I really wish people would stop saying "global warming lulz" whenever the weather is cold. But yeah, I got snowed in. I've never been snowed in. I wasn't even at home! |

I will always say "global warming lulz" whether or not it's cold. Ahhhhhhhh. I go with the theory that Earth goes by 250 year warming and cooling periods. Right now we are going into the cooling period. There's as much data to support this as there is for global warming. Just look at the past couple thousand years of climate trends. |

That's kinda hard to do since we've really only had thermometers for, what, the last 200 years? However, look at the indirect evidence, like paintings of skaters on the canals of Amsterdam in the early 1700's and other such "odd" phenomenon. |

Simply put, I'm not ever going to stop saying "global warming lulz." Why? Because it's BS, and I love that so many people STILL believe it. I'm curious, how much snow does it take to snow you in? |

According to Google news, looks like around 10 inches of snow in the UK. Edited by Tristan da Cunha, Feb 4 2009, 03:13 PM.

Oh, the pictures I've seen look more like 3 to 5 inches. Maybe TC misread, and it said 10 cm! |

Global climate change is occurring. I do believe that it is a natural process, however the human population is not doing anything to stall it, and indeed may be exacerbating it. ... Erm, global warming lulz. |

Also, look for records of it snowing in Middle East. At one point in the Crusades, it was ridiculously hot (Battle of Hattin, etc), more so than usual in the Middle East. But at another point, it actually snowed in Jerusalem. And what happened in the last couple years? It indeed snowed in Jerusalem, something that does not happen often. Snow in Jerusalem makes global warming very hard to believe. |

Now, I do agree Al Gore should stop embarrassing himself, and I do want to club some seals right now and sell the meat and organs to a Japanese seafood restaurant. But we must not forget, it is summertime in the southern hemisphere and yesterday was 116 F in Melbourne, Australia, the hottest ever recorded there. 35 confirmed dead from brushfires in rural/suburban Australia. Getting roasted to death is a pretty depressing way to go out. http://www.theage.com.au/national/death-toll-rises-from-bushfires-20090208-80jv.html?page=-1 Edited by Tristan da Cunha, Feb 7 2009, 10:13 PM.

This is why if I ever go to the Australian outback I'll need to keep a handgun on me at all times. So when I see a freak inferno from one end of the horizon to the other end, bearing down at me at 60 mph, I can shoot myself in the head to avoid getting consumed by a hellish fireball. |

Hmm, good point. It might be Satan himself bearing down on me. Either way I would probably have to kill myself with the last bullet. |
