OOC: Like I mentioned in the other thread, this is purely a simulation of what I envision a World Cup to be like. While everything will be posted in this thread to provide you all with an idea, there will be specific threads where updates go, reports go, etc. when the real thing starts, just so you all know. I also plan on updating the scores and my reports, at least, twice weekly. IC: Posted Image Posted Image [^ Everyone’s favorite newsreader  ] “Good evening and welcome to ‘Football [or Soccer, I can change this to whatever is more desirable] World: Your daily football update!’ hosted by the PBC. My name is Aleksandra Stasov from the Russian National Nightly News. “Nervous anticipation and anxiety gripped players and fans alike as WUFA, the World Union of Football Associations [this too may easily be changed to whatever is desirable], announced earlier today the updated world rankings and the group stages for the upcoming World Cup tournament, hosted by Russia.” “Here is a look at the current world standings…” *Music jingle as various teams and spots are read out loud by another commentator* 1 New Harumf 2 Marslava 3 Haiti 4 Lamda League 5 World Military Dominion 6 Dutch Provinces 7 Terrel Fen 8 Yshurak 9 Huesca 10 United States of America (Los Angeles Section) 11 Metz 12 Yvelinais Republic 13 Çerdonč 14 Al Qalaa 15 Germany 16 Telosan 17 Russia 18 Porcu 19 Konosha 20 Catholic Europe 21 Draxis 22 Empire of the Romans 23 Ulgania 24 Kasnyia 25 Holy Roman Empire 26 Paradise 27 Assassination Nation 28 Alexanderhaven 29 Confederate States of America 30 Eleytheria-Duo 31 Ireland 32 Great New France [^ I do plan on creating a picture table for this, just to spice it up a bit] “Groups were also announced and there was much speculation as to which group would be coined as the “Death Group”, though this year it appears teams have been spread out evenly. Group E, however, has three teams in the top 12, including the number one team in the world: New Harumf, and promises to hold plenty of high-octane action.” Group A: Germany Telosan Empire of the Romans Haiti Group B: Porcu Russia Catholic Europe Kasynia Group C: Metz Marslava Draxis Alexanderhaven Group D: Holy Roman Empire Assassination Nation Dutch Provinces Konosha Group E: United States of America (Los Angeles Section) New Harumf Ulgania Yvelinais Republic Group F: Terrel Fen World Military Dominion Great New France Paradise Group G: Al Qalaa Lambda League Ireland Çerdonč Group H: Yshurak Huesca Confederate States of America Eleytheria-Duo [^ Same as with the world rankings] “Host nation Russia has plenty of work ahead of them in Group B but coach Boris Filatov (NRE, you can of course change this) had plenty to say about his team’s chances…” Posted Image “…We have a young team, one with plenty of energy and potential. Compare that to our competitor Porcu, for example, who is mostly characterized by tough veterans of club play…The biggest concern for me is making sure that we are disciplined. A very strategic team like Porcu will always capitalize on mistakes and penalties…We need to be focused and determined, but I have no doubt as to the ability of our players. Russia will be proud.” OOC: This is not really out of character, as the whole tread is a mixture of both, but ah well...Please DO NOT post in this thread. I do indeed want feedback and if you could post it in the first thread, that would be very much appreciated. Again, this is in no way a final format for the world cup but it shall act as a basic guideline. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please, by all means, post them, but in the other thread... |
