I think so. I do not watch a lot of TV, certainly less than 5 hours a week, but I happened to be watching the initial results of the local elections around the country when V came on. I liked it. Thoughts, anyone? |

I thought so too. The dialogue was laughable and making Morena Baccarin look that creepy is a feat. Interesting show though. |

I really enjoyed it, having been faithfully glued to the TV for the first version 20 years ago. Yes, I see the parallels to Obama, but they aren't playing them up at all, it is ABC after all! I have also been watching (or at least recording) the Thursday night ABC thingy, about the world loosing conciousness all at once on one day. I forget the name of it, though. |

V was originally a sci-fi miniseries on NBC. My dad says he remembers watching it before I was born. At any rate, I doubt it would be a criticism of Obama if the plot hasn't changed since the 1980s. I didn't watch it tonight, though, I was busy trying to make myself start a research paper, so I don't know what it's about. |

Very true. It will be interesting to see if such connections can be drawn from future episodes, but I might actually get into this series if only for the occasional (if unintentional) slap at Obama. The other series is called Flashforward. The only reason I know that is because of the commercials they ran during the premier of V. |

I've been watching Flashforward too. It's an interesting premise. I've never even heard of V. |

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the lurkiest of them all?

Will watch it on Hulu tomorrow, or next week if it's on a delay, dunno. Flashforward is meh. Had an interesting concept, but hasn't been that good. |

Haven't seen it. Don't watch tv. But from what I've read, it seems to be a critique of nazism. And since Obama is Hitler's ideological heir, it would follow that V could be interpreted as a critique of Obama. |

Yeah V is just a remake of an 80's (I believe) mini-series that wasn't that good the first time around but could show promise this time around so long as its not about lizard people coming to earth to eat us. As for a critique, I'm not say its not but it just seems like they would have gotten in put together in a hurry if it was since the man's not even been in office a year. |

He was in office 11 days and got nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, can we not start critiquing him after 11 months? Last nights election showed that already, republicans swept all but one senator race. |

Yeah, but Americans (if not people in general) tend to very fickle and reactionary. They voted for Obama because they didn't get what they want from the Republican leadership in previous years. Now they're voting the Republicans back in because they haven't gotten what they want so far in this leadership strata. With the exception of reps/senators who have become permanently entrenched in their districts, most incumbents are rarely safe from being voted out by the average, fickle American voter. |

Do you think that if people don't get what they want from the politicians, then people should vote to keep those politicians in office? Edited by Tristan da Cunha, Nov 4 2009, 02:07 PM.

I don't want to be unpolite, but it is clear that you Americans need your twenty years of FAscist regime to understand what means being Hitler's political heir . It's true that I am very far from America, but it seems to me that Obama is a decent president, particularly for his attempt to reform the healthcare system . |

There are a lot of differences between Americans and Europeans, and I don't want to go into that. But I will say that Americans like their Government smaller, and Obama is going for a European styled Government, and most Americans don't like that. |

Really, really creepy, and hot! All of the aliens are hot. Someone even observes in character that there are no ugly aliens! No Robert Englund, but you can't have Freddy Kruger everywhere!! I do think it will be better than the original, and, hopefully, not so corny. |

Yeah I don't think they're going for the man eating lizards this time, which could be an improve IMO. An with Morena Baccarin hottness very well established its surprising that she hasn't made the list yet. |
