The United Socialist States Of Che Brisio Political Structure President - Raul Engels (World Communist Faction) Prime Minister - Haile Jorge (Socialist Democracy Faction) The structure in Che Brisio includes a 100 member single chamber legislature from which the leader of the biggest Faction(see 2.1) within the Che Brisio Leftist Alliance Party (the only party in government) is asked to become the Prime Minister by the President. Elections to the Chamber Of Socialism happen every 5 years without fail. Only members from the Che Brisio Leftist Alliance Party can stand for election although those that stand for election belong to a maximum of 2 factions within the party that helps voters decide who they vote for. The party theoretically ranges from Left-Leaning Liberals to Communist, although infact it ranges from outright Conservative to Communist, as only those that are seen as a threat to the security of the nation are excluded from elections (as long as they are member of the party), althought reasons for which they can be excluded from elections are written and finite (for example Members of ARM, Nazis, Anarchists, or those who incite hatred, only 54 politicians have been excluded from elections in the last 23 years). The President is elected every 10 years in a simple majority vote. He/she can be reelected for a further term of 5 years if the legislature allows the incumbent to stand. No President can be elected more than twice, although they can be reelected to the legislature. No citizens are prevented from voting, only those sectioned in mental hospitals, those under 16 and those currently in prison following committing a crime. 2.1 - FACTIONS The Che Brisio Leftist Alliance is the only party in Che Brisio (so it could be claimed to be a totalitarian state) but within the Party there are 25 factions with their own codified beliefs and entrance policies that compete elections. The purpose of this is to ensure that no "dangerous" politicians enter the Chamber of Socialism. The 8 most serious of the 25 factions are the World Communist Faction, Socialist Democracy Faction, Democrat Faction (social democrats), the Independent Liberals, Che Brisio Capitalist Alliance, Athiest Action Faction, Islamic Socialists Faction, and the Green Society Faction. Members of the Party are allowed to join a maximum of 2 factions, or join the Party as a whole (ie Unaligned Members). This helps categorise members etc. 3.1 - Local Governments are organised in the same way and have a very specific sphere of authority. |

Supreme Court The newly established has undertaken its final elections since its creation at the beginning of current Prime Ministerial term. It has a totally seperate party system, whereby judges align themselves with loose coalition parties. The justices are elected 1/3 at a time (ie 2 Regions at a time, as each region holds 1.5 justices*) The candidates are taken from the National Court and Appeal Courts by the government after advice from local legislatures. It's members are as follows: Chief Justice Nelson Coa (People's Party) centre left 2. Janice Kamura (People's Party) centre left 3. Regis Smyth (Che Brisio Capitalist Alliance Party) right 4. Mohamed Khan (Independent) centre 5. Mohamed ul Mahdi (African Unity Party) far left 6. Kristijan Rosa (African Unity Party) left 7. Zouman Camara (People's Party) left 8. Hope Tutuz (Che Brisio Capitalist Alliance Party) centre right 9. Rico Sao Lopes (People's Party) centre left
* Each voter casts 1 vote for their regional justice. Then the nation is divided into 3 double region constituencies, whereby the votes are calculated proportionally, and each voter will vote for the party and the leader of this "party" becomes their non-region justice. |

PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS The elections are carried out by simple vote, as 1 large constitunecy. A minimum of 45% of the vote is needed to secure the Presidency, if this is not achieved then the lowest polling candidate is removed and a 2nd round is fought. The new President will be installed next Friday. Haile Jorge (Socialist Democracy Faction) - 57% Julala Youngé (World Communist Faction) - 31.9% Piers Illainoveji (Che Brisio Capitalist Alliance Faction) - 9.9% Noki Ilege (Green Society Faction) - 1.2% WITHDREW FROM BALLOT Haile Jorge will become President next Friday after the Chamber of Socialism Elections. This result has surprised very few people. Haile Jorge after a successful term has proven his abilities and increased the popularity of his faction. Julala Youngé campaigned well and had the support of incumbent Raul Engels, his successful double term will have helped her immensely as she has been a key fugure throughout his Presidency, her faction is expected to poll well again next week in the Chamber of Socialism elections, as the top 3 factions appear to switch at every election, the World Communist Faction coming in 2nd last time is favourite to form a government, although leader of the Islamic Socialist Faction, Mo Khalid has been on the campaign trail already, and his popularity has soared in the polls. |

CHAMBER OF SOCIALISM ELECTIONS The Chamber of Socialism is elected on a Faction List System, although deputies are assigned a constituency area, to be their local MP. The President asks the leader of the biggest faction to become Prime Minister. World Communist Faction - 26 Socialist Democracy Faction - 23 Islamic Socialist Faction - 24 Che Brisio Capitalist Alliance Faction - 14 Independent Liberals - 6 Democrat Faction - 3 Athiest Action Faction - 2 Green Society Faction - 1 James Humdargo (Unaligned) - 1 Christian Front Faction - 0 Soviet Faction - 0 Uma Illyich (Unaligned) - 0 Prime Minister - Julala Youngé (World Communist Faction) Analyists suggest that this is a prime example of "split-ticket" voting with voters choosing different factions for President and Prime Minister. The World Communist Faction has ridden on the back of Raul Engels successful Presidential term, and Julala Youngé's experience as Finance Minister. Julala Youngé the new Prime Minister announced the new coalition government at 11am this morning. "The new government will include the World Communist Faction, the Islamic Socialist Faction, the Socialist Democracy Faction and Ilim Guderu from the Independent Liberals, negotiations went on through the night and the new cabinet will meet for the first time on monday. We will announce our new budget in 4 weeks time....". The shocking decline of the Democrat faction has been put down to the last minute defection of Catherine Brice to the Socialist Democracy faction, Catherine Brice of course the daughter of Revolution Leader Chris Brice. |
