Map Tsar and Southern Gentleman Posts: 9,266 Group: Admin Member #120 Joined: April 21, 2005	Spoiler: click to toggle Map Rules -Any and all decisions regarding the map are at the discretion of the mapmaker. -A player shall not annex territory unless this annexation is approved by the Mapmakers. Puppet Rules/Colonies -A player shall not have more than one nation per region on the map. The only exception are in the cases of having a nation in the a hinge area. Hinge areas are defined as those areas which are represented on multiple maps. Thus a player who places a nation in a hinge area is allowed to create a second nation so long as it is within the region that they fell into because of the hinge area and not their original region. -Puppet nations are prohibited from binding together for purposes of war or embargoes. It is an illegitimate and cheatful way of manipulating your strength artificially. -Colonies are prohibited from having an army. They can have a garrison which can only be used for defensive purposes. The army is represented by the army of the colonizing nation. This is to deter nations from artificially increasing their armed forces by creating four colonies and then adding all the armies. Well if you're lazy you can hit the spoiler instead. Basically the new rules touch on the Hinge areas and how we deal with them. In the if a player establish a nation on the hinge, say in Egypt and was therefore represented in Africa and the Middle East, we would make that player put his real nation in one region and a "mirror nation" in the other region on NS. However, given that a mirror nation are worthless we have gotten rid of that rule. However, to clarify just in case there is confusion, a Colony is not a mirror nation. You will still have to create accounts to represent Colonies as that account will represent everything for the colony except for Defense Spending. As it has been since the dawn of time, defense of the colonies is the sole responsibility of the mother nation and its defense spending capabilities. Now the other change to the rules comes in the form of our old "1 nation per region rule." Though that still stands (except for the Americas of course) we have made exceptions for hinge are nations. Now Hinge nations may create a second nation so long as it is not within the region they started in. Example: I create a Egyptian nation in, well Egypt of course :P Now of course Egypt is a area in Africa there for my nation goes in the African Continent on NS. However, because of the Hinge I know fall into the Middle East. I would like to create a nation in Iraq. Old rules say I can't, however because of the new rules I can. If there is still confuse you may of course ask your questions and I'll try to rephrase myself as best as I can to make it clear but I think everything is pretty cut and dry. Just thought I'd make a topic on this so it was out there and everyone knew the update.
