It's not going to work. I've run it fifty times. I've left it running for the past three hours and it's still it running. I'd bet dollars to donuts that it's a server side problem. Firefox just runs forever and pretends to scan. Internet Explorer scans and prints my computer's components to the screen, but doesn't allow me to continue and forces me to restart after I refresh. And refreshing is the only way you can get it to do anything, because there isn't a continue button.

Sorry for the double post, but I finally got it.

Use Internet Explorer, first of all. I really hate the browser on principle, but it's the only way I could make it work. Go to the website, run the system scan, and the scan will print your computer components to your screen. You bottom of the little window won't be visible and you won't be able to see the save and continue button at the bottom. So all you have to do is hit the tab key a couple times so that the bottom of the window shows instead of the top and hit the continue button.

I tried everything in Firefox. I reinstalled my browser. I reinstalled Flash. I reinstalled Java. None of it works. The system scan will just sit there and spin indefinitely. If you want to play the game, you should seriously consider downloading IE if you don't have it already. I heartily recommend deleting it as soon as you're signed up for the beta, but if you're having the problem I'm having, I don't think you're going to get past it without Explorer.

Their server has been horribly overloaded since beta registration was opened. Apparently they weren't ready for this many applications. Persistence is the name of the game.

It's been scanning for... 7 hours. :furious:

Nothing is coming up. I'm at the part where the REALLY annoying looking droid is next to a "holographic" loading bar with a the statement "Scanning is Progress" above it.

Use Internet Explorer, if you're not already. If you are, then go ahead and reinstall Java and Flash, restart, and give it another try. It's like a ten second scan.

Firefox in Vista. Scan was pretty fast. Did it just now, as soon as I saw this thread. Thanks for the heads up, Telo.

Okay, I discovered it didn't work because I wasn't eligable. That's what I get for being honest about my age.

So I made a gmail account, edited my existing SWTOR account to that email, and made a new SWTOR account using my normal email but with a different age. I was born in 1990, right? :whistling: I signed up to be a tester, and it worked instantly.

Yeah, I think you have to be eighteen or older because of the non-disclosure agreement, et al. You can't enter into legally binding contracts without your parent or guardian's signature. I'm not positive an NDA would be binding even then. It probably would, but they probably just don't want to screw with it. Unless you flagrantly violate the terms of the beta, you're not going to have a problem, but there are reason for the age other than the risk of offending the sensible sensibilities of minors such as yourself.
