I think I understand why I chose Political Science as my major now. I want to be able to argue my position based on my own knowledge rather than based on someone else's. As a PhD in Poly Sci, I would be an expert in whatever concentration(s) I chose. That'd be sweet! ^^ But on that same note, I'd also want to be a History, Psychology, and Theology expert. I have a lot of learning to do. BUT that's another point of being Poly Sci. If I do somehow get into a position of power, I can just have others back up my position for me! |

Double majors in History and English. I love both, and I want to be a publisher. |

I chose Maths as my major because a) I enjoyed maths three years ago and b) It was the only thing I was vaguely good at. I now see that both of these were untruths. Shoulda stuck with Engineering, though I am glad I did Mech instead of Civil... (Engineering was my minor. Shoulda just done it as a full degree. Oh well.) |

I don't know in the US, but here in Quebec a political science degree is almost worthless to find a job. |

I started out as an engineering major full of optimism and self confidence but burned out and died. I switched to a biology and history double major, but then dropped history because I couldn't fit a required class into my schedule. Therefore I ended up with just biology. Recently I've been thinking of getting involved with engineering topics again, which would require vast amounts of reading and thinking about math and I've never been great at math. I'm not sure what my major will be. My interest may be different by then. As of now, it'll be something along the lines of history. My minor will be buisness, which everyone should take at least a few courses in. |

I'm majoring in professional writing. Basically, it's geared toward freelance writing for magazines and the like, though it can also be geared towards fiction writing, screenplays, or TV writing. My intent for a practical career is to use that degree to become a copy editor for a decent newspaper or magazine while doing some freelance writing on the side. If I get good enough at that and make some money at it, woot. If not, copy editing starts at just under $30,000 out of college and goes up with experience. It's not a luxurious life, but $28k/year is still double the poverty level for an unmarried man in the US and will be an easy enough job, not horribly demanding. |

I am probably either doing something with business or journalism. Those are Ohio's top two colleges, and I have an interest in both. Since my goal is to own my own business, and my current business is actually a website based on sports journalism online, well they both obviously would make sense. Hopefully my current venture takes off so I don't even need a degree... ;) Need to stop posting and actually get on that though... |

It's probably the same here too, except I plan on getting some kind of advanced degree or another. Maybe dabble in teaching, maybe go in the direction of Washington and join the ranks of the belligerent lobbyists. It's good pay at least. I'd really like to work -in- Washington, doing something important, maybe do something that gets me up the bureaucratic chain a little faster. Or join the Foreign Service. Traveling the world on the government's dime would be something awesome. |

I heard the military has a program which pays for your college, and you serve after you are done with college. I might just have to take this path. |

hell no, that would be like a slap in the face to all my ancestors. National guard is for people who are too afraid to go to war, if I am correct. |

Indeed. I have the family tree of Lieutenant Dan (Expect they all got wounded instead of dieing, My grandfather survived a kamikaze attack at Leyte gulf. His uncle was killed at Belleau wood. His grandfather lost his leg at Fredricksburg taken POW and survived Andersonville. His father was wounded by British shellfire while defending New York Harbor during the war of 1812. His father survived Valley forge and fought with George Washington. While my mother's mother's family tree is the same thing but in Germany, my great-grand father was gassed on the Western Front, then later kill by the SS for speaking against Hitler.) |

Lucky, The most i know goes back to my great great grandfather who fought in WW1, but anything before that i don't really know. Both of my grandfathers served in the marines. The one on my dad's side came over to America from Canada and joined the marines to get citizenship. The one on my mom's side fought in everything from WW2 up to a little passed the Vietnam war. And I plan on carrying out this tradition. |

Economics, because I got into Wharton and want to pursue a career in business management, specifically to become the general manager of a professional sports franchise. Or I could always go the investment banker route and get mad dough. |
