Filo, We need a name for One National Team (Usually involving your nation name in it. Mine is Metz Soccer Club for example) Then, we need two names for two club teams. These names can be anything. It can be Sparta Budapest and Kapfenberger Sportvereinigung, unless you wanted one of those names to be your national team name. Those are good club team names though. If you (or anyone else for that matter) need help with having anything explained to you, feel free to PM me (or Porcu) with any questions and we will do our best to answer your questions and get back to you as soon as possible. |

To address what Metz just said, there is NO need for a national team name. Metz, I don't want to come across as an ass but you know how I love simplicity and creating 36, or however many, individual names for the national team on top of the names for the two clubs would be ridiculous. Porcu's national football team is simply the "Porcuian national football team." Nothing special attached. No "blue devils" or "wolverines" or whatever. Those are meant for the club teams. |

So we need a name for your two club teams. You national team name is already made for simplicities sake. Sorry if I made any confusion. PM me with your questions too btw, I know that some of you must have them... Also, THINGS TO REMEMBER 1. Your post with the suggestions for the league names and trophy names an such 2. Your post with your club teams names, jerseys, team rosters with positions, nationality, and ability level Edited by Metz, Jun 16 2009, 09:51 PM.

Please excuse my total ignorance regarding soccer, but being an American born during the dark years when no one in this country even heard of the game, I would like a little help. Positions: I know there is a goalie, but that is all. Could someone describe the position players I must designate, and if they are offensive or defensive? Thank you. |

There are Goalies (G) Defenders (D) midfielders (M) and Forwards (F) We have simplified the game much easier, as normally each defender, midfielde and forward would have a specific position, but we are just keeping it as D, M, and F. This site may help you out a little bit... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_football_positions The defenders are the yellow, the midfielders-blue and the forwards-red. We are making each roster hace specific positions and are going to have each team play a 4-4-2 formation. four defenders, four midfielders, two forwards, and then a goalie behind the defenders. Hope this helps!!! |

Well Done!!! It would be nice if you can only use the Symbols of G,D,M,F, as we are trying to keep it simple. Also, we still need the same thing except for your two club teams. Great work though, you did that correctly! |

ACHTUNG: UPDATE This is going to be the new official system… We have done this for convenience sake, realizing that not everyone is going to participate with posting individual players and everything (as needed by the original system), so this system is much simpler and is something that Metz and I can do on our own, and will require less participation from everyone else. THE SYSTEM WILL WORK LIKE THIS: Each team (Club and National) will begin with a rating of 50. -At the National level, each team is rewarded with a ½ point increase to their rating for a win, nothing for a draw, and a ¼ point decrease for a loss. -At the Club Team level, each team is rewarded with a ¼ point increase for a win, nothing for a draw, and a 1/8 point decrease for a loss. I will be taking care of the changes in rating, and will not require any attention from those participating. Your participation will come in the form of Team Updates, News Reports, Game Summaries, etc. WHAT WE NOW NEED: We still need everyone to send us (Metz and I) the two (2) names of your club teams, as well as how you would like your club team uniform to look. This club team option is only for those who are going to participate fully. We have created extra national teams to spice up the World Cup, creating 32 teams, but we will not be having 64 club teams. (All of the national team uniforms have been made, except for New Harumf’s, which is in the making) Also, we still need your feedback on what you would like the leagues/tournaments to be called, unless you are happy with what we have named them (located in an earlier post of Metz). WHAT WE NO LONGER NEED: …Everyone to create a detailed roster involving player names, positions, nationalities and ratings. Unfortunately, this also eliminates the Transfer Market, however everything will be much simpler and flow well. This does not mean that this will never happen; we just want to keep it simple to start with and add on later if necessary. We don’t want to sink the ship before it leaves the port. We will run a preliminary tournament with just the national teams to outline how things will be run when this officially begins after the Dominion falls. This is strictly just a simulation, and will take place in the thread entitled, “Soccer: World Cup Simulation”, so there is no need for any RP at this time. If you intend to participate fully please post your intention to do so and add your request for your club team uniforms, as well as posting your two club team names. Example: For Metz – Mossel Bay Soccer Club and Cape Town Soccer Club, MBSC to be an orange uniform (modeled after the Dutch national team) and CTSC to be modeled after US national team For Porcu – AC Milan and UC Sampdoria, modeling both uniforms after their RL teams Edited by Porcu, Jun 18 2009, 01:19 PM.

I dont know what you used for the Olympics, however Porcu has the simulator so he can go into more detail if necisarry. I am pretty sure it will be something along the lines of a random number generator and then everything is completely random. So technically, your team could have a rating of 99 and I could have a rating of 10 and I could win 3 to 0. Its all random, but I am sure that Porcu can explain it better if you need more detail. (I may be wong about this as he is going to be the one simulating everything.) By eliminating the player abilities and such, an offensive/defensive minded team will not be factored into the simulation. We are doing this so that everything is much simpler. We can always add the players and everything in future seasons with the way we have it set up, but we dont want to make everything too complicated and lose the interest of everyone. I hope this makes sense... Edited by Metz, Jun 18 2009, 02:38 PM.
