Wales, Scotland, England, and now Ireland. Lord Aldebaran was a well-travelled man, and planned to return to Wales afterwards. But now he was travelling to the Green Isle to visit the Romans' longtime alllies in Ireland. He hoped that this would be a more relaxing prospect. When he arrived in town, he was quickly escorted to the meeting. |

Lord Aldebaran was perhaps somewhat surprised as he entered the meeting chamber, for the he looked upon was not the High King. He was a very tall, well-shaped man with a large beard, dark hair, and dark eyes. He wore garments of Ulster yellow and red, and upon his breast was the Red Hand. He was, unmistakeably, the O'Neill. He spoke with a deep and powerful voice, though entirely calm and polite. "Lord Rónán Seán Ó Néill, at your service. I apologize the High King could not be here. He is currently in Moscow with the Queen, though I believe they will be traveling to Constantinople soon. The High King has appointed me to act in his stead until his return. "That said, I do have a few things on the agenda, but I would rather give you the opportunity to state Rome's concerns first." Edited by Sedulius, Jan 22 2010, 03:45 PM.

"Well, it is my pleasure to meet you my lord," Aldebaran began, "I'm always happy to visit our Irish friends, and lately it seems this region has become rather confusing. How has Ireland reacted to these recent events concerning Wales and Scotland?" |

"The Isles have fallen on dark times. Two empires have formed in the same amount of years. The High King has done only what is necessary to protect Ireland. I heard that upon hearing the declaration of a Celtic Empire, he immediately went into action to prevent its spread. His actions had enough impact that they rescinded their empire status, though tensions linger since they refuse to let go of their pan-Celtic name. "On the matter of Britain, the High King has been surprisingly neutral, though he met with the British King recently. Everything seemed to go well. Trade has been flowing more than ever into Ireland ever since that meeting. But the disturbing news is..." the O'Neill coughed. "The disturbing news is that war is inevitable. Doubtless the British intend to overtake the Republic to the south, and William has made clear he will defend them to the end." |

"I was just in London," Lord Aldebaran announced, "and they were quite certain that Britain was planning an attack. But when I was among the Scots they were not nothing but pleasant to me. However, the empire has no formal interest in England or Britain currently. However, know that if either power should declare war against Ireland, the empire will be here. "I will be returning to the Welsh after this visit, as they have asked my presence. I was treated well there the last time I was there, and I hope that I can defuse some of your current tensions with them while I am there." |

"I personally believe Ireland is in danger, though those are not the thoughts of the High King. He said he and the King of Britain came to an understanding, that neither nation should attack the others soil. In any case, Ireland will declare war on Britain if it invades the Republic, but I am gladdened the Empire will have our back should Ireland itself be put in danger. "Anyhow, let me not hold you. The Welsh have gone mad. Perhaps you can talk some sense into them." |

"Very well then," he responded, "I will talk to the Welsh. And the British will be talking with the emperor in the future. You can be certain that any agreement we make with them will guarantee your security as a condition. Good bye friend." After Lord Aldebaran and the O'Neill had said there byes, he made his way back to Wales. |
