I... am agast... What I thought would actually turn out to be quite a decent game, turns out to flop the first day it comes out with more bugs than a friggen forest. The game is riddled with problems, most of which are due to the game being forced along and being released without the consent of the Developers. I find it hardly playable, where the servers dont update my personal jacket after I complete my training, meaning I have to redue the entire training and requal with all of the weapons. That or it doesnt upload my stats from games that I have completed, for that matter when I try to join online games, my screen is sent right back to the main menu, having me curse at my computer and threaten to throw my fist through the screen. They also just released a "hotfix" which I beleive has made the game even worse, and just caused more problems then it was supposed to fix.

Though when the game does work, it works great and the level of detail is simply amazing, the voice controls are just a par above everything else Ive used in the past. I enjoy the combat aspect of the game immensely, and when the game isnt lagging or bugging out, the weapons are extremely accurate to real life with every bullet and grenade as deadly as they really are.

All in all though, it is a free game, but I am just so disgusted with how broken it is that I refuse to play it until more patches come out that fix this game completely. I did hear that the day the game came out, that because the Support Center at the AA site was so overwhelmed with complaints, that the Army outright fired most of the Development team and switch the location of the game studio to somewhere in Alabama. Whether this is good or not, I dont know, but from my time in the Army, I generally know that when this sort of thing occurs things only go from bad to worse.

Anyways, if you have managed to download the game and if you were lucky enough to play it, discuss it.

I'll have to ask my dad if he has copies in yet. I'm not even going to try a download down here. He has some say in the development of the game, so if you have any problems with it, speak up.

America's Army 3 runs on the Unreal Engine 3, which explains the great graphics. But because of that, it's next gen, so it should only be played on a computer that can handle it. (If you can handle Gears of War or Unreal Tournament III, you can handle this. If you can turn up their graphics all the way and have no problems, then the same should go for this. Hell, the console commands should even be the same.)

That aside, it's too bad that the game is buggy, though I would blame the jacket not updating on network problems, not the game. Even if the America's Army 2.0 network is still fine, the AA3 network (which I would think is a different network) probably needs work done on it. Just like Gears 2.

I beleive the reason that there are many problems, is two fold.

1. The servers cant handle the massive amounts of requests from players who want to play

2. The Developers were pushed to get this along, many who disagreed with the time schedule were fired, and when the game eventually came out (against the Dev's will) they were fired and the studio moved.

I however just played for about 3 hours, with no problems what so ever, so I think that either a lot of people were put off by the game and the load on the servs was less stressed, or the hotfix actually worked. The game still has a long way to go though, and I for one hopes that it gets better.
