In updating the rankings, I've decided to make a small change for purely cosmetic reasons. The 'Rating' numbers are straining my eyes with the small differences in decimal places so I've decided to use a star rating, just like the FIFA games do. I will keep the ratings, but they will not be shown on the actual ranking table. Below is my proposal for the 'Star Rating System': Teams with a rating of 0.00 to 51.00 will now be rated One (1) Star 51.25 to 53.00 = One and one-half (1.5) Star 53.25 to 55.00 = Two (2) Stars 55.25 to 57.00 = Two and one-half (2.5) Stars 57.25 to 59.00 = Three (3) Stars 59.25 to 61.00 = Three and one-half (3.5) Stars 61.25 t0 63.00 = Four (4) Stars 63.25 to 65.00 = Four and one-half (4.5) Stars 65.25 and above = Five (5) Stars Comments? Concerns? Again, this will only replace the number ratings on the ranking table, as I'm not up typing up all those numbers again. I, obviously, have to keep the number ratings and should you wish to know what yours is just PM me. I have the first round for each Continental Championship done and I hope to have the thread begun tomorrow. I've decided to wait until the end to finalize the new ranking table. |

Well, if you look at the current ranking list still posted, you'll find that you do have a small advantage: 0.25 Rating points higher! Does that really mean much? No. |

In thinking about RPing additional football tournaments and championships, the thought of dropping the numerical/star rating of the full rating/ranking table crossed my mind. Getting rid of the rating would simplify the process of updating the 32-team list considerably and would lead to shorter intervals between tournaments, which means more tournaments. Basically, I don't want to continue with the rigid specifics of a full table. Instead of a numerical ranking derived from victories and defeats, I would assign a RL club team (Manchester, Milan, Inter, Barcelona, etc.) to each national team (Porcu, Ulgania, Rome, Confederacy, etc.). I would keep the point table to decide the ranking of each team with respect to each other, but not their rating. In this way, there is still some sense of who is the number one team and how victorious each team has been so far. I leave the decision to you gents, as I want this (and as I always have) to be something entertaining for you as well. If you all wish me to continue with the full ranking/rating table let me know and I will continue it. If there are no objections, when I return from vacation I will wrap up the Continental Championships and then prepare for our World Cup with these changes. |

I would like some system where we could have some control over how our teams perform - defensively prone, offensively prone, balanced? Penalty prone, oposed to penalties?? That way, we could taylor a team to perform as we wish them to. |

Would that program you used for the Olympics be something we could use for this? We could create a list of items we wish to use as input items. I'm entirely for such a system, but I'm not sure how to go about it. Also, this part of the forum isn't too frequented, so my only hesitation would be that these football threads would grind to a halt because of lack of input from players. |

There's not much for us to do, unfortunately. Occasional news reports on the victories, defeats, and ties, but they'd get repetitive quickly. |

That's why I'm trying to streamline the process a little. I'd like to have tournaments regularly, something everyone can look at as sort of a break from regular RPing. |

I think maybe we could RP a studio show, with four to five of us each RPing different analysts. Idea? |

Well, we could, or we could post analysts IC talking about given tournaments within their threads. Both would work, I suppose. |

So I plan on creating a national team. They will be nicknamed "The Orions" (Sperian: Lis Oreonais), due to the prominent symbol of the constellation on both their uniform and the nation's flag, and will also be nicknamed "The Stellars" (Sperian: Las Tselarais). Sperry's name for their national football organization is La Fenderaxon Naxonau dai Pain-Bila Psereani (National Federation of Sperian Football, or FNPP). The coach is Antonei Capitosti, the captain is Chondani Laixi, and the FIFA Code is PSR ("Sperry" in Sperian is "Psairea"). Posted Image As for my jerseys, here they are. But the Home Jersey (on the left) needs some touching up: I want my flag's Orion Saltire to be vertically on the front, from the shoulders to the bottom of the shirt (but leaving out the stars that are outside the saltire): Posted Image Thanks a ton, Porcu. ^^ Feel free to make any suggestions on the style and the colour if you want. Just to clarify, you want me to edit the home uniform (left-hand side) to include the stars and their position inside the saltire, but not the ones outside? The uniform is yours, so as long as you're happy with the design and color scheme that's all that matters. |

Yep, that is correct. :) The ones in the flag outside the saltire are actually part of the constellation, but they'd just clutter the jersey, so it'd be best if they were left out. The ones inside the saltire definately go in though.

I really do mean to pay more attention to this :P However, I was looking at the National Ranking Chart and was wondering if a small change could be made...well actually a few changes  One is that the Eastern Empire does not have a football team (American or otherwise :P ), however if you need a team you can use Taiwan, they're independent and would be more likely to have a team. Also, could you take off Azania and replace it with the Brazilian Empire? I may also ask to have my new African nation put on here but I haven't made up my mind what to call it yet. |

Should be done, check it out. I relegated the Eastern Empire and Azania to 'Defunct Nations', since Azania no longer exists and the Eastern Empire will not field a team. I've added Taiwan and the Brazilian Empire too. |

I'm not sure about other sports, but I should have the ability to breeze through the rest of the international friendly matches before starting a new round of Continental Championships. Anyone is welcome to start, run, and manage a different sport; obviously provided that there's support for it. |

I tried to start boxing up a while back, but no one seemed interested at the time. Any thoughts on starting rugby? |

If there's another thread specifically devoted to the idea of starting up a rugby league then try to bump that and see if anyone takes. I'd be happy to two down a team or two, but I think it might get boring after a bit if the championship alternated between Swiss and Porcuian teams. |
