So I saw on the news that there's going to be some kind of snowstorm 'round here starting mid to late tomorrow and going through Tuesday. So here's a thing. Will any of my professors cancel class? What do you all think?

Probably depends on how much snow Missourians are used to getting. People in the deep south are up in arms when there's a light frost. While people in Canada don't bat an eye when the town's just been crushed by an avalanche.

I've never seen a University class cancelled because of a snowstorm and I live in Quebec. So, my short answer would be "no".

Got some snow today. School was cancelled.

Now, there isn't even alot of snow. I stepped into it and it won't even come up over the sole of my shoe, about 1/2 an inch.

Yet last week it snowed enough that the buses were cancelled yet school wasn't and so I had to walk to school in snow up to my knees. Now in a couple decades I'll tell my grandkids that I had to walk 2 miles uphill, in the snow. Both ways actually.

Can someone explain the logic behind this? They let us out for a bit of snow, but not for alot?

CLEVELAND ROCKS!
:D :D :D

We got the "magic stuff" as far as school closings go.......

Freezing Rain.

Yep, OU: Closed today. I hear we never closed, but so did my high school before my class hit... I'm lucky... Real lucky...

Better yet, it's snowing now..... Meaning it's below freezing now.... Meaning that any water on the roads should freeze. 2 days in a row... Come on Thursday! Get me out of that polysci exam!

Good call Harumf, the roads were mostly clear this morning and nothing was cancelled.

Except that the university shuttle came five minutes early this morning and it darted past as I was leaving my apartment building, so I had to trudge through the back roads, which are not cleared very well, to get to class.

Jersey coast. Cold, but not alot of snow. No benefits of New York, but all the disadvantages. Such as if NYC ever gets nuked, we go with it.
