Espionage Anyone?; Just another idea

I've been wondering if NSWR has done a large, rather detailed, James Bond-esque type of RP story line for sometime now. I admit I have not gazed extensively through the archives but I believe that such an RP (or series of RPs rather) has not been done yet. If so, I see a lot of potential not only for individual RPers but for extensive storylines to be drawn connecting seemingly unconnected events all around the world.

I also say James Bond-esque because that's the high-octane RPing style I could see myself getting into as well as providing good reading for everyone else. I have no real ideas as how to start this large story arch/series/timeline as I first wished to gauge everyone's opinion and hear your thoughts if something like this has indeed not yet been done.

Thank you for your time.

I've been trying to set up Colonel al Sandir as the perfect candidate for this kind of thing. Maybe not quite as high octane, but that can certainly change

I could be Ian Fleming for a while if I had the time.

There has been attempts.

Plenty of room in the fall of the Dominion for espionage.

Have they been from states with really active covert networks, or none-state-actors?

I've had ST9 as my intelligence agency in Ulgania for a long time now, but this is really the first time that I've done anything in depth with it (that is, it's playing a huge role in my Succession topic). It's basically MI6 ;)

Alright then...Who would be interested in doing a long-term, multiple RP espionage story line?

Well, I certainly would be.

Actually, I think this topic came up about a year and a half ago....

I have done several RPs with this, but they were either passive in nature or never worked out, with the Peacock being the exception. So if anyone wants to try something, I'm game to help out with the Dominion and all.

Burma, you say?
As I am involved in Indochina, that could be potentially interesting.

Hmmm.
Playing a ilitary government for a little while would be fun. ^^

ok
i still need a couple days though to finish up the details though, but its pretty much going to be Rambo combined with Tombstone combined with Black Hawk Down combined with Vietnam(if the Americans had won)

I see. Sounds awesome so far. Good ol' Jungle war. :D

So, ultimately, you are going to lose?

I see a lot of different events being connected through RPs such as this. As a preliminary, I was brainstorming the idea that the Dominion at one point tried to acquire the bomb and either was successful or not successful (due to the efforts of Coalition spies). First off, if they did end up acquiring the bomb I think they would have used it but maybe not. If they did not end up using the weapon another RP could detail where those weapons ended up after the Fall of the Dominion.

I'm just throwing out an idea...

That'd be nice except the Dominion already has the bomb. Several of the founding nations were/are nuclear powers. Now as to why they haven't been used in the war is a mix of OOC wish for actual story rather than "fight, nuke, win" and the fact that no one wants to have their nation nuked, but also for plot purposes that won't play out during the Dominion arc proper.

Kas, you still have one or two of those enormous rail guns sitting around, right? It could be a mission to disable one of those, as opposed to how we dealt with East Ziyer.
