I thought the new military rules required a tattoo be small enough to be covered by your hand? You must have very big hands . . . which means . . . oh my! |

It depends on the branch. The Marine corp does not allow tattoos that are visible while wearing a short sleeve shirt, while the Navy is by far the most lax on tattoos. All branches do not allow gang/drug/racist tattoos (this often includes the Confederate Flag), the Navy only really cares about this rule. But yes both of my tattoos can be covered by one hand. I don't really think I have exceptionally large hands, but I'm 6'2, if I had baby hands that would be funny as hell. |

The promised Endorphin rush did not come. It was like a knife assault throughout the entire process. But I have to say, my tattoo looks pretty B.A. |

I never felt the process while getting a tattoo - it was always painful. In a few months though, you will start to think to yourself (or at least I did)... I want another. |

Well the pain varies depending on person and place. I fell asleep during my shoulder piece but my chest felt like raw hamburger meat when it was done. But you really do start to want more tattoos.... |

Sounds as adictive as heroin! Glad I avoided it all these years. |

That is a very well done tattoo, good choice of artist. |

Yeah, I def lucked out in my choice of artist. I could not afford the high quality hipster tattoo parlors in Brooklyn, so I had to settle for the grungy tattoo parlors in central Long Island. Most of the "artists" in that area were downright terrible. By chance there was an unassuming and diminutive Korean whose craftsmanship was far superior to his shop-mates, and almost as good as the best Brooklynite artists. So I got a nice tattoo at a relatively bargain price. |

I will never get a tattoo, unless I'm forced to. If I want something artistic, I'll paint. |

You guys are right about tatoo addiction...I definitely am fantasizing about getting more tattoos- on my upper back, left forearm, and left shoulder. They would be much smaller and simpler than my calf tattoo so at least I would be spared of the massive pain involved. |

Go big on the shoulder, it's one of the least sensitive areas, unless you can find a way to make it blend in with other tattoos. If it's small and by itself it will look awkward. |
