OOC: I blitzed through the final section of these championships because I'm working on the next Confederations Cup and then the World Cup. And yes, I can assure you that there was no cheating done. :) |

OOC: How did I lose to Metz if I was the #1 seed? IC: Sky Sports Report "Welcome to Football Tonight. I'm Jordan Rinehart. Euro 20XX ended in another Porcuian title, after a gripping showdown with a scrappy Venetian side. Our own English national team finished the group stage as the #1 seed, but went down to Metz in the quarters. So, I'm here with Robert Lawrence, Premier League sportscaster and former coach of Arsenal. Robert, what will go down as the lasting legacy from this tournament, the Republic's surprising performance and reaching #1 in the group stage, or the disappointing loss in the quarters?" "Well, you've got to give these players a lot of credit. They haven't had much of a strong showing on the international stage up to this point, going winless in the Isles Cup, and only two international wins before this tournament began. Expectations weren't high for this team going in, but I think they surprised all of Europe and all of the football world, getting a result in ten of their thirteen matches. Highest scoring team in the tournament with twenty-six goals, and second-highest goal differential, just behind the Irish." "I don't think that Coach Hollister or John Dural, team captain, were ready for this kind of success this soon, and I think the pressure got to them, and a scrappy Metzian side, which pushed Venice to PKs in the semis, was able to capitalize on the stage fright in Hamburg. Overall, I think this was a really good sign for English football, but the pressure's going to be on them to capitalize on their success and do well in the World Cup." "Thanks, Robert. In other sports news, one of the first professional hockey leagues is in the process of being created. A test league between Porcu, Zeelar..." |

OOC: As a test of my plans to assign a RL football club to each national team for the upcoming Confederations Cup and World Cup, I assigned you (England) to the Spanish club Valencia (a top Spanish club) and Metz to the German club Hamburger SV. The rating difference between the two clubs on FIFA08 is half a star and HSV is considered to be a weaker team. However, this time they won (goals in the 23' and 66' min). Yes, it's an upset, but looking at the old rating table (the image one I had up before) Metz was ranked higher than you (16th place vs. 19th place). Great news recap, btw. OOC: What's this? You go away for a few weeks and come back to beat Venice in football? :P Eh, the Venetian team must be pretty good, seeing as they won the last tournament and came in second this time around. What's the "Score After Regulation" part mean? |

OOC: Porcu scored in Supplementary Time (overtime, but not sudden death) and won 2-1. The "Score After Regulation" refers to the score after the normal 90 minutes plus injury time. And yeah, you're good. Take a look at the ranking table. You've got a huge lead over everyone else. |
