Final rendition for the national team of New Harumf: Posted Image If this is no good, let me know and I'll make any necessary changes you specify About the simulator/generator...It works very much like the Olympics generator, in the sense that a team's rating does matter in deciding an outcome. It's not as "random" as the example Metz used, the likelihood that a 10 rated team would beat a 99 rated team is quite rare, if not essentially zero. That's why Metz and I decided to keep a certain rating aspect intact, but instead of being drawn from a team's players it is drawn from that team's ability to win (or lose). The scoring engine/generator/ is not completely random, but keep in mind that for the first few tournaments because the teams are so close in rating the chances of your team winning or loosing are essentially 50% - 50%. I hope that makes sense... |

This is an example national team information guide, which I will use and update for myself, and I recommend people create one. It certainly does not have to be now, in fact it may make more sense to wait until the first few competitions are over before filling in information. Like with most everything else I'm posting now, in anticipation of the Dominion's fall, this serves just as an example and can certainly be added too. [I'll explain the "Confederation" system later, it's not that complicated] PORCU Posted Image Posted Image Home (L) and Away (R)

OOC: This is the general thread for soccer, right? Anyway, Porcu, I had a comment about the teams/flags. The name "West Romans," and the flag you used were used by the independent West Roman kingdom prior to the re-formation of the Empire of the Romans. Currently, the Empire is united (well its currently Dominion occupied), and uses the double eagle flag that is in my avatar. I was curious if the current soccer games were supposed to take place in the past, present, or future. |

It was to occur during a pause in the Dominion wars but with the Dominion still around. You can think of various nations under the Dominion as puppets. The point of the current confederations championship is to get the ball rolling. All successive tournaments will be assumed to occur after the fall of the Dominion. After this Confederations Cup, I will revamp things (get rid of the Dominion, add a new nation like Waarland, replace flags were necessary, etc.). |

Awesome and thanks. While for now we aren't going to hold a Club league I will save those kits to my computer. Your national team will be added into the next tournament. |

Oh, you were in this current tournament...For the next one, I'll just have to update your flag and name (possibly). You know what would help me out? If you could create a "National Team Information Guide" like the one I have above. |

Whoops... I just lost a reply I had typed. Ok, my country, in the next version, should be listed as "Roman Empire," "Empire of the Romans," or "Roman-Byzantine Empire." The last one would allow it to be distinguished from the Holy Roman Empire, which is helpful. For a flag, you could use my double-headed eagle avatar. I know you and TC had made club team uniforms earlier, but I don't know about the national team. And, I don't really know all the other information for the national team info guide. |

Well, if you check out the info guide that I posted for myself most of that information cannot be filled out anyway. The guides are meant to be updated slowly. As for your national team uniform, this is what I have made thus far: Posted Image It can be changed and modified by either you or me, your choice. And I'll make sure to update your nation's name into the next tournament. |

Oh, after I create a guide, should I post it directly in the guides topic, or let you do that? Finally, in your topic, it mentions confederation A. Should I substitute in whichever confederation the predecessor team was in in the current cup? |

Go ahead and post your guide directly in the thread I created for them. Like ED's encyclopedia of nations, people will post their guides directly in the thread and in the first post I'll simply have a link so that you can look specifically at yours by clicking it, instead of having to scroll down the page. As for the Confederation, yes, fill that area in with whatever confederation your team was in this first Cup. Confederation C, I believe. |

Looks exactly like it's supposed to right now  The only thing I have to point out is that I've changed the governmental body of soccer from "WUFA" to "FIFA". I also just added your guide to the list in the first post. If that link is defective let me know and I'll fix it, but it should work. |

Great. The link works perfectly. Also, I just changed the "WUFA" to "FIFA" in my post. I had used your guide in this thread as a template, instead of the updated one in the other topic, but now that part should be correct. Let me know if I missed any other occurances of "WUFA." |

Alright, so how'd the first tournament go? Was the setup fine (the tables, occasional reports from the PBC, etc.)? Were you expecting more of something? I'm considering regional or continental tournaments next. A championship for Europe, Asia, Middle East/Africa, Americas. Is there something specific you gents would like to see? Comments and suggestions are encouraged. ***Btw, if you are interested in future tournaments and games please create a national team info page. Thank you.*** Edited by Porcu, Aug 17 2009, 06:56 AM.

By posting here essentially. Flip through previous pages and see if you like what I do with uniforms. If so, I can create your team uniform. If you want something different or if your MS Paint skills are mad like mine go ahead and create your own. Post here and then make like a tree and post your national team info guide here. |
