for 71 years, coming to the throne at the age of 16 critics hammered both her and the Imperial Family for not putting in a guardian into the throne while the Empress got older. The first 4 years of her reign saw a leave of absence by the Empress after the death of her 2 sisters on a car crash while on a state visit. The start of her reign saw one of the most developed countries on the Pacific and of the world take a huge turn. The final year of her father's reign saw an increase in the percentage of unemployment, poverty and the country’s financial debt. The country witnessed 2 protests and an up rise in communist rebellions fighting for the independence of the southern regions of the country and at least 5 assassination attempts towards the Empress. Her reign saw the transition of the old monarchy being modernised as her reign saw a huge thrust forward. Despite suffering a huge economical recession 6 years into her reign and unemployment rising to an all time high of 12%, her government's economical reforms in 1982 transformed the country. Unemployment rate decreased to an all time low of 0.5% and the tackling of poverty in the eastern parts of the country. It saw an increase in Imports and Exports for the country. Her government's social, welfare and political reforms in 1988 saw the change in the way the throne was to be succeeded and gives every child in UAI the right to an education. Today nearly 96% of the country has access to education with 25% entering higher education. The country doubled its GDP under her reign. Health reforms which were her personal bill made UAI one of the healthiest nations with a life expectancy of 82. Her final years saw UAI stand the test of time with the 2010 recession shaking the country’s economy but able to stand still. Despite an all time low support for the monarch with just 52% in support for the monarch it also saw an all time high with 97% of the country in support for the monarch. She currently averages out through her reign at 81% only second to her great-great-great-grandfather King-Emperor Charles III who average out at 84% through his 62 years of rule. The Empress none the less remains one of the most politically involved monarch in the country's history.

A true jewel, the Empress will be missed. God Save the Empress.

An image of the Empress on her deathbed.

This is the Empress' final letter
"" Dear Loyal subjects,

Today I come to you no longer as the great Empress I once stood during my reign, nor do I come to you today as your Empress. I come to you today as a woman, a woman of the United Asian Islands, a woman proud to have led a nation with so much devotion, so much passion and so much love and care. Through my years as your Empress our country has seen dramatic changes. Our country has experience both bad and good times. But no matter what I hope that my 70 year long reign will be seen as a remarkable leap forward for our flourishing nation and if I am to die then I wish to die knowing that the future of our great nation is safe and knowing that I did my country proud. Our nation is filled with a long history as far up as the stars can go. This nation has seen feuds and civil wars but I am proud to say in times of need our people stand united for the trouble which lies ahead. To all citizens of our country, in times of need you have asked the government and your Empress for your support. Now in my final days as your Empress I ask that you do the same as what this nation has done before. Stand United, hand in hand. And for the very last time, my people, I am proud to have served this country.

Yours truly and faithfully,
Victoria Tudorin, House of Rondea ""

MILLIONS GATHER AS 7 DAY MOURNING BEGINS

Posted Image
The Millions that gathered outside Doyer Castle, the Empress' coffin was covered with the Imperial Standard

Today a whole nation gathered outside the late Empress Victoria's private estate in Doyer Castle to see her coffin taken outside and covered with the Imperial Standard for all the people to see. It is the first time a our great nation has witnessed the covering of the coffin in over a century, the last being King-Emperor William I who personally asked in his will to have his coffin covered with the Imperial Standard outside the Imperial Palace in Imperia Crona. The millions gathered Outside Doyer Castle offering their sympathy for the Imperial Royal family and many came in tears. The Government declared a state of National Holiday throughout the whole week of mourning, with next week being a Bank Holiday. But though many came to tears hardly any of the population wore black. The Imperial Family have personally asked that the population wear as little black as possible, most of the population wore the colour yellow, the late Empress' favourite colour and the colour of the dress she wore on her final national state speech where the thousands gathered. Lord Dorthy, Head of the Chamberlains, announced that the Empress' will and her final wants will be revealed at the end of the 7 day mourning. The United Asian Island's Cardinal, Cardinal Wolsely has announced that the Church of UAI will also undergo a week of sorrow with many priests offering their prayers to the late Empress. Though the Empress has past the Government is still shaken by the recent events. With the coming general elections less than 9 months away, the dissolution of Parliament will not be possible without a monarch, meaning that the elctions could be haulted. Today the late Empress' daughter, Princess Royal Margaret stayed with her mother today in Doyer Castle. The rest of the members of the Imperial Family have travelled to Imperia Crona where the Empress' coffin will be taken to the Imperial Palace and there a National Salute will take place, speeches from members of the Imperial family and her government and the final anointing which is to be perfomed by the Cardinal. Today, HIH Crowned Prince Henry, next inline to the throne of the UAI arrived back from his state visit abroad. Arriving from the UAI national airport, which many are petitioning to be renamed Victoria IV National Airport in celebration for the Empress, who became the first monarch to use the airport and has been the person to use it the most amount of times departing and arriving from the airport over 1000 times. As the Prince arrived he was met with a huge crowd, he was taken to the Imperial Palace where there the first transition of the crown from the predecessor to the successor will take place. The Prince will take his first oath and promises. He was taken to the Imperial Palace on a double decker bus to give him a chance to wave to his crowd and his future subjects.

The 65 Year Old prince have won critics over with his state visits and trying to promote United Asian Islands culture. The Prince has recently taken up some duties for the Empress already, he is currently an active environmentalist, economist and entrepreneur.

"The Kingdom of Great Britain regrets the death of Empress Victoria, and sends our deepest regards to the UAI people. If at all possible, we would like to formally request that King Edward be permitted to attend the funeral, as a show of good will to the newly emerging nation.

"That said, we hope this death can mark a new era in relations between our states. We would like to welcome Crown Prince Henry to Liverpool in the near future, and use his crowning as an excuse to forge amiable relations between our states."

Dear Heads of states,

"We thank you for your condolences. Indeed the loss of a great Empress is a huge fall for the United Asian Islands. The Imperial Family has personally asked me to send invitations to all heads of states and heads of government to attend the funeral due to take place later this week. As our nation mourns for seven days we would also like to add that the Crown Princed Henry has asked if all Heads of States and Heads of Government attend his coronation also due to take place later in the coming months.

Once again we thank you for your condolences, we hope a new monarch will forge new relations with new nations.

Yours sincerely,

The so called United Asian Islands are weak and foolish to put so much stock in a single ruler. The country should be great enough to stand alone and see no major change from leader to leader.

Indeed you are right to say that a nation should be able to stand alone and see no major change from leader to leader after all we've had centuries of them. But I ask you what if that leader was a mother not only to a nation but for a whole generation. We are not talking about a simple monarch who went into power and lived an upper class life, Empress Victoria was in power for over 70 years, a whole genertion saw the empire transform from its old ways of the monarch into a new modernised one. Therefore the death of a ruler who has been in power her whole life is different to a ruler who is in power for only a few years. Saying this means yes, our country does see major changes from leader to leader, so what? Calling our people weak is foolish, it just shows that our people are loyal to their rulers.

Then her death is a good one. Your citizens have become so dependent and sheltered by this dead monarch that they now stand unprotected from the harsh reality of the world. Such a long reign is more detrimental then beneficial. Why would you mourn someone who hurt the country? You should be celebrating the Empress' death.

King Edward shall plan on personally attending the funeral, and looks forward to the opportunity to build relations with the United Asian Islands. As we hold on to territory in Indochina, relations between our two countries are both relevant and necessary. We hope to create a prosperous relationship from the ashes of this tragic passing.

Closing Days Of A Week's Mourning

As the week's mourning ends for the death of the late Empress Victoria preperations are being made to her funeral due to take place two days after the week's mourning ends. The death of the Empress has been viewed as a loss of a great Empress but indeed many would also say it is a sign of a new start for the our growing nation. For years our nation has been hammered by civil rights protest, political reforms, and civil wars. But with a new King due to take the throne in a few months time and the Chancellor elections due to take place later in the year it seems the nation is finally breathing in new fresh air. Prince Henry's efforts to promote UAI culture around the world has been viewed by many critics as the start of a slow transition from monarch to monarch, throughout the years we have begun seeing attend more parliament debates, take up more duties of the crown and even represent UAI on behalf of his mother, and as Head of State. It has been a slow process for the last 20 years and many claim that he is more than ready to take the crown, up to the point where the Empress was asked to retire and pass on the crown. Head of Government, John Cumberland, has made a joint speech announcing that all Head of States and Heads of Government will be welcome to attend the Late Empress' funeral due to take place later in the days, inviting nations both from near and far. This was followed by a speech made by the Prince announcing that his coronation will be due to take place later in the months. Indeed 70 years under the supervision of Empress Victoria has seen major changes, but as a new generation arrives we see a new monarch on the throne and a new Head of Government after announcing that John Cumberland will leave parliament and retire. Indeed it seems our nation is being renewed and we will no doubt see the continous modernisation of our government and of our monarch, and of course of our nation.

OOC: People form UAI are known as Unasians. Beofore European powers colonized the islands the natives were known as Guenians. These people who lived as native tribes became minorities when European powers came along. The people ethnically are descendats of British (colonized the south-east of the islands) German (colonized north-east of the islands) and Dutch (colonized the west as part of Indonesia). Together they compromise at least 90% of the population. There is also a considerable amount of Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese immigrants while descendants from native Guineans compromise hardly of the population. Here's the short list:

96% Unasians (Mainly of British, German and Dutch descent while a small minority are of French anscestry)
1.8% Chinese
1.5% Spanish
0.68% Portuguese
0.02% Native Guineans

Official Statement
The Death of the so-called Empress of the United Asian Islands should hardly be mourned by the ethnic Asians. She was but yet another foreign blood that has ruthlessly invaded greater Asia. Know that her death, like the death of all other foreign blood monarchs will only be celebrated by the war-torn people of the Eastern Empire. May the Gods soon punish the wicked foreigners and bring a final end to their tyrannical reign over the Asian people.

Sir,

Let me remind you that we do not mourn because of her race, wether she was a foreigner or not, but we mourn because she was a leader who stood by our nation. Not only a mother to me and my siblings, but a mother to a nation. Our foreign blood now compromise over 90% of the population, therefore we have the right to say that we are also ethnic Asians, people are defined by thier personality, not by there looks. Surely a Prince such as yourself should know more about this. Their so called "tyrannical reign" brought with them civilization. They brought with them food, workers, science. Long before they came along most people didn't know how to read or write and many, lived in mudball huts and many were suffering from poverty. Their or should I say our "foreign" blood put order. Surely you can understand the intensions of the foreigners.

Yours truly,
Crowned Prince Henry.
Future Emperor of the Imperial Union of the United Asian Islands
