Map Tsar and Southern Gentleman Posts: 9,266 Group: Admin Member #120 Joined: April 21, 2005	IT SHOULD BE MENTIONED THAT THIS NEW SYSTEM IS A TEST SYSTEM AND WILL ONLY BE APPLICABLE FOR THE EUROPEAN AND MIDDLE EAST MAPS. ALL OTHER MAPS OPERATE ON THE OLD SYSTEM, PLEASE FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS ON THE MAP IF THERE ARE ANY CONFUSIONS. The Middle East Map Commentary Thread is the place where all discussions relating to the Middle East map should be held. Most importantly, this thread is design so that you the player may activity request for a spot on the map or an expansion of your area on the map. Understand that expansion/annexations are considered a privilege and therefore you do not automatically get what you ask for. After you've requested an annexation/expansion, the mapmaker will then contact you on whether or not you may expand/annex the requested area. If you've been cleared for an expansion/annexation you must then RP the said expansion/annexation. The mapmaker will then take into account the region's response to your declared expansion and/or annexation and determine whether or not you will receive the land you requested. If you are violently opposed by all members of the region IC for your expansion/annexation, you can assume the expansion/annexation will be denied. Likewise, if everyone in the region expresses their IC approval of the expansion/annexation, then you can assume you shall receive the requested expansion/annexation. If the response falls somewhere in the middle then the mapmaker will take other elements into account and decide accordingly. Also note that not only are you asked to make present requests for annexations/expansions but this thread is also design so that you the player can make future requests as well. Is there an area on the map that is currently occupied but you'd still like to own it someday? Then make that request here so that it can be logged. Also, some players are willing to give up areas that they currently own to new players so making a request here and now allows those players to see whose interested in their territory so that they may contact you if they're willing to give up that territory. Remember that territory available or territory that becomes available is first and foremost left for new nations. These can be either nations newly created by old players or new nations created by entirely new players. So if a player requests a plot of newly available land for a new nation then they shall receive priority to that plot of land over any other requests made for it either at the time the land became available or a request that was made months or years in advance. Furthermore this thread is design to ultimately make every request public so that there are no assumptions made about areas on the map. Should you see that a player has already requested an area you may wish to receive, contact this player and see if some reasonable agreement between the two of you can be reached. So please, if you have a land request for now or the present, please place is here in BOLD Type so that we the mapmakers can easily see it. The Following is the different types of land requests and what information you should provide so that the mapmaker can process the request faster. Expansion/Annexation Request -Please state whether this is a current request of a future request -Please state the area you wish to expand/annex -If this is a future request, please state who currently owns the area you are requesting New Nation Request - General location of where you want your nation to sit - The RL city for where you want the nation's capitalto be lcated - The name of that capital whether you want it to be the same as the RL city or something new. - Name of the Nation - Link to the NationStates nation that will represent it on the map Finally, note that this thread is also designed for any other commentary that you think is necessary on the topic of the map. Can't see the map? Has your request been processed wrong? Do the numbers not match the correct nation on the list? Is the wrong account being linked to your nation on the map key? Basically, the old lands of Sedulion. These would be expansions of Edessa, which would become a sovereign nation and renamed at that point, akin to old Sedulion. Don't get me wrong, I love the Roman Empire and would like to see it stay intact, but I feel I left the region too hastily. I've been feeling Sedulionic nostalgia lately, and it seems the Middle East doesn't get enough action these days.

Posts: 4,188 Group: Global Mods Member #415 Joined: February 19, 2008	This doesn't have anything immediately to do with the map, but as my "The Truth Is Hard To Come By" RP continues I will have Porcu defeat the Islamic militia TIM in Tanzania and expand the African territory. At the same time, with parts of the Middle East opening up, I see the opportunity to have a possible conflict between nations of the Middle East and Porcu. I was thinking about "going after" additional Islamists directly in the Middle East, having regional powers protest/attack, and a war break out. I put this here because depending on how things go, I could end up with a small territory here (I surely do not count on it though). I also wanted to gauge everyone's opinion.

I was just thinking that when Porcu goes after these Islamists it would be better for me if the area was grey and unoccupied rather than part of a sovereign nation, such as Alexanderhaven.
