OCC: You know what would be great now, if there was a religion here who wanted the destruction of Rome. Is there any way I could jump in this? |

OOC: Srolonka's becoming a colony of former Neo-Genesians who split with the church years ago and were (mostly) slaughtered by the (now defunct) Holy Catholic Hegemony, and some of the population may have a few things to say later on. |

OOC: There kinda is. Scythirus is a pagan nation (A powerful one I might add) who waged war against Catholic Europe. I'm sure that they would love to see Rome burn. |

OOC: Yup, this is in the age of the Dominion. Approximately after the end of the war in Europe but during the war in the Americas. However, for the sake of the Dominion story I'm going to let this sit until the Dominion Wars are over and then pick up from there. |

OOC: Seconded. I intend to do a crusade on Rome, depending on what backing I get. Of course, we're letting the Dominion get summed up before any of that. Any crusade against Orthodoxy is suicide. |

I'm just a pain in your ass today  Although I made that post when there were more on topic posts. And with that I'm going to make one or two on topic posts. But to make this post at all relevant, I'll say this much: With all the talk on crusades that are Christian v Christian, why not kick it back old school? I would offer up Sahndaq as a state that's been in the midst of an Arab nationalistic revolution. If people don't mind, it could be RP'd that its power has grown exponentially for whatever artificial reason, has attacked Rome, and taken Egypt. From there, it's been raiding vestiges of Rome, and of course in cahoots with the DCA in Africa to subvert Ulganian authority, and planning terrorist attacks on the Holy Catholic Commonwealth, and other such things. A crusade could be launched, and Ulganian/Roman power would eventually be restored. However, that would be inclusive to Genesian states. Either way it's a suggestion all the same |

This thread would be the perfect flimsy pretext to remove a chunk of Nagian power from the Dominion. Weren't we looking for that so that the Freestates can march on Zapht without taking out Nag Ehgoeg first? Would it totally derail the thread if some Nagian requisitioned a Dominion force to go take Rome - leading to bitter resentment, in-fighting and politicking that takes Nag Ehgoeg out of the picture for a while? Feel free to say "yes it would totally derail the thread - STFU!" It's, like, nearly 1AM so I realise this might not be the best of ideas. |

Hmm.... How about, Ireland and Venice (and anyone who wants to join) get pissed at the HCC and TO and attack them around Rome. Then, the Arabs in Sahndaq see an opportunity to boost Islam's stance in world affairs by suddenly attacking everyone in Rome. As a result, Ireland, Venice, HCC, and TO have to forge a crusade (Since the crusaders were from opposing countries IRL) and march on Sahndaq. Afterwards, both sides of the Rome conflict see that the other is more or less equally matched and settle on some sort of compromise. Just a thought. :D
Yes, it would totally derail the thread! STFU! |
