While it doesn't require as much creativity as political maps, I really would like to see geographical maps with a wealth of information on them.
I have wanted those for a long time.

In fact I remember early on in my African Map days when I was working on a geographical map of Africa with the major rivers.

Though I must say that I do love the satellite map version of Kybelis. It makes geography fairly visible. Which is why there is that overlay for political boundaries.

I actually think that major important rivers would be good to have on official maps, but I'm no expert.
While I agree it would be nice to have a representation of all rivers on our maps, I am not fully sure how this would combine with a nations' borders and color map, at least for K1. I will need to experiment with this further to check its viability. If it proves to be feasible I will, only with the support from NRE and Draxis, begin etching in the rivers. Until then, hang on to your britches.

That's what K2 is under development for. As Draxis said, its satellite and in crystal detail at that, few satellite mosaics of the entire planet are so crisp you can actually see the flows of the Amazon river; Hence why it was chosen.

You still have this, no? I am rather curious to know if it will ever debut.

Ladies and Gentlemen... It is with joyous news I have an announcement to make; Kybelis I is fully complete and ready for its debut. All of the regional maps are done (Huge kudos to NRE for his exceptional work on them,) and I am compiling the world map as we speak. Within the coming days you can expect the regional maps to convert to this new format, and eventually the World map too will be replaced with a new one- compiled together from all of the Regional maps combined.

I'd like to think NRE for his enormous investment into the project, the work and effort he put into this far exceeds my own, and I must say I was surprised by his enthusiasm about the project. We cooperated well in working together on what needed finishing and touched up, and also in general. If such a spirit of cooperation can be maintained between the map makers to be, then I forsee a bright future for Kybelis, indeed...

Without further ado, I happily unveil;

Kybelis Project: Europe and Kybelis Project: Africa

And by tomorrow, I shall also unveil the World Map currently in the work.

NRE? Would you care to unveil the other half of the project? ^^

But of course  ^^

I would like to say that although certainly not thrilled over the work that was needed to put this thing together at the start, after working on it I now can't see myself ever wanting to go back. These maps will make life so much more simple for so many reasons.

Oh an don't let ED fool you, his eye for the maps has allow us to clean up mistakes and make them the post-ready maps that they are. I've enjoyed working with him and his original blank maps are really what got this project off the ground.

Kybelis Project: Asia

Kybelis Project: Middle East

Kybelis Project: Americas

These are great guys!

Do you have a list of which numbers are which nation yet? Or will that be in the region maps threads?

More of less they should conform to the already establish map keys, at least all but Africa. I have a new key for it given that the one currently up is far from complete or even within map rules in some cases.

NRE, I don't have any authority in this particular subject at the moment so this is your fix, I am afraid. I have already fixed the issue with Africa and have relinked it in the unveiling posts, just save it from there to bring your copy up to date.

America, on the other hand, needs a flaw stamp out when you get the opportunity; Hinge Area - Canary Islands should be under the control of Basilea ton Rhomaion, and the Azores should be Esternarxian.

Oh no?

Go forth and Reveal your great works my map makers - for the new dawn has come.

Might I suggest archiving the old map threads and posting all new ones? Or just edit the new maps in. Either way, I want the "current" maps backed up somewhere.

In that case... To work, it is! Thanks for your confidence and support, Nag!

NRE did all of the number codes so I'll have to go back and make sure he didn't throw any curve balls in there, so I'll have to look everything over to make sure there's no curve balls. But it looks like we're in business.

Sorry for the Double-post, but I believe its important to note that ImageShack is being a bastage.

That said, will have to wait until they resolve their privy problems.

archiving them seems good but putting a link to the old in the new should be done just to make navigating back to them easier.

Yeah, archive 'em. And make a completely new thread to house Kybelis.
