"Work is the curse of the drinking classes."

So I've been working on an extensive national description/factfile for Porcu, which you can find here, and was wondering about a couple of things:

1. What do you think about it?
2. What are some questions about Porcu's culture, military, politics, etc. that you'd like answered or wondered about before?

The first question is for my immediate benefit, that way I know if the outline I'm using is working well or not. The second question is one that I also cannot answer on my own. Naturally, I've included some big ideas/concepts so far (there's much more to be posted) but I want to make sure that the description is the place you can go to for information.

Essentially, I would very much appreciate your help and input.

I think it's very interesting and definitely informative. Now I'll have to update my to not be outdone.

My one suggestion is that in the history portion you include links to topics that have a major point in Porcu's (Do I have to put the name in bold if I'm talking about the country, not the person? Did so anyway, just to be safe. ^^ ) history, like Sebastian Gassel's assassination or the transfer from a fascist to democratic state.

Also, the picture at the beginning was a good choice.

Do you want to die?

If not then do it.

Haha...I'm actually not sure myself! I suppose it is better to be safe than sorry. :P

Btw, thanks for the response.

I personally would like to see a little bit more about Nixon.

The name of the player Porcu is to be put in bold text; not the name of the nation Porcu, which is to be left in normal text.

I personally would like to see a little bit more about Nixon.
Which one? There's Nixon the Elder, former President and father of current Nixon and President, and Nixon the Younger, the current one.

Telo, my history is going to be one of the last things I finalize but inserting links to RPs sounds like a good idea.

TC, thank you for forwarding the decision of the Supreme Seraphic Tribunal.

I've considered making either an OOC-styled list of topic links with Ulganian / Chilsherdian / Fen involvement in them, or writing up a wiki-style IC history with topics linked as necessary. Something I've wrangled with for a while.

I like your goal on being comprehensive. Those kinds of things always bring peoples' nations out of the esoteric mental realm to a medium other people can understand

Forget bolding or not bolding Porcu's name. Just give him a nickname that will allow us to differentiate.

As for the idea, I like it. I'm kinda doing something like that myself, except its done in the eyes of a specific fringe group and has no links. Speaking of which, I have to update that...

I like it - this is the sort of thing I was aiming to do with my national description, accounting for differences peculiar to the nations, though I am rather lazy about such things.

I also like it. Personally I've used my national description on the forums to reflect only the most dire of information (Leader names, how the government functions, name & CEOs of major companies, major family factions, etc, etc) and have left my wiki page for the more in-depth information. However, in-depth is kind of a stretch though since when it comes to history, I usually list it under the leaders and provide little links. I guess I'm like RD, and just a bit lazy when it comes to these things. Still, I love the work Porcu, keep it up as I believe a lot of us like reading these things...just few of us have the drive and energy to do such projects.

Oh and I know some of you haven't entirely enjoyed using it but I still encourage people to make pages on NS-wiki. A few years back we had something of a boom and we were able to fill up our NWR Category page but it kinda died out since then. Not even sure if anyone beyond myself even use it anymore. I was actually experimenting with building our own Nation States World Region wiki kinda like Wookieepedia or Memory Alpha but I didn't really get very far. If people would be seriously interested with that I'd love to get together with people who know more about this stuff that I do and I can show you what I have so far. If you're interested though, PM me, no need cluttering up/hijacking this thread.

As soon as the Dominion storyline is finished, I'll happily parse the war into a wiki page there. It's gonna be fun getting 25-IC years of history and battles down though. Hoo boy.

Okay, I looked it all over. I like it. I provides the kind of in depth information I like to see in a nation description. Not too much and not too little.

Nope. I honestly think you hit the nail on the head as far as balance and material. History sections are the only think I like to be very expansive, and you have plenty. If you really want to expand it, however, I would say a section on the People and Culture would do some good.

I need to go in such depth for Ireland.
