Recognizing the void of a central authority within the Genesian world Acknowledging the necessity of a central figure to cohesively coordinate the spiritual masses Resolving to address the needs of humanity by channeling the grace of God The Council of St. Michel crowns the highest authority within Genesian Catholicism, a supreme religious leader to guide people of the spirit on a righteous path, and beyond into the gates of heaven amidst a sea of hedonism. Pope Emmanuel IV, formerly Fernando Amadau, a Genesian missionary deployed to Germany, has shown himself to be guided by a higher force and exhibited moral fiber of the highest degree. By the power vested in this Council, he is named High Chancellor of Hamburg-Bremen, and declared the supreme spiritual leader of all the men, women and children of the world in the hope that they shall one day acknowledge and submit to a higher power, the higher power of God and his voice upon Earth, his holiness Pope Emmanuel IV. All hail. All congratulations an salutations may be offered here. Posted Image Pope Emmanuel IV directly after his coronation at Bremen's Cathedral St. Pietri |

We find the decisions of this Council of St. Michel to be of the highest degree of heresy seen in the realm of Germany since the establishment of the heretical Church of Cologne. The truly faithful demand that such decisions be reversed and that Fernando Amadau return to the robes of a Cardinal. To do anything less will surely doom the faithful of the German realm excommunication and eternal damnation. For there can be only one Pope of the Holy Catholic Church of Genesis City and it shall be of the dos Santos Aveiro-Medici bloodline, a bloodline form which still exists in the world today. -Cardinal Marcus Tilius, Primate to Northern Georgia. OOC: While only a couple of people are aware of the possibility, and I don't think any players still with us (not counting CE and Scy) actually know the characters... there are individuals related by blood to both the Harumfian Royal Family and the dos Santos Aveiro-Medici lines within Nag Ehgoeg. I have no interest in running the Catholic Church, but if someone wanted to establish a legitimate bloodline - they've only to ask and I'll provide you with a suitable character. That said, I'm sure that those most interested in running the Church have their own characters who have a suitable claim. Oh and, consider this IC post a statement of non-recognition. I'm not gonna be waging war on anyone for trying to install a new Pope. I'm just not going to recognise an illegitimate claim. IC: The Dominion does not recognise the authority of The Council of St. Michel or of Mr. Fernando Amadau and will enact Executive Order No. 101 against any party attempting to install an Anti-Pope. |

Pope Emmanuel IV's heritage stems directly from the bloodline of Saint Pope Emmanuel I, having spanned generations filled with royalty and poverty alike. The tale of his ancestry begins with Queen Ursula of the Southern Kingdom of Catholic Europe, sister of Saint Pope Emmanuel I and mother to Prince Leopold (amongst her 17 children). Prince Leopold, upon attaining an age fit for marriage, was unceremoniously betrothed to daughter Christina of the San Martina family, of ancient origin and ample means itself. Christina gave birth to five children, of whom four survived to adulthood. Her youngest son, Cristobal, married a daughter of the equally aristocratic Verdici family, resulting in the birth of seven children of noble blood. From this point, through a succession of male sons coursed His Holiness Saint Pope Emmanuel I's blessed blood, a bloodline passed unto Fernando Amadau by his father Gregorio Amadau (God Rest his Soul), a man of modest means who had taken the name of his mentor the honorable Vitali Amadau, a local metalworker. |

It was the belief of Nag Ehgoeg that Prince Leopold was killed during the First War of Succession. If documents could be presented in regards to his marriage to Christina San Martina and of his son Cristobal's marriage into the Verdici, this matter could be easily clarified. |

OOC- This is the future right? If so... IC- Catholicos Matthew I of Kasnyia recognizes only the Pope of Cologne, and after that, the Catholic Church of Kasnyia, as the rightful authority of Catholocism. The Papacy of Genesis is dead. - Statement from the Grand Cathedral of Saint Basche |

Posted Image Pope Emmanuel IV I thank the Lord Our Savior for guiding Archbishop Moore's hand in this matter, and for his infinite wisdom in leading me upon a path to righteousness in a land wracked with sin. The land of Germany has long sat beneath the rule of heretics, yet through the divine workings of the Lord the good and pure have ascended to power once more. I call upon all true Catholics of the world to acknowledge their heavenly father through word and action, fulfilling their obligations to the Church and the Almighty. I call upon the saved to preach unto the damned, so that we might lift the shackles of heresy from the masses, and rise up to complete the heavenly vision of man Our Father forever holds dear. I call upon the saved nations of the world to converse and converge, so that a mighty wall of piety meets all who question the works and wishes of the Lord Our God. I call upon these nations to punish the wicked, yet spare the naive for they know not what they do. I call upon my long deserted followers to lift their faces to the Lord, and bask in a light ne'er so bright nor so pure. I call upon thee, the people of God, to rise once more in a blaze of glory, and to remind the world of Piety in its purest form. |

OOC- :P  I was thinking I'd make my European territory independant of Kasnyia as a Papal state, to give it some power with Kasnyia as an ally, or integrating it with the Church of Kasnyia, which has longed to rule itself and effectively make the two factions (Colognianism and Baschism) one and the same. Since there are so few Colognian states left outside Kasnyia (especially with Germany having fallen), I dunno how much of a shift that would be, but there you go. All still in the "maybe" stage though. |

OOC: Not necessarily, this German Pope has claimed and has been recognized as a decedent of the Royal Popes of the "Genesian" church, formerly the Roman Catholic Church. Now that he has been confirmed and accepted by the remaining Genesian community, we've basically reignited the church. Beyond this Pope, I have two Catholic Royals who can take the Papal throne and I believe NH still has a royal or two himself. So no, the church still lives as does the church of Cologne apparently. Now of course if everyone wants a council could be called to look into the possibility of reuniting the two churches again, but given their different dogmas I'm not sure if a union can be forged but its certainly worth a try. Posted Image Pope Emmanuel IV Papal Directive Unus A College of Cardinals is to be established immediately, seated in Hamburg and convened at the Pope's discretion. This College shall provide council as necessary in matters both spiritual and practical, as well as preside over religious observation in the capital city of Hamburg. All nations which formally acknowledge the Genesian Church as the one true religion of man shall be entitled to at least a single seat within the College. Posted Image Papal Directive Duo All true followers of the Lord shall observe the Sabbath clothed in simple linen garments of blue and white. In this era of excess, the roots of piety have been eroded. A show of humility and faith is required to call the faltering once more into the fold, and to reaffirm the power of the Lord over the world of mortal man. Posted Image Papal Directive Tria The domiciles of all true followers of the Lord must contain a cross of simple wood. One's faith must radiate outward from the home, consuming all aspects of life both private and public. Through the demonstration of faith in the form of un-ornamented cross, we harken to the strongest pillar of faith, the ability to embellish through thought and action the simplest of beliefs, the belief in the Lord Our God.
