OCC: This is not an expantion(at least not yet :) ) but part of the national program of Virginia to secure borders. Would be nice if some one, may be Kasnya, does some opposition. Arlington House, Arlington County Posted Image General Brigader Alexander Hamilton Alexander Two native powathan brigades and a regular virginian one arrived early in the morning at Arlington house. The elegant house, where General, and after Governor General Lee used to live, shining early in the morning sun. Under it shadow lie the tents of the army. General Alexander went out and saluted the officiers "Wellcome", he said "rest your troops", continued "we need fresh forces tomorrow". Richmond Enquirer - Saturday special edition North of the Potomac lies the state of Delmarva, a state of non-existance if we can express our own opinion on the matter. Culrurally the state of Delmarva is a part of greater Virginian Commonwealth and of the Powathan nation, so only the long, now concluded, colonial domination prevent Delmarva from join Virginia...Continue to page 16 Parliament Hous, Jamestown "I repeat", said senator LLoyd Thundercracker "That this is not a war of conquest, yet this is not a war at all!". "Hnorauble Thundercracker", replied the opposition delegate Martin Reeves "Governor General has send soldier...and why we should use soldier if it is not a war?". A chorus of approvation arose from the deskes. Thundercracker replied "I know what this honourable assembly think about war, and you know what i thing too, but this nation need to be secure, to be free and freedom, in many ways, ask difficult choices", his own party applauded "I promise", said anyway "that i'll try to kill no one of our soldier" Applauses. |

A new shining sun blazed over the Potomac. The ironclad Traveller crossed the water of the river, patrolling the area. Soldiers waited their moment of the southern shores. Lazily a Virginian flag waved to the wind. Arlington House, 5/23/1902 Dear Mama This day we are send to built a pontoon over the river. Potomac was a great river Mama and the banks are very distant each other. Jess, do you rember Jess? Jess said me that Delmarvians will shoot us just we reach the middle of the river. I fear, i have never fight, my rifle slopes useless from my shoulder and i fear to use it. Colonel Clinton says that we have nothing to fear beacuse Governor General Redriver has just settled the issue with Baltimora, but there are voices that say that this is not true. Tomorrow we will reach the middle and the "Traveller" ironclad may not be enough to defend us. If i should never return kiss my brother for me. Your: Daniel |

Arlington House, Arlington County From: General Brigadier A.H Alexander To: High Command of Powathan Country Army As the command had ordered my soldier have built a bridge over the Potomac. I have ordered to not cross the river to not give Delmarvians any excuse to attack battle, but if the Hugh Commad thinks otherwise i'll be ready to cross and i have called for two ironclads, "Traveller" and "Avenger" that i have anchored them near the bridge. Posted Image I, also, and from my own initiative, have started to built a fort on our banks of the river, as always if the command will belive it be useless, i'll suspend the work. |

Hoxon Hill, Northern Potomac Banks Dear Mama. We move on the northern banks, it is been a sunny day of may. If i can tell you mom, i had fear that Delmarvians could shot us, and when Jerry said that there are machinegun nest on the banks, i had fear, a very great fear. However mom, Delmarvians, not shot and we reach the shores thanks to great bridges built by engineers. We entered in Hoxon Hill at 12:00 o'clok and we met no resistance. Howver, as i has sayd to corporal, perople of the city seem to me not very happy, for nothing at all. I was chose from corporal to go to city hall to recive the surrender of the major and police chief. Policemen were on parade in main road outside the city hall. I was with Liutenant Joshua Bright and Corporal Thomas Twodeers, a Powathan irregular, major said something like "I surrender the city to your greater force" but neither he seems to be happy. Police chief, as i have understand after, was flee away to reach the central Delmarvian govermment in Baltimora. I have surely an interesting day. Have you some information about the decision of Delmarva? Have they decided to answer the invasion? I hope not, we are not here as conquerors. Kiss daddy and Clint for me. Your Daniel Shapburg, Delmarva From: Liutenant Joseph Magruder To: General Brigadier A.H Alexander. Shapburg is ours! The forces of Delmarva has retired before we reach the town. No hit is been shot. No resistance occur. Major Delamotte has surrender the city and the police office. I have heard, however, nasty voices of a military concentration near Hegerston capital of this county. What must i do? Send soldiers to scout? Or perhaps is beter to fortify and wait? |

Chrisfield, Prince Anne County From: General Alexander H. Alexander To: Powathan nation army HG. The city of Chrisfield has surrender this morning. No resistance. Ironclad "Robert E. Lee", has forced the port shooting some shot on the port. Only a private ship, a small fishing boat, no one was wounded, or worse, killed. I have, if i can write on a report, prayed the good Lord to have spare us froma battle However the people went very angry when my soldiers took the city hall and lowered the flag of Delmarva. Delmarvians police men diden't try to stop the crowd; so i used my soldiers. Securing line is going well but i fear that Delmarvians are waiting to attack us. So i wait orders. A.H. Alexander. Cumberland, Allegany County Daniel went out from the truck, the city of Cumberland was very the same of a Virginian town, old buildings lied to the sides of the streets, paved road welcome the Virginian soldiers. James "Jess" Longpine, alonside with Daniel Terry McCarman, was one of the first to enter in the city. If in other places the people looked them with anguish or fright, here the crowd looked them with hate. A deep, passionate hate, that was visible also in the children looks. Two wings of crowd sided the main road, called, if he remembered well "Baltimora Street", and recived them coldly, like an icecap of the Antartic. "I feel nothing good", said Jess to Dan. "Neither i", replied the friend. Posted Image The parade concluded when the column reach the city hall, as in many city they have just done. This time the situation was different. In front of the building there were a party of men armed with rifle. One, perhaps the major, or perhaps the sheriff went outside and yelled "If you want lower this flag, you must before wolk on my dead body". A cold like cocitus one dropped on the city, the soldiers and the civilians alike. Posted Image |

Richmond Enquirer

First Shot Posted Image All Virginia, native and white, is awake astonished this morning. Me too. When the radio, yesterday evening, called for mobilitation i was with my wife in an elegant Richmond caffè to drink a cup of thea with friends. Radio called for mobilitation. Governor General Red River called for 30.000 soldiers and and whole division of motorized cavallery. This morning(yesterday E.n), before to write this article i wired to Jamestown to ask informations. I have recived this. "The governament of Commonwealth of Virginia and Powathan nation is deeply regert to inform that during the occupation of Mechanicsville the Delmarvian army has shot to the Virginia Army". I was outraged. I am outraged. We were only securing our borders! Delmarva has declared us war. So i ask to Governor general Red River and to the Parliament: cancel Delmarva from the map!!! War, the scourge of people and destroyer of nations, is here", throws away the paper and takes another one "Here, i read that some journalist calls for peace, to avoid confrontation, to avoid war. Richmond Enquirer 7/5/1905 I'm writing from Frederick. It is a sloutherhouse, i never seen so many deaths in a single day. Our forces have reached the town early in yesterday morning but found the city surrounded by barbedwire and trenches. General Duoglas Twolonghouses, of Powathan nation, ordered to the city to surrender at 12:00 o'clock. When Liutenant McNamara of Frederick refused our cannons shelled the city for three hours and after Twolonghouses ordered a charge. Posted Image Virginian Cannons shelling Frederick At that point started the hell. I, and my fellows colleagues, were moved beck in the second line but smoke columns were visible for miles away and the roar of the cannons echoed in the plain. While i was in the backlines i cannot saw how exactly our soldieres were doing but i saw a great number of wounded and returned back; some one wounded so terribly that they prayed to die. The stretchers were not sufficient and some boy were pulled back on the shoulders of some more lucky friend. Posted Image A soldier took back on shoulder However officials assured me that we were winning. At least they tell the truth. After ten hours of bloodshell, at 10:00 PM or nearly Frederick surrender. Liutenant McNamara and Delmarva army surrendered to us. But how costly this battle is been? How many of our youngs men are dead to take the city? Posted Image A young, unknow soldier of Virginia that never turn back home |

Laurel, Delmarva 21/5/1905 Posted Image A pic after the long battle of Laurel Posted Image A draw, of unknow drawer, about the conquest of Laurel fort Dear Mama. It's me. Your son Daniel. Mama, the war goes on, yesteday me and my company went throw in a great battle. Our own army and Delmarvian one clashed togheder near a place, than lately i know as Laurel. Yuou could be proud of me mama, i bring the banner of our own nation at the top of the enemy fort! I'm very proud of this mama. Around us the nemy shells went down like a rain, unfortunately, ************** *********(censored by postal departement), died *****(Censored by Postal Departement) I wish to tell you how the battle started, becuase i belive that after this battle war is at a turning point. At the first our cannons shelled enemy positions for hours, i cannot tale you mom the ****(C. By PD) and sense of extiment while i'm waiting my moment, my first battle. Colonel Carthwright, have i talk about him? no? i should because he is great and i belive that he have a great political future. However he went to me and said "Boy, i have seem you these days", he said and gave me a flag adding "i wish you bring the color at this battle, remeber always to be the first and never leave the colours to fall". I felt myself great, i was chosen to be an hero!!! Well we was called, me and my regiment i mean, we were called to form the first line, i have heard from other boys that first line was *** **** *****(C. By PD) but i was happy the same because now i have my chance. So we marched to the front line, where cannons, by distance were engaging a long distance battle. When we launch ouself in the battle was like entering in the hell. Screams, shots and thunders from artillery sorrounded me and my fellows. Colonel Carthwright was near me and helped me to survive this day. I never see to run much blood in a single day! Their front ranks substained our attack for a hour or two but at least superior courage and bravery(and better rifles) helped us to move in advance. Laurel was stormed after a three hours battle. Then started the worse, fight house by house was ehxausting and very difficult and hard because enemies hidden in the houses and i have heard, i pray to have heard bad informations that our soldiers ****** some **** and ***** At a certain point enemies retired and turned back in the fort that we stormed with great "elan". I was the first to reach the top, Carry, a boy from Stauton, have drow me and the others. Now i must leave you mama, it is my turn to wash the dishes. I love you Your son: Daniel |

Salisbury, Delmarva Posted Image Virginian Soliders at Salisbury battle 1/6/1905 Deam wife. How is our son? I miss him very much. I remember his smilies before i leave for the front, i hope he smiles again. Is it just shool finished? I wish that this hell will finish soon, so i can return home to play with him. Probably you have read from newspapers; we are stopped at Salisbury. Delmarvians had stopped us nearly 20 days ago and since then we are unable to move, neither an inch from this hole. Cannons roar the whole day, every days but enemy stay retreaded in to their trenches like animals in their dens. However my dear, you must have no fear, because warfare level is very low, only cannon hits from both sides. I fear, however that between some days we must charge in their trenches and drive them out or we cannot take this city. Also a dumb can see the importance of Salisbury for the war, if we take the city whole peninsula will be ours because it is an important center of comunications, four great roards and four raillines converge here. If the day of the attack will come before i'm able to write you, my beautifull wife, kiss our baby for me. Signed: Colonel Richard A. Tate. |

Delmarva Coast, Peapatch Island, Bay of Delaware Posted Image Any resistance is breaked, today commodore Philmore P. Goodman has gave to the Commonwealth a great victory over the sea to add to other victories on land. The Commonwealth fleet, cruising in Delaware bay, has meet, yersteday at noon, the main delmarvian fleet. Delmarvian admiral, Admiral Gerret A. Bronson retired, trying to avoiding the fight but Goodman porsued him until he reach it in front of the kye island of Pea Patch Island in Delaware river estuary. The two fleet faced whole night and in the morning, with a hand stroke, Commonwealth marines took the island after a long fight 7 hours long. Deprived by the fort aid, at its guns it was covered, Delmarva fleet was ready to be attacked. Posted Image The battle started near 4.00 PM and was, compared to the island battle, short only 4 hours. Goodman has took the fleet on enemy right side and has hit with the most power he could. Delmarva fleet, just outnumbered retired in disarray and was definitely destroyed. Emeny fleet lost 10 ironclads(2/3 of the fleet) and 23 transport(4/5 of transport), we lost 6 Ironclads and 9 transports, gaining also a great position to menace Delmarva coasts. -- From a telegram send to Richmond Esaminer. |

Baltimora, Capital of Delmarva The ambassador of Virginian Commonwealth entered in the hall between two wings of officers and clerks. Delmarvan president, an old and sick man was sitting behind a great desk. "Do you know, Mr Rely", said "that this desk belonged to Washington?" The Ambassador, Mr. Rely replied "Yes i know that and if i'm not wronging there is a legend that said tha he carved the desk by himlsef". Delmarvan president smiled "Yes, you remember well". Rely set on a chair and smiled again "Now i belive we can talk of peace Mr. Chessnut". "Peace mr. Rely", president Chessnut replyed "this is not peace mr. ambassador, but a capitulation". Rely looked at the papers on the desk "Yes it is", said simply "but our soldiers are so near to Baltimora that you can add nothing to this treaty". "This mean end of indipendence", Chessnut said. "But yiu will join to a greater commonwealth", Rely said "we have won and you lost, pray our Parliament will not use more hard hand". |
