New Acropolis, Holy Catholic Commonwealth... The sweet breezes from the western coast of Africa swept through the ever growing city often. It had been a few months since the Commonwealth government began to form, began to rally the people and once again fill them with purpose. reconstruction was slow as the Dominion watched their every move. Raids were conducted by Dominion troops patrolling the area constantly, forcing much of the South Africans work to be delayed. The Queen despised the Dominion for many reasons and would just as well see them burn in hell's fire. The country though, remained weak and acting alone against the Dominion was not a move she was willing to take. Thus the Commonwealth trekked carefully around what territory it claimed as its own. They made no provocative moves against the Dominion but did not take their eyes of them either. Scouts loyal to the crown watched the trade routes and major highways used by the Dominion daily. Her majesty wanted to know as much as possible when it came to the Dominion's movements. This would prove to be a valuable tactic as the reserve forces now occupying Southern Africa soon began moving North in interesting large numbers. "Your majesty, I see every indication in these reports that the Dominion is refocusing their strength towards North Africa. Strategically there is more to gain by strongest there. Should their efforts fail in Europe, a strong North Africa will provide yet another layer of defense for their core regions of the Middle East and Asia. There is simply nothing to gain by wasting valuable forces here in the south. If Southern Africa ever had a chance to be free, a strike now would be there best chance." Such conversations were the focal point of many of her majesty's meetings with what little a command staff she had. Only the most loyal of officers had remained with the services of the noble families to operate their militias. It encompassed a small but certainly elite force of the former governments most promising and intelligent officers. She valued their opinions in matters of warfare as she herself had little intellect for the subject. However, though she lacked a strategic mind she did have for herself a realist's sight. Though the Commonwealth had a sizable force of man power and certainly had the power to draft many more to their cause, they lacked the military hardware necessary to fight in modern war. Few if anything had remained of the old government's stockpiles. Most had been taken by the Dominion and what was left by them was taken by outlaws. Thus if the Commonwealth was to fight it would need not only a ally on the battlefield by a supplier of weapons as well. After much debate within the small inner circle of the nobility it was decided that Ulgania posed as the Commonwealth's best chance for both an ally and a supplier. They were already engaged with Dominion forces and were proving their ground. They were also Genesian which made working with them easier for the monarchy to handle. However, the history between the two countries was a rocky one. The former government did invade their country and leave much destruction in its wake. Still, the Ulganians had to see that times were changing and that in such a dire age the time to ally was now. Her majesty had a letter to be transmitted to the government composed without delay and sent via their best encrypted channels still operational. Encrpyted Transmission To: Chancellor Tres Valentine From: Her Majesty, Juliana dos Santos Aveiro-Medici II If time and opportunity permits I wish to send a diplomat to Ulgania at once to speak on my behalf to you on matters most urgent and pertaining to the future of Southern Africa. |

There was a quick state of confusion in the chancellery. While it had not gone unnoticed to the Ulganian military that the former Hegemony had managed to get a grip of its internal turmoil, the world had seemed to change around it. While several commanders overseeing operations in Metz and tribal areas near the Commonwealth had noted the dismantling of Dominion influence in the area, there was a sense of foreboding. Past relations between Ulgania and the Hegemony were strained from the start. While Ulgania had been less Genesian as it was now, with only an extremely vocal minority crafting a civil war, the Hegemony had reacted with an invasion. "Tres, we still need to use caution," General Tibathian murmured as the chancellor weighed their options. "We also need to gain a foothold. This could just as easily be a chance to ensure that the Catholics hold back from attacking us in the future." "All the same," Tibathian said. "General, I understand your sentiments. I don't trust them either. However, we are in an advantageous position to help them, and they need it as much as we need them. It seems rather clear that this will have to do with the war." Encrypted Transmission To: Her Majesty, Juliana dos Santos Aveiro-Medici II From: Chancellor Tres Valentine The future of our end of Africa is important. The chancellery can be utilized for these discussions, and it would be our pleasure to host a delegation. |

Serpentine, Ulgania... A small unmarked aircraft landed at the airport in Serpentine and came to a halt inside a small hanger near the edge of the airfield. Inside was a single car, the driver outside waiting patiently by the car as the small plane came to a complete stop. It was a small two-seat plane that had landed and when the passenger side door opened out popped a medium sized man, dressed in a rather nice suit. Approaching the car the two gentlemen acknowledged each other with pleasantries and then the driver opened the back door of the car and allowed the man to get in. After returning to the driver's seat the car was driven out of the hanger and made its way back to the highway. While the car sped through downtown Serpentine the man in the back simply took in the sights. His name was Rexon Sekoto and he was the current Minister of Defense for her majesty's government. He had been a low ranking officer in the army of the Hegemony but had the privilege of serving the Uglanian invasion. Thus he had seen the sights before although he did admit to himself that from this new angle things did look different. He did not regret his involvement in the Uglanian invasion nor did many other officers still alive who had also participated. For them, they had acted on God's behalf and stop a potential plague of heresy. Perhaps his only regret was though, that the government collapsed before truly changing the Uglanian people for the better. Had the Hegemony survive, perhaps Ulgania would be as conservatively Genesian as his own people. This was of course all speculation and Minister Sekoto did not dwell on such matters often. The car finally pulled in front of the chancellery building of Serpentine and Minister Sekoto was led out of the car and into the building. After a brisk walk down several hallways of the building he was led into a waiting room and asked to make himself comfortable as his arrival was announced to the Chancellor. Minister Sekoto sat in one of the more plush seats of the room and waited for his chance to meet with the Uglanian government. |

Sekoto did not have to wait for very long. He was quickly led to the Chancellor's office, a large ornate room that had made history several times in the last several years. While Tres Valentine had chosen it only for its convenience for such meetings, the was some indirect symbolism as it was the very room where the war with the Hegemony had reached a climax, and where Marcy Trenks had been gunned down. It was also where Everlet Roberts, a valiant man who only had the better interests of the nation in mind, was killed by Valentine. Roberts had been an innocent victim of the civil war, but his death ushered in the reign of Valentine, whose leadership had led to this symbolic moment. "Please," Tres said to the Commonwealth's Minister of Defense as he entered the office, "have a seat. I trust you ran into no problems in your journey?" he said. The two made idle chitchat as Tres poured himself a cup of tea from the tray that had been set down. The brew was a stronger Russian black tea, and there were small cucumber sandwiches and scones, as well as a number of vegetables with hummus. "Help yourself, there's enough for two," he said with a smile. "Now, Minister Sekoto," Tres finally said after they had talked of travel, the weather, and skillfully dodged troubling subjects. "Minister, we have serious business to speak of. First, while I know our peoples have had differences in the past, I am in power right at this moment because of the former Hegemony. I, and the rest of the chancellery are indebted to you, and the Commonwealth. It is not to be misunderstood to think that my people are not still sore from the past, but given the circumstances we are all facing nowadays..." he said, trailing off as he sipped his tea. |

"Though the Commonwealth has come to deem much of the Hegemony's works of the past to be heresy and forgotten, her majesty and her government do deem that the work of the Hegemony to bring you power as ultimately a good thing." said Sekoto as he took the offer for tea and took a sip. "This is of course not to say that we complete approve to the campaign taken to bring your country to this government but the overall results are certainly something we approve of or of course I would not have been sent. The Commonwealth understands that its people under a different regime made their mistakes. However, regardless of international thoughts they do feel they had atoned for much of it. Many are dead with whole families being completely wiped out. The horrors of anarchy are on a scale close to the wars we now witness today." Minister Sekoto took a sip of his own tea, certainly stronger than he had enjoyed before but certainly not a disapproving taste. He passed on the sandwiches as he wasn't hungry at the current hour. Like much of his life and work in the military, his body had been trained onto a strict schedule, and he would not be hungry again to dinner. To accept a sandwich would jeopardize his stomach to awful pains he'd rather not endure simply for the sake of being diplomatic. "Chancellery, you will have to forgive my ignorance" said Minister Sekoto after enjoying his tea. "The Commonwealth has sent me on matters pertaining to the Dominion. Our own scouts have reported of draw backs in Dominion forces here in Southern Africa. The Commonwealth believes that if our countries are to strike they must do so now or lose our chance at freedom. However, we will admit that we have some ignorance to the current state of affairs between your country and the Dominion. We know you fight them but have little information as to where and to what effect. Though such information may deem such a task impossible, the Commonwealth do wish to propose a joint strike against the Dominion here in Southern Africa to drawn them out and back beyond their borders in old Zolony and east Ziyer." |

“Of course, joint strikes would be favorable at this time,” Tres said, thankful that the topic had changed to tactics and liberation. “In short, we have over a million troops poised to strike at the Kingdom of Metz, on top of an expeditionary force that is in jeopardy of being flushed back to the border. I believe keeping the Dominion from being able to operate at the southernmost end of the continent will be most useful. Further, the desolation in East Ziyer has not prevented an army from trying to march against the same fortresses they failed to take some years ago. I am sure those can hold, but forcing East Ziyer into a multi-campaign could, again, flush out the Dominion’s presence.” Taking a sip of his tea, Tres continued. “Old Zolony does pose a problem, as the Dominion continues to be able to move in any direction, and can strike almost anywhere at will. We can hold our own borders and frontier lands in the north and west, but making an actual push into the Dominion’s maw has yet to be viable. If the Commonwealth is so willing, and an agreement can be reached, Ulgania’s armies can act as a shield, while the Commonwealth is the saber that pierces the Dominion’s armor. “However, while we all know the former Hegemony’s military was on par with any of the greatest in the world, it seems the Commonwealth remains fragile. Outside of intelligence operatives and logistical support, is there anything the Federation can aid you with? We do not wish to see our allies limp alongside us, but in full stride.” |

"It is certainly true that the Hegemony had constructed itself a fine military force" said Sekoto taking a sip of his own tea. "However, with the fall of the government came the fall of the military. The nobility holds on to the most basic of supplies as well as a sizable amount of men. Our biggest problem right now is that most of our industrial sector lay within the now Kingdom of Metz. Thus we are in dire need of the heavy military hardware we cannot at this time produce ourselves. Tanks, artillery, aricraft, and all the other vehicles and machinery necessary to make a successful ground force. I can assure that what we lack in hardware we will make up in numbers and if the Federation will support us with what we lack, we shall support you in extra men on the field." Minister Sekoto took another sip of his tea. Paused a moment to really enjoy to rather strong flavor then continued. "The Commonwealth feels that given their support of the Dominion, the Kingdom of Metz must be completely defeated. Though we have no hard evidence to support it, we are almost completely under the understanding that many in their government are former agents of the Hegemony which survived. Officers, government official, and the like. The Commonwealth feels strongly that if their Kingdom is brought down, we could bring them easily back under the influence of the crown." Minister Sekoto sighed almost silently before continuing. "I must say that the Commonwealth agrees with the Federation's assessment of Zolony in that it would not be an easy campaign to win against the Dominion in that region. That it why the Commonwealth would prefer we instead push the Dominion back into the Zolony borders and contain them there as well as up to Eastern Ziyer. If I may make a crude drawing of what the Commonwealth believes to be the more successful campaign outline." The Chancellor had a map brought to the room and the Minister began to draw lines. Posted Image "Basically we shall conquer the Metz while at the same time, free up the border regions between ourselves and the Dominion Core states, effectively liberation Southern Africa and holding the Dominion farther North from our borders and capitals. Taking Metz may be difficult but both our countries are in a unique position to secure their capital with a quick offensive. Doing this will allow us to turn our attention to the border lands. A push by both our forces may be just enough to force the rather thinner Dominion force into calculated retreats into the more heavily defend areas such as Zolony and East Ziyer. Keeping them there will of course free our countries from immediate threats along our borders and allow us to operate a bit more freely than we can now." |

"Your assessment is of the current situation is correct, but for a small detail. East Ziyer is hardly the Dominion stronghold it once was. Following the destruction of the Zanzibar Gun - which took an inestimably tremendous number of Ulganian lives to accomplish made East Ziyer a wasteland. Every actual Dominion fortress was annihilated, and their attempt to retake the land itself has been solely on shoulders of their forces based in Sennar. "My naval forces can put any established, or developing supply line in contention, as the fall of Catholic Europe allowed for us to recall it to home waters. Between Sahndaq and the southern tip, I can move to have all external supply lines from Europe to the Middle East, to any streaming from Asia to be cut off, and the chaos in Sennar has made most heavy manufacturing impossible. East Ziyer is a hunk of rubble, and the foothold can be challenged. "So, given those factors, I believe East Ziyer is no more a fortress as the desert itself. The Kingdom of Metz is a different story. Local insurgencies have been able to keep the Dominion busy, and their former government was friendly with us. I doubt a total razing of the country is necessary, but many manufacturing centers have been subject to missile strikes and other attacks. The issue of supplies to your people, Minister, may come in the form of the Zeelaran people. Their massive arms industry supplanted many of the Ulganian civilian populations in a homeland defense effort. Many cities have untouched, or no longer need, large caches of weapons and ammunition. Heavier artillery, and armor may have to wait, but the industrial core areas of the country are still alive. Armor can also be shipped down from Zeelar, but such a trek would be dangerous. Armed convoys can move through the middle of the country, but they are subject to Dominion harassment. "The only other detail I can think of may be to get in contact with the Porcuian colonial government for their southern African colony. Their casting out of Dominion influence could come in handy down the road," Tres said, taking a final sip of his tea. |

"Our miscalculation of Eastern Ziyer aside Chancellor" said Sekoto "the Commonwealth does not wish to overstep its ability to fight in Africa as our attention is also in Europe. There are necessary targets we wish to obtain in that battlefield and we fear helping your forces to push the Dominion further back then what I crudely sketched will stretch what manpower we will be able to raise too thin for us to take on other initiatives. We will defer to your judgment on East Ziyer and may even agree to extending the border to encompass East Ziyer, but surely taking on Zolony is not something we in our current state will be capable of." Minister Sekoto poured himself another cup of key. He wasn't exactly thrilled over the lack of support for a full invasion of Metz by the Ulganian Chancellor but it wasn't completely unexpected. Still it was not detour the Commonwealth from launching their own invasion even if they weren't supported by Ulganian troops. |

"No, Zolony will have to wait. I would try to starve the Dominion out, but it's a very self-sustaining land. Such a place could hold its own, even without the help of the Dominion against our forces. "Minister, I believe that is all we need to consider. For now, I will send for the proper documents to be drafted. It should take a day or so to create an arms agreement, but until then please feel free to stay at your leisure in the chancellery, or take in the city if you wish. Despite our own resources being stretched from refugees coming in from all corners of the country, the city has remained a spectacle." OOC: We can do a time skip, and just summarize the arming and logistical operations and get to the dirty work if you would like. |

OOC: Sounds good with me IC: Along the Northern Border, Holy Catholic Commonwealth... It had taken the Commonwealth two months but they raised an army of millions. They were the braves and brightest the country had at the time and they were all eager to service for the Queen and for the country. Their hatred of the Dominion fueled their desires to fight even went the thought of death still lingered in their minds. The Commonwealth did its best to train them but there was only so much the small elite officer core could do in a two month period and the Commonwealth feared waiting too long would jeopardize southern Africa's one chance at taking a stab at the Dominion. Officially the Commonwealth had dropped their discussion of invading the Kingdom of Metz with the Ulganian Federation. They had showed no personal interest in invading the Metz Kingdom and seem to prefer driving the Dominion out versus actually taking the government out and securing the region. This was of course not what the Commonwealth prefer and thus secretly made plans of their own to truly crush the Metz. However, they decided the best way to do this was when the battle in Africa was farther North, turning attention away from the Kingdom and allowing the Commonwealth to operate with some autonomy without the worry that the Federation would try and dictate what they did. To further sew the seeds of deception the Commonwealth had plans to make it look as if they'd have no other choice but to crush the Metz government. The morning of the invasion was a tension situation throughout all of Southern Africa as the two governments worked to ensure everything was ready when the final order was given. The Commonwealth would provide solely strength on the ground while the Federation would add to those ground forces and also provide the armor, naval, and air support the operation would need. They would attack Dominion forces in Metz first, taking out the threat from behind before looking forward. Sweat seemed to pour down ever man's face as they all sat poised for the invasion. Each was extremely eager to begin their march towards the South but all had at least learned enough discipline to hold off until the order was given. Their wait was not long as the final orders were radioed in, the Commonwealth and the Federation were finally ready. Zeelaran riffles in hand the men took their first steps into what was now a foreign soil and read themselves for what would surely be a long fight. Unit chaplains began giving prayers to God as the follow the soldiers into battle. Truly the fate of Africa was in Gods hands now but as far as the Commonwealth was concerned, God was on their side. |

Serpentine, Chancellery In the main war room of the chancellery, General Tibathian read over reports, and watched computer displays concerning the Commonwealth’s deployment patters. “General Comiche, the Commonwealth seems to wish to march right on your sector,” General Tibathian said with a frown. General Comiche quickly stepped into view of the monitors. “So it seems. The previous operations with the Gungir in the area gave us the foothold we needed. The native populations that we could get on our side proved extremely useful. If the Commonwealth plans to go for a total war effort, I doubt a confrontation would be good. However, we should move my expeditionary forces east, pushing to the Indian Ocean coasts.” “That would be right into the heart of Dominion strongholds, you do realize that.” “I know. My plan for now is to make a clear path that keeps the Commonwealth from being able to hit various Metz targets that could destabilize the region.” “You have a million troops in reserve. Do what you will,” Tibathian said. Such words were a rarity from Tibathian. The second-most decorated general in Ulganian history had given full control of an operation to Major-General Comiche, who several weeks earlier had been barely an ambitious Brigadier General with a plan that he could gamble any future promotion on. The attacks he orchestrated against the Dominion in the Kingdom of Metz with the aid of native insurgents had proved effective. He hoped such events could be repeated, but time would tell. Meanwhile, Tibathian began to see to the proliferation of Commonwealth forces that may assist in the north. Southern border areas, 2 KM from the Kingdom of Metz “You all know what to expect out there,” Colonel Asic said, recently promoted from Captain from serving with distinction in Metzian insurgence operations. “We’ll be leading a column of heavy infantry, while the armor is to move directly behind us. We will be linking with Commonwealth units soon. We received word that we will be working alongside them. I know many of you remember the Hegemony, but I don’t care. We’re allies now, and we’re staying that way until Serpentine says different.” Those last words gave some of the troops a chuckle. They all began their move into Metz inside heavily armored APCs. Many empty APCs followed, waiting to be loaded with Commonwealth soldiers. These APCs were a drop in the bucket of the military aid the new allies were receiving. ... Admiral Mustang was working diligently in the Valentine, working on the newest of several deployments for the navy. Isolating Sennar, East Ziyer, and Metz from receiving any outside aid whatsoever was a tall order, but since the Mediterranean operations had ceased the morale over the victories against Catholic Europe had been high. The expectations around the new events were favorable, but Mustang, and many other seamen were skeptical about the newfound ally in Africa. All the same, Mustang saw to it that the blockades would be successful. |

The Kingdom of Metz... The fighting was intense along the border as commonwealth soldiers began meeting up with Dominion patrols. The Commonwealth had entered the Kingdom of Metz through the southeastern most tip of Commonwealth territory and were now marching south as they would met up with Ulganian forces south of the capital city of Metz. Once today, they would march more unified against the Dominion and th Metz capital and "liberate" the Metz people from Dominion influence in their captial. General Nahas Gurirab was overall pleased with the efforts his troops were making. It was of course the first time many of his men had fought against people really trying to kill them. They were performing as well as were to be expected of men, most of whom had been no more than farmers two months ago. They were making good progress as they day drug on. Their advantage was that they had not tanks or other heavy equipment to slow them down. Their disadvantage was that they had no vehicles which to travel longer distances faster than they would on foot. A few units were on horse back but they did not stray far from the entire group. Being on foot did allow the men to hide far better in the bush and under brush of the countryside far greater. They had taken out two small Dominion patrol camps in this manner, using the under brush and a canopy with which to get closer than any other unit could with tanks following behind them. Of course these camps were small in number of men, but did allow the Commonwealth to scavenge for supplies. General Gurirab was almost sure they would reach the checkpoint by nightfall. He personally favored a night attack on the capital city as it would add another layer of cover for his troops on foot. However, he was willing to defer to Ulganian judgment if it differed from his own. After all they had been fighting in the region far longer than he had. Like he had planned, the General had been able to push his troops forward far enough so that by nightfall he was within three miles of his checkpoint. He took it under assumption that the Ulganians would be waiting for them there. However, he also understood that the Ulganian border was perhaps more heavily guarded. He'd have his answer in a few hours time. |

A noticeably immense amount of shelling began to fall upon the area that was supposed to be the Commonwealth’s checkpoint. Dominion forces had been able to discern the troops movement, and by adapting they decided a night raid on the supposed encampment was ideal. They were shaken however by the lack of any troops, or signs in the immediate vicinity. Once the shelling had stopped though, an Ulganian spec ops unit moved in to scout the area in force. Radioing to the Commonwealth troops, they were relieved to hear that their allies were not hit, but held their sentiments. In the easternmost edge of Metz, General Comiche had orchestrated the landings of over a dozen areas that extended south towards the end of the continent. Three hundred thousand of the million reserve troops began to form beachheads. Fire support from the naval blockades aided the push. The only unsuccessful landing was the one intended to head straight into the capital city. As well as several other operations intended to at least surround the capital, the Dominion and natives loyal to the Dominion had repelled the attacks. The coming days would change that though. |

The Commonwealth forces had been hit but survive the shelling from Dominion positions in the city. Having learned the Ulganian forces promised to capture the city had not succeeded in landing was a blow to the morale of the troops. Knowing that they would be waiting, General Gurirab had the troops dig in and prepare themselves for the long fight. They knew the Dominion would at least try another barrage of artillery fire if not try and march on them full force. Will only weapons they could carry the Commonwealth soldiers would have to defend themselves as best they could. General Gurirab would try to contact sympathizers and loyalists to the Commonwealth to aid them in infiltrating the city in small scout groups since after all many of the citizens here were former citizens of the Hegemony. Along the west coast of the country a different war was being fought. It was a army of soldiers that the Commonwealth had be able to raise and organized. They were under the command of Ras Tjikurame, formerly a simple soldier in the Hegemony his loyalty to his people after the collapse of the government got him quickly promoted when the Commonwealth began to reorganize everything. This army was launch only an hour after General Gurirab began his assault into Metz which gave General Tjikurame the distraction needed to begin attacking targets along the coastline. They're target was the former capital city of Acropolis. They had thus far reached a small town South of Port Nolloth known as Kleinsee. It was not a major port, more of a resort town but the Dominion had other plans it seemed, and had already begun construction of a port along the beaches. However, it seemed that war in Europe had halted construction though the town was still well within Dominion control. The soldier of the Commonwealth of course planned to challenge that hold and worked at night to fight the Dominion, using as much cover as they could to sneak themselves as close as possible to the enemy. They got several shots off before alarms began to sound and troops began moving rapidly throughout the city streets. It was again a smaller town, thus is was no great urban jungle so there were far more open areas to get caught in. House and other structures provided great cover but the distance between one structure and the next was usually great and moving became difficult. Adding that the Dominion had much more powerful weapons than the Commonwealth soldiers also put the latter at a great disadvantage. Commandeering one or more of their tanks would be a great help if it were possible. Fighting would go on well into the night and into the early hours of the morning before a victor in the battle would soon become clear. |

Logistically, the Commonwealth's attack on Kleinsee gave the Ulganians room to start making preliminary strikes on the vast mining areas north of the port area. Again, in favor of avoiding more major operations, General Comiche was going by Tibathian's advice and worked to starve the Dominion of everything. In this case it would be raw material. The strikes were also focusing on refining and factory areas, giving local Dominion forces fewer options for further supplies. Blocked from the sea, and increasingly on land, Dominion forces would have to make a desperate bid for control soon, or give in. The same tactics were being employed in the east, where the capital remained intact, but operatives inside fed information to Ulganian contacts over the locations of ammunition, fuel, and supply depots. Having been able to fully surround the city with a total of 400,000 troops General Comiche was sure the Commonwealth would be able to add the final piece of straw to break the camel's back. |

OOC: No worries, we got it :D IC: Commonwealth soldiers around the capital were pleased to see the Ulganian forces begin to surround the capital in every direction. General Gurirab was equally pleased to get information on certainly key targets such as fuel depots and ammunition store houses. This information was quickly relayed to the scout parties that the Commonwealth had been able to smuggle into the city using sympathizers to their cause. The Fuel depots were the first to be hit, as they were the easiest. One good shot from a bazooka to a fuel tank and each installation went up in flames after great explosions were heard. Within an hours time more than 60% of all fuel depots within the city had been hit simultaneously. It was a success the Commonwealth was pleased to have obtained. Fuel now out of the equation, General Gurirab believe the united forces could overwhelm Dominion and loyalist forces on the ground and force either a complete defeat or a surrenders at the very least. Personally he wanted to march head long into the city and defeat whatever came before he and his forces. However, he was deferring judgment to General Comiche. They could either hit the rest of the depots and completely starve the Dominion out, or attack now while also hoping to knock out a few ammunition depots before they got too deep in the city and force a defeat. Gurirab would follow the Ulganian lead and command his troops accordingly. General Tjikurame on the other hand was taking his own initiative in the war effort. Within two days he had secured the city of Kleinsee and taken for himself and his troops what ammunition and armor they could salvage from the battle. The Ulganians had finally gotten armor personnel carriers to their positions allow for he and his troops to move more quickly than they had previously. Thus they pushed and pushed hard past Dominion patrols and a few ports which the Ulganians would surely destroy because they allowed access the quarries the Dominion could funnel supplies out of. For General Tjikurame he cared not for these locations as his ultimate goal was of course Acropolis. For him his next big and challenge target was Lamberts Bay. It was far larger than the city of Kleinsee and was a far more major port on the east coast. It was also within the sphere on control from old Acropolis. Dominion forces would be more heavy here though General Tjikurame suspected that most of the Dominion remained further west near the capital. His forces were within a days travel of the port and would attack and sunset. |

OOC: NRE, I'll be gone for the weekend. I think you can finish Metz as you see fit, as any contribution I would make for the topic would just be the same as the last one. I've armed you, you've pushed against resistance, and there's Acropolis and the capital to flush out. Also go ahead and get something in for the next phase of the operation as you see fit, at your convenience. |

OOC: The city of Metz, (their capital) is very close to the Southern border of the Armed Republic, should our southern farmers feel threatened by the war of three countries just on their doorstep. And a war which was not discussed with the government of the North Transvaal, a war which clearly has affect on the North Transvaal, for instance the North Transvaal and Metz have a trade agreement (at least I think so). This post might not look OOC, but it is, I don't want to interfere in your RP ;) |

OOC: We'll your more than welcome to join the fun of course, although I'll be finishing up with Metz now. Of course, we're going to be fighting the Dominion north of here so there is still plenty of fighting to be done. Just contact either my government of Ulgania's government. IC: A month later.... The Dominion had fought hard in the Kingdom of Metz. They continued to repel enemy advances onto the city but could do little in the way of protecting themselves against the guerrilla warfare that was being used by Metzian sympathizers to the allied cause. The Fuel depot was of course the first to go without the capital and then just a week later the ammunition's storehouse also went up in flames. This greatly reduced the Dominion's capability to fight and put a number on the amount of days they'd have left to holding on to the capital. Along the coast, Ulganian naval power overwhelmed port forces in all major areas. Their attacks were thorough and precise, destroying the Dominion's ability to feed its war machines by supply ships. They were also use to hit targets in land such a mining operations of materials that the Dominion was also using for war. Commonwealth forces in the west made their deadline, finally reaching the site of old Acropolis, their former capital city. It wasn't the beautiful Emerald city of the South but it still bared much of the landmarks which were considered sacred to the faithful including St. Emanuel's Cathedral. The battle of the city was in tense as the city was also the largest port on the west coast of South Africa. Commonwealth forces took delicate measures not to over damage any of their prized landmarks. Eventually they suppressed the Dominion and forced them into a surrender. Many soldiers took the next day off the go pray in the Cathedral and pay their respects to the former Sacred Queen's who lay buried within the crypt of the Cathedral. The Commonwealth also setup a command station in the city, within the now barren walls of the former royal palace. They had reclaimed for Queen and country their former capital and no matter what the other nations would have to say about it, they would not give it up. No, the Commonwealth was ready to once again exert its power over South Africa and Acropolis would be that starting point. Days after taking Acropolis, the Dominion in the capital city of the Metz Kingdom began feeling the effects of a loss of fuel and ammunition. Sighting their weakened state the allied forces began a slow press on positions at the outskirts of the city. The fighting was every bit as fierce as any city currently under siege in Europe. However, little by little streets were taken. Then whole blocks and then an entire sector came under allied control. Within a few days time the Dominion was beaten back to a small sector of the city's northeast corner. After only a few days of fighting in this cramped corner of the capital, the Dominion surrendered and Metz was finally liberate. General Gurirab congratulated his counterpart as soon as the surrender was made official. Both men seemed pleased that the fighting in Metz was over although each man was please for an entirely different reason. The Uglanians came in to be liberators, to free the Metz people from their collaboration with the Dominion, a collaboration which would surely lead to their nation demise and the rise of a puppy-state of the Dominion. For the Commonwealth, they say the vacuum of power left by the Dominion as their opportunity to take back lands they still considered their own. They would once again bring the South African people under one banner and do so through force if need be. However, such situations were best left for another day. Now that Metz was freed from Dominion occupation, both the Commonwealth and Ulgania's backs were free from the threat of a Dominion attack. Now both General's looked northward at the fight ahead of them. It was time to throw the Dominion out of the Kalahari region and onto their asses. Both nations spent little time reorganizing themselves for the battle. The build-up of troops along the border was a massive display of both nation's power. With a viable route for supplies through Metz, Ulgania was able to better supply the Commonwealth with the military hardware they lacked. The Commonwealth in turn conscripted enough men to help Ulgania field the men they knew it would take to beat the Dominion. Much like during the "liberation" of Metz, the two nations amassed their troops along the border and waited for a synchronized order to attack. That order came a mere five days after having liberated the capital of Metz. Both forces opened fire on Dominion encampments closes to them in the wilderness of the Kalahari region. Men, tanks, and artillery began flooding over the borders. Airplanes soared overhead and began their own war for the skies. Commonwealth Champlains prayed for a glorious victory of the agents of Satan. Another Dominion battle was now well underway. |

OOC: Yes I would like to play at least a minor role in the Roleplay of the continent, not fighting yet, as I am still getting used to things. But just minor Roleplay like meetings concerning North Transvaal's safety in a war like this, and so forth. IC: President Martin van Staden of North Transvaal, meeting with the ruler of Ulgania, and an ambassador from the Commonwealth... "The Armed Republic is neutral, and for that I cannot congratulate or feel sympathy for anything that has happened over the last few years (I think). But what concerns me is the safety of my people!" Van Staden says to the two gentlemen sitting in the Union Buildings' conference room, in the secondary capital of North Transvaal, Centurion. "An middle-aged farmer's son came all the way from the South, to Johannesburg, only to tell us about the death of his father, FROM A HEART ATTACK." The President says. The farmer and his family had been sitting in their old farm house on the nation's most southern border, Metz's capital city was clearly sightable in the distance, the old man was in his 70s and had a weak heart concision. "The man died when war began practically on his doorstep!" The President Screams. "Now gentleman I am willing to let this go. But the next time you decide to start a war around my country, without my government's consent. THAT will not just be seen as a threat to the national security of North Transvaal, it will be seen as an act of war." "Gentleman, in the few years I have known you, I started to see you as friends, and reasonable people, yes I know the Commonwealth is interested in the ownership of the entire Southern Africa, I know Ulgania wanted to help the people of Metz, but we need stability. I wish to be informed of all further military actions by your armed forces." The President says as he slowly begins to stand up from his chair, clearly showing the meeting is over. "Thank you for coming gentleman." The President greets the men as they begin to make for the elevator. "And oh yes ambassador (insert name), I really do know your Queen is interested in these territories, and I would like to meet with her and make sure we are safe." The President chuckles while he is saying this. And the ambassador smiles back and leaves with Tres Valentine." OOC: And please reply to this if it seems important to you. http://s3.zetaboards.com/nationstates/topic/7243692/1/#new |

At the meeting “Mr. President, I can assure you that the only threats that we are looking to flush out is that of the Dominion, and Dominion influence. Operations along our shared southern borders have concluded as things stand, and we have ensured that the least possible loss of life has occurred, outside of Dominion targets, sympathizers, and loyalists. As the former Metz kingdom is no longer a part of the theater, you do not have to worry, and that only a minimal number of occupying troops will be staying in the area to maintain and instill Ulganian influence to the area. It is traditionally our backyard, and rebuilding the area to be able to ensure post-Dominion recovery is our military’s priority. “Should you believe that any other indiscretions have come to pass that may violate the neutrality of your state, please do not hesitate to bring them up.” Kingdom of Metz With operations concluding, some time was being taken to assess the defensive positions along the coastlines of southern Africa. With the Commonwealth finding itself rearmed and more able to develop its own infrastructure, responsibilities for securing the Atlantic side of the coast was left to them, while the Ulganian Navy began to set up more static, minimally manned ports that would hopefully buy time for any Dominion counter-attack. Desert Command, Western Ulgania For the first time since the Civil War, Desert Command was being utilized in such a grand fashion that the sheer number of tents being set up stretched seemingly from horizon to horizon. The Gungir, already having been deployed in four groups of 50,000 had already started to plow through the area and flush out any potential resistance to the start of the next push. From the perspective of General Tibathian, he began to plan for an initial surge towards established Dominion forts, knowing that Ulganian forces would be the shield, and the cover for the Commonwealth’s now battle-tested lance. However, with the example set by General Comiche in the south, Tibathian considered revamping the strategy. The only foreseeable hole in the original plan that Ulganian forces could create a counter for was a retreat to the northeast, and then to East Ziyer by the stretched Dominion forces. To counter this, he quadrupled the number of Mechanized Infantry that were tasked with the defense of former Zeelari railroads and trade posts, creating a new shield that would also ensure that, should a two-front war against South and East Ziyer become a problem, there would be enough in play to buy time for a proper defense. For now though, he hoped the current campaign to hold off the Dominion forces from Sennar would keep them occupied enough to hold the current campaign in place. |

Messages to Ulgania... "Hmm yes thank you for remeasuring me of that, but in the next military operation near or within our borders will need my government's consent." "And as you say you are eliminating Dominion threats... the Dominion has not ever harmed the Armed Republic... but so to say you have also not. We will remain neutral..." |
