In the past several weeks, Morrocon had gone from neutrality, belligerently siding with one side over the other, to officially declaring war upon those opposed to the Dominion. With the majority of the Senate having supported Obama in his bid for a dictatorial position, only a handful few had enough common weight with the people to vocally oppose him. Now this opposition would be their downfall, Senators Azim Mezegebu, Jifar Mengisteab, and Ato Gabresilassie Ingidayehu were now frantically cleaning their offices...deleting hard drives, burning letters, memos, the such. The Office of Strategic Services would soon send in operatives to apprehend them if they can't reach the Ulganian border. Gentlemen, as of now, we are enemies of the state. There is no return to Morrocon until Obama and his Ministry is out of power and the Dominion is defeated. I have made arrangements for our families to get across the border weeks ago. At this time, leave your cellphones. With all the monitoring plus Dominion aid, they will only be liabilities. Mezegebu said while closing his attache case. How do we get out? We can't just walk out the freaking door, they'll be here any minute! Mengisteab replied. If we can reach my office, I know of a passage through the ventilation shafts that can link us to the old sewer system. From there I think we can bypass danger for the time being. Ingidayehu said while loading his pistol. Good! Let's get out of here. My one and only real contact with the military has provided us with a 24 hour window of escape. Assuming we can reach the border. From there, we are to meet with an Ulganian operative who will handle our security to Serpentine City. OOC: For the sake of making this work, I'm sure it's acceptable that a spec-ops land route is capable of existing between northern and southern Africa since the fall of East Ziyer. Colonel Castalu sat aboard the third in the line of seven indiscreet looking vehicles. They were winding through the hastily constructed, poorly maintained roads that were made to service the old Zeelari railroad. The infrastructure for the rail had been an early strategic target for the Dominion on both fronts, as it still technically stood as a supply route. Now the service roads were being used by civilians on a greater basis as they were mostly refugees. The cars were nothing exciting these days, but they still wound their way south. Inside of them were the Colonel's soldiers, Zeelari and Sahndaqi operatives mostly, and the three Morrocon Senators. Serpentine was far removed from the volatile north, the sea, and the stalemated campaign in the west. Edited by Ulgania, Feb 27 2009, 03:56 PM.

CNNP, I know you’re busy so if you want to keep this going I’m willing to take as much of the load as you would like. Just send me a message about A. How you want the war to unfold B. What exactly the Senators can accomplish/what they can do for Ulgania C. Anything you want to see happen in the RP I’ll do the lionshare of the work if you tell me which way to go with it |

The military convoy arrived at a rendezvous point at a prearranged location in Free Nubia. Senator Azim Mezegebu was the first to get out of the car, followed sharply by the other two Senators. They were continuing a discussion held in the car. Colonel, as you are aware we served together in the Senate for the Defense Ministry. Our nation's defense forces were largely due to our bills and sponsorship. If there is a way to knock out Morrocon's defenses, we will provide it. No sooner had Sen. Mezegebu's words left his mouth and the other Senators unloaded from the vehicle, Senator Mengisteab happened to look overhead. Azim, Ato look at that. You all know what that is. That is the new Predator model spycraft for aerial surveillance. Totally mechanized, no human operator. With all due respect Colonel, we need to deploy the men and ready for a defense. They'll be here shortly. Why don't we just make a run for it. Load up and get the hell out of here! Ingidayehu clammered. Because that is Morroconian protocol. Colonel in about 15 minutes and vicious and lightning fast infantry unit of about 150 will be deploying. Ready what we have... Posted Image |

Colonel Castalu understood the order. Fighting had already broken out in many areas along the Sahndaqi/Morrocon border, all of which was bloody and intense. It stood to reason that the Moroccon army would be quick to respond to any sort of threat. “Let’s get going then. My men can get entrenched in a few moments and ambush the Morrocons as they arrive,” Castalu said, thinking of a plan as he spoke. “Hiding fifty people is never very easy though. We are professionals, Senator so with all due respect I will ask that you follow our commands.” The preparations took only moments, the most difficult of which was the laying of several mines several hundred feet in the road before the vehicles, followed by semi-obvious trip lines between the mines and the vehicles that would detonate roadside explosives. A small knoll to the west made for a decent ambush area. As the troops settled in and tried their best to stay hidden among the terrain the Moroccon forces arrived. “There’s your 150 men, Senator,” Castalu said. Half of the colonel’s men were a little farther north, settled in a flaking position. The plan was to wait for the mines to go off, and for the Morrocons to rush the vehicles. After the first set of mines were detonated and at least 1/3 of the Morrocon force had gone down, the two halves of Castalu’s force engaged the shattered force. The battle was quick, and the elite unit quickly dispatched the attacking force. One man was kept alive, and he was thrown in the same vehicle as Senator Mezegebu and Colonel Castalu. OOC: Reviving this… Morrocon’s been long neglected and CNNP doesn’t seem to be coming back. Morrocon forces were never ‘committed’ to anything outside of fighting my own, so I’m going to do this. |

The colonel and senator interrogated the frightened detainee as the convoy wound its way south, over several days getting closer to the former Dominion stronghold of East Ziyer. "Why would Obama join the Dominion? Don't you see, we have mobilized the continent against them, and now you, personally will see the devastation we've brought upon them," Castalu said, referring to the utter razing of East Ziyer. "It wasn't my choice. Joining them was Obama's decision," the soldier said. "And? Why do you think we're here as well," Senator Mezegebu asked. “Why do you think that there’s a convoy of Ulganians moving us out?” “We’ve always known the government and the church couldn’t agree,” the soldier said. “My company’s CO had personally requested that his unit didn’t have to engage anti-Dominion forces directly. We were patched together into a larger army that would stay away from the front line, with the government understanding that we would most likely surrender or completely rebel,” he said. Castalu raised an eyebrow. “So you’re saying some compromises have been made already?” “Yes. There are a good number of us who have been willing to revolt.” “Well, I officially apologize for our ambush,” the colonel said. “The only reason that I’m not angry is because our moral has been low for weeks. A lot of us have been resigned to death soon anyway… we’ve always heard rumors that Dominion operatives would see to our demise anyway. But, we also know that their lines are thin as it is so they’ve had to make compromises of their own. Senator, I do want to know why you’ve never spoken out,” he asked. Senator Mezegebu seemed slightly taken aback by the question. “I suppose that is a fair question, but our own actions have had to stay as neutral as we can manage. Getting out of the country is a bigger priority at the moment.” “No, please, stay in Morroco! The Church has been communicating with a lot of the dissenting units! They don’t have the pull to lead a revolt, but if we had people such as yourself, and the other Senators in this convoy then we could overthrow the government! We can do it! Please go back to Morroco!” Castalu gave a weary look to Mezegebu. “It’s not safe to turn back. We need to get to a safe locale before we can work on a line of communication. I’m sorry, but I’m going to be bringing everyone back to Ulgania first. Once we’re in Serpentine, we’ll be able to work out an actual plan.” OOC: My invasion plus the oncoming revolt is most likely what CNNP’s plot line was going to be. |

The revamped Sahndaqi/Zeelari forces pushed forward into Morrocon. 4 million GIs and 1 million special forces, with 1 million mechanized infantry in reserve. The allied forces had long maintained a foothold in the country but since the war had stalemated in the south, resources had to be diverged and simply maintaining the foothold was more than difficult. The naval campaign had, despite being heavily in Ulgania’s favor at one point was now stalemating, but this was made up for in the evening out of the air war, long in the Dominion’s favor. The retooled air force was now defending factories much more efficiently and forcing the fighting to remain over Morrocon. Mezegebu and the other Senators had arrived in Serpentine with the dissenting Morrocon soldier. Private Hammid Nasser had turned out to be a relative wealth of information, and the Black Ops assets that General Mateljan had placed in the country before the war started had been fed orders that would ascertain if the information Nasser was giving them was true or not. As reports began to filter in that there were indeed an extremely large number of dissenters in the country the Ulganian invasion was then considered to be a matter of time. As Obama had decided that the dissenters should be deployed south, closer to Sennar so that Dominion forces would be able help consolidate power after the fighting in Menhad had ended, the Ulganian forces were nearly unstoppable. OOC: Time clarification: I’m summarizing a lot of stuff that should’ve been done between Christmas and the recent fall of Menhad IC: Brigadier General Senritsu, a former Zeelari patriot who was one of the more highly honored Zeelari field-commanders in a previous war with Menhad was in charge of the forces entering Morroco. His command was very hefty, but his operations still fell under the auspices of General Mateljan. The operations in the ground were going heavily in Ulgania’s favor, as nearly half of Obama’s forces were on the defense. Inroads were being made deep into the country and the morale of Obama’s soldier’s had been showing cracks. Ulganian investment in the Brabinski Missile Launching Vehicles had proven effective. Guided missiles being launched twenty at a time from hundreds of these vehicles ripped through armored columns and supposed infantry locations. Once a target was within fifty miles of the Brabs, it could be destroyed within minutes. Concealing these vehicles was as easy as covering the launchers, making them resemble unarmed APCs. In the south, the Black Ops agents had started coalescing with the Orthodox Church against Obama and the scattered units of dissenters which were meticulously separated for preserving stability were uniting. The largest concern was, currently, retaliatory counter attacks from Sennar, but before that could happen the remnants of the pro-Dominion military were finding themselves surrounded by the Ulganian Federation and nationalist Morrocons. OOC: This should bring us to present. IC: The Morrocon Navy had quickly come to be a Dominion asset, but in the first stages of its deployment the Ulganian Navy encircled it and began blasting it before it could mount much of a threat. The emphasis on carriers by over a hundred cruisers helped the attacks. OOC: For lack of a better post, earlier on I had it encircled anyway. Since my major attacks on it, my own navy has grown to be much larger as time has gone on. It can also be assumed that the dissention also exists in the navy as well. I know the past couple posts haven’t been great writing, but they’re really only summarizing events in the country up through the fall of Menhad. The country is now more or less under my control but is wide open for Sennari counter-attack. If there are any issues with this summarization just PM me and I’ll edit the posts. However, I’m going by what CNNP was probably aiming towards. |
