My idea towards the economic slum is more or less just an acknowledgement by others that their nations are hurting for a while. We don't need to actually make a story out of it, just reference it in other stories that we make along the way for a while.

So as far as getting things started, what do you need Kas. You said you need to talk to people, do you have people in mind or is it just voluntary? If it voluntary, what do you need from these volunteers? I think we would all like to see this thing kick off soon even if its a slow start.

I need the major players involved in the war primarily. Anyone else is welcome. I'm on MSN right now. I'll try to talk as much as I can tonight, but how much will get planned with it is beyond me. Any other ideas after the talk, PM me.

Tell me what to do and I'll jump on board.

Oh, and anyone ever complete the original Command & Conquer as GDI? 'Cause Gassel should totally go out like Kane.

I take it we're not just going to assume the threat of the Dominion is no more after its collapse, right? What of a splinter group or groups, forming nets of military infrastructure throughout several points across the globe and causing trouble for the free world. This could also give more of a reason for the forming of the "League of Nations," to prevent a Dominionesque force from rising again, to foster better global relations, economic cooperation, and also to deal with and eliminate the Dominion splinter factions and assets that have survived the collapse, etc.

Our world has had so few "mini-factions," and even fewer whom have played a major role in our world. An immediate post-dominion Earth would be a perfect time to reintroduce one or more, seeing as there would be an unfathomable power vacuum left behind.

There will be several splinter factions of the Dominion after the fall of Zapht (which effectively ends the Dominion as we know it now). I know at least the KMR will return immediately after the fall of Zapht, and will include a good chunk of the Dominion's empire. Won't last more than an RP or two though. There will also be a Western Hemisphere faction, since it is not likely to suffer as much as the rest due to their location. The European faction will become Rafzakael (if he's still around to RP, otherwise I'll talk to Marslava, and if not that then I will RP it through the IMC).

Other factions will rise and fall all around the world (spaced out OOC for whenever I get bored or need a terrorist plot, etc.). The Dominion global stratocracy ideology will never go away completely though.

I plan to have a military government rise in Northern Georgia, certainly not a world changer but could allow for some interesting instances in the Middle East if no where else.

I forget, isn't half of Georgia still under Dominion (read: Nagian and Scythiran) occupation from the Georgia War?

No both parties left Georgia to its own devices basically. Only Southern Georgia has remained relatively stable, the North is battling terrorism currently.

Anyone part of the Roman Empire is welcome to represent them in this. I don't have the time. Maybe in May. I guess nag me if you really need me to do this. I know that the Roman Empire is a big factor in defeating the Dominion.

Oh might I add that one whose nations was deleted off a map under my last update who wishes they're nation be returned, just PM me. The only exception is if it has been taken already by a new player, otherwise you can have it back no problem.

Oh, and anyone ever complete the original Command & Conquer as GDI? 'Cause Gassel should totally go out like Kane.
There were two ending cinematics to the first Command & Conquer GDI Campaign. Blown up by Orca's and Blown up by Ion Cannon.

And four outcomes as Nod. Hijack the ION Cannon and Blast the Eiffel Tower OR Blast the White House OR Blast the London Parliament OR Blast the Brandenburg Gate.

I am a C&C Fanatic. Long live Kane! Peace through Power! ^^

No... You'd give Kas a heart attack. Sure, he's an ass, but he don't deserve to die like that. I jest, of course!

Edit: To throw this out there and reassure the shaky folks, it shouldn't take too long to wrap up the Dominion plot line. You've my word.

The original C&C is the best C&C. Beat that a long time ago. Late '90s.

If you REALLY need to get some RP's on to keep you occupied, in the past we used to do "Set-Future" RP's to get through slumps. RP's set after a specific set of events. If you go this route, don't make the RP too wide impacting and try not to get too far ahead of yourself, as it might be prudent to unleash all that repressed talent in one giant torrent after the Dominions collapse, rather than let it leak harmlessly into a little desert pond.

Warning: I am not quiting, regardless of how it sounds.

************************

I see people begining to post things, the rusty gears are turning. Old members are returning, bringing with them the epic posts I spent far to much time reading when arriving here myself.

My history of posting on these boards (RP-wise) has always been poking into other people's wars, stepping up into diplomatic RPs, etc.

May 27, 2008, I was looking for how they created the Dubai islands on google when I happened upon Nationstates. Intrigued, I made a nation and joined the first continent I saw, American Continent. Hesitantly, I typed in the forum address and was thrown into an alternate world where the largest power bloc is centered in Asia, unheard and made-up countries sit on the map, people roleplay their nation however they want, whenever they want, on a scale ranging from head of state to the lone soldier crawling across the muddy trenches.

The point is, I've not yet created an RP post that I'm satisfied with. I've yet to create a topic jumping from my own ideas, rather than yours (Of course, not counting my trade RPs back in my first 2-3 months). I'd like to come up with my own nation activities, NS1 and 2. Unfortunatly, I lack the time and patience to write the novel sized responses that make these RPs so interesting. I don't describe things effectively, I have read posts from several people here that make me feel as though I'm there, listening the politicans harass each other, watching the soldiers dodge grenades and missiles, enjoying the same walk through a park as that head of state I can almost visualize walking alongside me.

I've done more with NS2 because we all joined at the same time, ground floor. NS1 I jumped in and so much was going on, world war is on the horizon with a tangled, well planned web of alliances, bureaucracy, and deceit.

I want to do more with NS2 and ALOT more with NS1. I want to describe the situations so even the least imagninative member could see the event playing out in their office, living room, or wherever they are. I want to do solo RPs on the inner workings of my nation.

Maybe I just have really high standards for myself. Maybe I'm not putting in the time/dedication that you all put in to these posts.

Now, some of you are going to tell me it comes from experience. Some will say it's an inborn trait. Etc.

Now that I've praised you all to the high heavens, I ask you if any of you have advice, comments, suggestions, or whatever that can help me? I've PMed some of you and taken your suggestions into account. Feel free to restate it if you wish.

*************************

EDIT: Now, notice how I ask for help on making long, descriptive RPs with a long, descriptive plea.

Aye, joining just as the Dominion got swinging probably didn't help matters. Telos, I've been meaning to have an RP with you more directly than we have managed in the past. My posts aren't always the greatest example of 'great' or 'epic' but I just keep practicing (I'm sure such practice has come much to many member's chagrin XD)

My advice, Telos, develop characters and keep a roster of them. Then create events that affect one or more of these characters. Things tend to kick off well from there.

At least, thats how it happened in my experience. Others may have better ideas.

This. Practice makes perfect. My general advice is what I gave you by PM a couple weeks back, but if you have more specific questions, always feel free to ask me.
