With the verdict determined, Michael Harris was found guilty of the crimes committed. With this, the sentencing was to be determined, by jury.

The English Republic's prosecution is in favor of life imprisonment, the maximum sentence allowed by English law.

The Icelandic prosecution, viewing Harris as a destabilizing element and someone meriting demise, is in favor of executing Harris.

Harris himself argues for forced exile to a non-aligned nation, where he will be allowed to live in peace, but will not be permitted to leave the country in which he is placed.

With the trial concluded and the sentence deadlocked between exile and execution, a compromise was reached: Harris would be exiled into the no-man's land near the Rhine River north of Switzerland and east of Amish territory. He was affixed with a monitoring chip in the back of his head. Should Harris attempt to leave the 160-acre area he is exiled to, the chip would overload and fry his brain, killing him.
