Particularly the older ones. Lately, I've been trying to find two games from my child hood in the early 90s. Well, 3, but I found one "Earthworm Jim"!

The other two I have been unable to identify.

One was a 3D game. It involved cars or hovercrafts of some sort, and flags. It was a Microsoft game, I think, exclusive. There may have been bumper car type things.

The other is a 2D game. It involved a blue... creature (i want to say dinosaur). There was a scary woods level that I remember, as well as others. IIRC the end of the game involved a huge pit. It was a platformer.

Both were played on a PC. The time period is Windows '95.

Do any of these ring a bell? Does anyone have a list of games released by year with screenshots? :D

Come on old gamers! Don't let me down!

If you ever find the first game, please let me know! IIRC, it came packaged with a friend's Windows 95, and I've never been able to find it. It might have just been called "Hover."

EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hover!

Huh, look at that. Haven't looked in a couple of years, and poof. I'll post with a download soon as I find one m'self.

I'm actually working on getting a port to DS for DN3D.
I still play UT.
I just started a Master of Orion II game with a friend who has it. Never played it before. It's kinda like Civ. Pretty boring. I like making a custom race that eats production instead of food.
And, of course, I own most of the old sonic games.

Thanks for making me want to play Shadow Warrior and SimTower.

SimTower, wow. I had almost forgotten about that.

I always liked my online games, I started playing MUDs (Text-based MMOs) in about 6th grade.

I don't know... It was so much better then anything else at that time. It is definitely top 5. My personal #1.

there is a specific multiplayer song from Goldeneye that has been stuck in my head for over 10 years. And its one of the rarer tunes too...

For all the songs people upload on youtube from videogames, one cannot find that one...

I have UT3, but it was never anywhere near as good as UT2004. Need to install that next time I'm Louisiana-side. I used to play it like crazy.

Same with Master of Orion III. Insanely large game. But I never felt any need to go back to it after Sins of a Solar Empire came out. I just wish SINS took more attributes from Orion.

I always wanted to get into Duke Nukem. It's a matter of finding playable version for Vista.

I'm going to get back into C&C: Red Alert, and maybe if I have the time, Elder Scrolls: Arena. Wish I could find a cheap copy of Daggerfall.

That reminds me. I miss Colony Wars. I was always expecting a CW4 on PS2, but it never came.

Essentially, it was a starfighter shooter, influenced by the Anglo-Dutch wars. Awesome series.

Starfox = THE GREATEST GAME EVER!
I do hope you're referring to the 64 version, which was undoubtedly the best rail shooter ever produced.

EDIT: Best Games List

First-Person Shooter
Singleplayer: Metroid Prime
Multiplayer: Team Fortress 2

Action-Adventure/Platformer
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Hon. Mention: Super Mario 64

Rail Shooter
StarFox 64

RPG
Final Fantasy VII
Hon. Mention: Deus Ex

Real-Time Strategy:
StarCraft

Genres in which the most recent release in any given series is generally considered the best (sports, racing, fighting) have been omitted.

When I decided to beat the Elite Four, in any Pokemon game, I like to go for massive overkill. I put it off for a month on my first game, Blue, because I had to get everyone to level 100 before attempting my first try.

I don't remember who was with me, but I can say the best guys in the group were a Charzard, Gyarados, and whatever the last form of the first bird thing you run into is.

Lylat Wars isn't really a "rail shooter". House of the Dead is a rail shooter. Time Crisis is a rail shooter.

Metroid Prime is not "the best FPS". For a start it's an FPA.

Deus Ex is a better RPG than FF7. Fable (either, take you pick) are better RPGs than Deus Ex.

StarCraft has hideously unbalanced units.
