I take it that means everyone is ready now. I'm sorry once more for the delays that this seems to have all the time, but I feel that I'm actually back for good this time. If there are no further complaints, I'm going to stage the first games with a simulation model and see how that goes. I hope it works out well, but if there are any complaints or if anyone else wants in I totally understand. Just let me know!

This is quite literally the furthest that I've ever gotten in the history of this little plan of mine. Thank you for cheering me on Porcu. I've set up the tournament. Due to the way the old Sega Saturn game I'm simulating this with works, I've set it up as a three round tournament. Since that makes home ice advantage uneven, I rolled a multifaceted roleplaying die to decide starting positions. I did the same to decide first round byes. I figure that there shouldn't have to be any further byes in the next rounds, since this should limit the number of teams going into the second round by way of eliminations. Of course, we could also give some NPC nations or regions a couple of team if worst comes to worst. Naturally, I hope to keep running this thing indefinitely now that I've gotten off my butt and actually done something.

In the coming days, if there's no complaint, I'd be happy to post a description of the first round. Speaking of that, we need a name for the tournament and trophy. If anyone wants to put up a 'sponsorship' from their country, that's cool, though otherwise I'm sure there are plenty of Zeelaran companies that could do that.

Thanks again for putting up with me, and I really am sorry.

OOC: I took a look at the soccer threads and decided to do something a little different with hockey. That is, now that I've finally gotten off my butt and decided to work with it. I'm writing out these results as though they were actually written on behalf of a sportswriter. However, I'll have a straight recap at the bottom. I remember there was some talk about domain names before; I used .ze1 for Zeelar's top level domain, since as far as I know it's unused and invalid in real life.

IC: Well, it's certainly been a pretty crazy week with a lot of goals being scored. To be totally honest, I'm surprised that everything went down like this. I thought that there was going to be some sold goaltending in this week's match ups.

Actually, I should apologize since there definitely were a few holdouts. Both the Amish Devils and SHG Pavia had a good game with solid defense. This is the kind of hockey I like to see. It was in the corners with a lot of focus. Even the Floro HC / Union Sportive St.-Nazaire-Bretagne match up wasn't too bad. The forward on Floro HC scored a solid hat trick in that game, and I liked to see that level of athleticism. However, seeing Aramaga crush Vad Bodok and Oslo HC pitch a shut out against Khartoum HC shows that this league lacks solid goaltending.

For that matter, take a look at the Patavium / Canasta match up. Scoring ten goals in a game is pretty base. It speaks Six were scored in the Trondheim / Amish Angels match up. That's sort of funny, considering that their cross-town rivals the Amish Devils held out so well.

I have to expect that a few teams are going to get knocked out next week, unless every single team that took home a victory somehow screws it up. That could happen, but I'm not holding my breath. Then again, I'm not holding my breath either that this round of the season is going to end early. I still have to feel jealous about Reykjavik HC and the Rouen Sport Club. They'll be fresh coming off those bye weeks.

Of course, any teams that can crush their opponents early are rewarded with some time off as well. That can be much needed time to recuperate and heal up after any injuries. Some teams need to be on the ice all the time, though, and that could really hurt their chances.
