"Since this treaty doesn't nessecarily make any signers allies, just observers of a set of rules, I'd also like to establish trade relations and such with Eire and any other nation here." |

I must submit the treaty to the Council of Nobles. Their first meeting since the new nobles took power is just beginning. Nielsen forwards the Treaty of Tara to Bristol via e-mail for the Council to review. Approximately thirty minutes later, a response is sent back to Nielsen which he reads aloud. Alanus Lansdale votes IN FAVOR of the Treaty of Tara. Jacob Roderick votes IN FAVOR of the Treaty of Tara. Keith Scott votes IN FAVOR of the Treaty of Tara. Michael Malan votes IN FAVOR of the Treaty of Tara. Carolyn Maclaine votes IN FAVOR of the Treaty of Tara. Eric Stewart votes AGAINST the Treaty of Tara. Arthur Connell votes IN FAVOR of the Treaty of Tara. By a vote of 6-1, the Council of Nobles have approves the signing of the Treaty of Tara. The nobles who approved have already signed the digital copy. Richard and I shall sign as well here. Alanus Lansdale, Jacob Roderick, Keith Scott, Michael Malan, Carolyn Maclaine, and Arthur Connell Consenting Majority of the United Provinces' Council of Nobles Patrick Nielsen Foreign Minister of the United Provinces of Wessex Richard Greaves High General of the United Provinces of Wessex We would also like to open trade and diplomatic relations with all nations present. OOC: To be fair, Alanus is agnostic. :P Most of the Council members haven't made their religious stances clear. Also, Stewart voted against the treaty because he is an isolationist. Religious belief (or lack thereof) is irrelevant in this case. :P Edited by Aelius, Sep 4 2009, 10:56 PM.

OOC: Consider yourself arrived and at the meeting. Devin Wire was going to sign, so until then walk-ins are fine. Once he signs, the organization will launch and members will be voted in by the council nations. They'll have to be voted into the council as well if they wish to be on it, which is only advisable for more powerful nations. IC: The representative for the Republic need only sign the treaty. |

OOC: With Devin Wire in, this is now closed to walk-ins. Everyone else will have to apply. More to come. EDIT: Summary of LFN Powers: Africa Zeelar (seated) Americas Terrel Fen Europe Ireland (Celtic, seated) Venice (seated) UPW (Celtic, seated) Wales (Celtic, TATO) Middle East Alexanderhaven (Roman, seated) Edessa (Roman) ----- I'll make an IC post closing this meeting soon. You all should consider whether you want a seat on the High Council, and what character you want to put on it. Founding nations are entitled to one. Due to game mechanics, Ireland will have a seat on the High Council, and Edessa will not. This makes sense within the LFN, since Edessa is already dependent on Irish and Roman protection. "Well, I suppose that settles it. I am glad all of you have come, and I look forward to cooperating with all your nations. Hopefully, with this treaty, we have taken the first step in creating a more peaceful world. Let us hope that with this treaty, all our nations can live safer and more secure in the knowledge that we are all protected by each other. Hopefully, we never have to take action, but the world is as it is. "For convenience, Quintus has suggested the High Council meet in Dublin in a month's time. That should give all of your governments the time to choose who you wish for the position, and whether you actually wish to take such a position. "For now, I bid you all good day. It has been a pleasure!" With those the words, the meeting was over. High King Stiofan shook the hands of the guests as they left, exchanging niceties and some small conversations. The Treaty of Tara had been signed, and the League of Free Nations was now a real organization on the world stage. |

"This treaty will do nothing more than destabilize an already fragile world. And the worst offenders are Venice, whose greed will lead to endless suffering, and Ireland, whose Pride will seek to destroy every other nation that does kiss it's toes. We can only hope those with the vision to see these evils can act as we do, and oppose them at every turn." -Hochmeister Hermann von Jungingen |
