I have a thread in the Resources subsection of the greater international section here and was wondering if it could be archived. Austronesian Design Consortium is the name of it, by the way. Ah, I was also wondering if when I specify a font in a post, there is any way for me to specify alternates like in a CSS HTML thread line. I ask in case I ever specified a font someone did not have. Thanks very much! |

Done. And no. If you specify a font someone else doesn't have then it just displays the default font. |

Thanks so much, on both accounts. I'll stick to web safe fonts then like Verdana and Georgia. |

I never do. A (pretty terrible), work around would be to post in the weird font of your choice, take a screen shot, host that image online, then post that image. Or you could do what I do and just post the weird font. If people don't have it, then they just see the regular default font and if they do have it then good for them. As Windows has a huge number of fonts and most browsers can access the font registry in Windows, there's a good chance that other people have the font you plan on using anyway. But if you want full compatibility and to use different fonts, then websafe is your best bet. |

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the lurkiest of them all?

On linux here, and small-footprint linux at that, so I've probably got a library of thirty fonts, heh.
