Communism is to "Mother Russia" what the United States is to "Native America tribal society". But yeah, we'll have to disagree here. I'm anti-communist to the bone. |

Ha. Well, not even on paper. But the terms commie and Russian tended to go hand in hand back in the day. I'm unnaturally enthusiastic about both, even though my view aren't very communist anymore. |

They made communism work as well as it reasonably could in their country, or most countries. No, everything they did was not right out of Marx, but that was because they didn't have the luxury of sitting back and theorizing, but had to live in the real world, running a country, instead. Stalinism is different from Marxism, absolutely. It is as different as an oak is from an acorn. |

You know, it was either Lenin or Stalin, but for a while they experimented with free enterprise at least in the agricultural sector. Farmers didn't have modern equipment and the state couldn't afford the equipment. Limited free enterprise allowed the farmers to gain this equipment and make much more profit. However, as soon as it seemed to be getting too free, the policy was taken back. I suppose it did get Russia the modern equipment it needed to get going at the very least. |

Yes, that was a great idea. If only they had been courageous enough to break their ideological prison, and build on that approach. Of course, that would slowly destroy any semblence of communism, but that is a worthwhile trade, isn't it? |

Aesthetically, I think the large handle makes it look pretty comical, timeless symbol or not. I'm also with Quaon on this one. Large tattoos don't really appeal to me. Even if you never regret the message or the symbol, the aging process will make it look like crap eventually anyway. |

For some strange reason, I've recently become fascinated with getting a tattoo. I blame college. Its strange, as I've been generally against tattoos. However, there's only a few designs that really stand out for me. Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image There's just something about the Pacific Northwest Costal Art that draws me in Edited by meh, Aug 30 2011, 02:05 AM.

I have the urge to *have* a tattoo but not to *get* one. I simply don't have the time, money, and wherewithal to get one that I would have had at age 18-22. So I recommend you guys get a tattoo now instead of later. |

The only people who get tattoos are vagrants like criminals, bikers and sailors. So let me post mine! Spoiler: click to toggle The first one is my Scottish's Side's Family Badge (The Nesbits), "I byd it" means I endure it. The second one is the Pour Le Merite. I got this one because the last time this was awarded was WWI, which is the last time I've had a direct family member fight for Germany. I also really enjoy the design. |
