The Middle East

I think we need some action in the Middle East again. The problem is, there are hardly any nations there to fight each other.

The Roman Empire stands dominant, with Edessa and Alexanderhaven allied to it. Paradise stands invincible as always. Al-Qalaa has mysteriously stopped RPing for quite some time now.

We have accomplished the impossible: peace in the Middle East.

I'm willing to bring Edessa into an independent and unique status to give someone a war akin to those of old. I need only an opponent.

I've always thought that the Middle East and Asia should be one continent. Neither have much activity and RPs tend to not cross regional borders, so fusing the two would possibly help activity wise. North and South America are on the same map, so why not the ME and Asia?

Because the Middle East is the core region. This is the Middle East forum. Everything else is addenda. It would make more sense to fuse all the other regions together than to ever touch the Middle East.

Yeah much like religious belief and some historical facts, the Middle East is where all other regions sprang forth from lol

That being said, just give it time...we've barely started to RP again in what has been traditionally our more active regions as of late (Europe mostly). Sometimes it is difficult for people to run multiple RPs and since most of our world is made up of multiple nations controlled by single players, activity is sacrificed in some regions over others. Eventually action will die down in one region and blow up in another.

That's a problem I've been having. I've been so enthusiastic and active with Venice, that I've neglected my other nations. Mix that with my lack of creativity, and I don't have much to start up with the Confederation or Celebes. I have a few interesting ideas with the FC, but not much for Celebes. I don't want to get rid of them, but I don't want to unite them either, as it defeats the purpose of my civil war.

I thought about breaking Celebes up into colonies for Venice and the FC, but far reaching territories for small countries don't have as much value as they would if the time period was set back a couple hundred years. I dropped TAf for this very reason.

What to do, what to do...

See if you can try to hand it off to another player or even a new player.

Merge the regions and it would only compound any lack of activity in said region. I continue to contend that South America has suffered for being lobbed together with the North.

Again just give it time, someone is bound to start a story and before you know the focuses will shift. I've always found it best to, if nothing else, keep up a news thread and post in it when I have nothing better to do or don't feel like anything else lol. He helps remind me of what I've got with that nation and sometimes help me to think of where I want to go.

At the moment I have plans for Asia and the Middle East, but just haven't gotten to them yet.

I have Ulgania based in Africa, but I do a lot in the Middle East and Europe with it.

I'm beginning to agree, and I think we could do with at least two more regions, South America and Australia/Micronesia.

An Oceania of sorts?

I'd support an Oceanic region. The islands are small, and there are so many, it'd be an ideal location for new members and there small nations.

Many of the islands in the region aren't portrayed, but if the area was made it's own region, the map would be larger and more of the islands could be shown.

Oceania would be pretty awesome. Would encourage activity, I think, in Australia, and prove plenty of opportunity to RP in that part of the world.

That said, as this conversation is about the Middle East, I have sent in a request for a New Ottoman/Turkish Empire to be put on the map. Hopefully, it can help sprk activity.

I don't think they'd use a different map. That's the whole point of Kybelis, to have a unified map system!

Well, Toussaint, if you want a war between these Turks and Edessa, that'd be great.

I'll make Edessa independent if you're up for it. It's not a very powerful nation, though it is respectable on its own. I may want some Romans to back me up, but I'd like to see such a war be fair and balanced (not like Fox News).

A war with the Edessans would sound good. Of course, we could tweak it in whatever way needed to be more fair.

If you're interested, PM me and we can discuss details.
