OOC: Saturday night, posting here is much better than alternatives at the moment. IC: Desert Command lived. To General Tibathian, that’s what mattered. Since the massive stocks of Zeelari arms depots had been made available to the public, the Dominion advances into cities in the west were as brutal as ever. Ulganian citizens had known war, and while they had little chance of gaining a real victory they gave the Dominion their all. Every citizen capable of wielding a weapon was armed. The motivation of having their lives being forfeit if the Dominion took a hold of them was more than enough to give every Ulganian reason to pick up arms. Operation Dark Storm, a play off of cloud seeding had significantly slowed down air strikes and armored advances, as the artificial weather had made the dry, arid areas near impossible for heavy armor to move swiftly. Sorties were still possible, but it took significantly greater efforts to fly bombing missions in the morass of clouds and made Ulganian fighters, already prepared for these conditions more able to counter attack. All of this however was in delaying. Sheer Dominion numbers were drawing into cities, but the attacks were more as a rapier strike, than the intended claymore. Tibathian’s statement, that every Dominion soldier that challenged him would never see the light of day again was holding true, but the cloud-seeding operations were forced to cease as soon as Dominion fighters entered the picture. Within two or three weeks the clouds would be gone, and the sun would begin to beat down on the lands once again. For now, Ulganian soldiers were being forced to fight in the dark, and citizens were forced to take up arms in the dark, leading to great slaughters of foreign soldiers. These were however losing. With Ulganian cities in the expansion zones falling, and Desert Command slowly being surrounded, Tibathian prepared to retreat, and make the central Ulganian cities more defensible. Several nuclear weapons were being prepped for detonation underground. The devastation they would bring to the countryside would effect all parties, but should the South Ziyer Army push too deep, the industrial areas would be under attack faster than they could be defended. |

The East Ziyer campaign was in its final strategic phases but it was by no means fait accompli. Intelligence showed that the Dominion would soon be detonating the Zanzibar Gun, which Tibathian had expected. In his view, it was in the favor of cost tolerance to take the gun. Ulganian forces would lose too many resources, and the guerilla warfare occurring in the area was becoming a problem. The scattered EZC forces were no longer in positions to put up serious resistance, but the scattered campaigns could bring the Ulganian forces down through a conflict of a thousand cuts if there was not a redeployment. 1.5 million soldiers of the original 2.2 million were moving towards the Western Front, and would remain there to serve Tibathians new plan. The Dominion’s emphasis on targeting civilian centers, while travesties were giving opportunity. As natural evacuations were drawing civilian populations eastward it was giving the continuously reinforced Ulganian forces more freedom to attack Dominion forces as they blasted into cities and other municipalities. The city of Sans Aquae, located in a dry patch and an ancient center of trade was one such city. A near complete evacuation of the city made matching Dominion muscle easier, and let the army move in and blast any building or street considered in Dominion possession. Many of these cities had seen action like this in the Civil War, and just as those times the fate of the nation’s future was at stake. Similar campaigns were being waged in many other western cities. It had been a shame to see Metz western border overrun, but the sparsely populated mining areas were not that much of a concern. Ulganian forces stationed in and around the mines had retreated back, and were joining up with forces that were committed to shoring the lines of the Metz army. 50,000 remained in Ulganian controlled territory to mop up what was left of the scattered Dominion forces. |

OOC- Just know that this is gonna hurt, Ulgania. But then, thats the price of victory.... IC- It was time. Observer units scattered throughout the province were reporting that Ulganian units were near the reactor complex...500,000 of them to be exact. For some reason, the enemy was keeping their distance from the Zanzibar Gun, but as a result, the bulk of the Ulganians in East Ziyer were now within the vicinity of the Saturn Reactor Complex that powered the entire province as well as the Zanzibar Gun itself. The hidden facility was the only fortified complex the Dominion still held in the province, and the commander of it knew it was only a matter of time before the Ulganians found it. Resigning himself to his fate, he sent a single, heavily encrypted transmission to the High Command in Zapht
------------------- In Zapht, Field Marshal Avar Takriir recieved the message. Quickly and without a word, he walked over to the manual override controls for the Zanzibar Gun in the corner of his office. It had been constructed to remotely operate the cannon (and her sister guns) without need for a middleman. Now, with the imput of the self-destruct code, it would be used to doom half a million enemy troops who dared to wrangle a piece of territory from them. The only thing Takriir regretted was that teh reactors in the complex had been on constant combat production mode for such a protracted period of time, feeding pure plasma into the Zanzibar Gun, otherwise at full capacity the explosion of the complex would have annhilated all of southern Africa. Alas, he would be happy for just Northern Ulgania and East Ziyer. ---------------------- Five minutes later, the reactors started overloading themselves as coolant was pumped out of the system and replaced with liquid explosive poxy. One by one, each core melted down and began to go into supercritical. In the cannon itself, the usual MOAB slug was replaced with an oversized capsule full of the same explosive poxy. Rather than being prepared to fire, the slug was moved slowly to the front of the barrel, acting as a plug, as the space between it and the loading breech was also filled with pressure-sensitive explosive fluid. The cannon would fill its barrel with this until the pressure became great enough to detonate and destroy the cannon, as conventional explosives did not work. The cannon went first, as the pressure finally reached critical and detonated, splitting the barrel like a banana right down the line and vaporizing the superstructure that held it up, and sending a chain reaction to the nearby military base where its magazines were located, destroying it too in what amounted to a great fireball as though by a thousand MOABS firing at once (and frankly not far from the truth). Only the Dominion defenders died in this, as the Ulganians had expected the cannon to be destroyed. Those near the reactor complex however, were not so lucky. A minute after the cannon went up, the shockwave down the main power grid finally gave the push needed, and the entire reactor complex went up in a great dome of pure destruction, vaporizing everything in its path in white light. Everyone on top, in, or nearby north Ulgania and East Ziyer were burnt to a crisp. Such was the Dominion's revenge for their first significant loss of the war. -------------- In the Middle East and North Africa, there were cheers when news came that the dreaded Zanzibar Gun had been overrun and destroyed. For the sake of morale, the casualties were not released to the public. For the Dominion, this was saddening news, but they quickly refocused on their campaigns. The Supreme Order would come to pass, and no one was going to stop it. |

The loss of the Zanzibar gun represented a tradgety for the Dominion side. Though it inflicted casualties on its attackers, Ulgania now had one less front to deal with, which couldn't bode well for the other fronts. On sea, objectives were accomplished. With the reinforcments of Telosan's naval forces, entire fleets were now capable of bombarding the shores as they pressed ever closer. Submarines everywhere continued their hits, stalking the seas day and night for a target. In the Red Sea, Dominion and Telosanti naval forces had succeeded in holding Ulgania there, though it was not sure for how long. As the land war had taken a grim turn, the sea war looked optimistic. |

OOC: I'll get a more tactical post up soon. Just wanted to respond to it the detonation. Nicely written Kas IC: The news came in slowly at first. Nothing was clear, and no single source of information was credible. Satellites over East Ziyer were useless, as the explosion, or what Tibathian and others hoped was just an explosion was too bright to make out. It was not the reports of the situation that bothered Tibathian, it was the utter lack of them. All of East Ziyer seemed to have fallen off the map. Even up to an hour after the incident, satellites were having trouble refocusing or locating anything. “Don’t even bother,” Tibathian said when an advisor tried another workaround to get a focused picture on the Zanzibar Gun. “We knew the Dominion would detonate the Saturn Reactor. That’s why I had it surrounded from afar, and didn’t take on the immediate forces. No, I thought I kept them far enough away. Ladies, gentleman, the East Ziyer Theater has concluded. It will take some time for us to calculate exact losses, but know this: we have made The Dominion realize Africa does not belong to them. “Also, let us remember that we still have a war to fight. We should be thankful that our plans have gone as they have so far.” With that, Tibathian and his staff returned to their work. Some were still having trouble comprehending the situation, but would come to accept it. Now the evacuations of western cities could also bring up recruiting. -- Julius Hadaraf, Sahndaqi by birthright had volunteered for the Ulganian Federation forces, and after training had been deployed to the East Ziyer front. His unit had been on the front line, stationed at the wall and part of the first divisions of Ulganian soldiers that were supposed begin pushing back, north into Ziyer. The campaign had gone well, but Julius had learned quickly not to get to close to people. It seemed as though every time he chatted with someone, learned about them, their families, he or she ended up getting killed in a firefight. After weeks of heavy fighting, Julius’ unit had been sent back to the wall for a few weeks of R&R. They all knew they would be redeployed, but wanted to take advantage of the break. They were battle hardened now, but the war machine that they were a part of, and the machine they were up against was very taxing. Julius was in a humvee, part of a larger convoy that was headed out of East Ziyer and into Ulganian territory. A light suddenly grew behind them, then moments later a blast of sound and heat hit them. The sheer quakes threw the vehicles off the road, including Julius’. He climbed out of his humvee clumsily, and saw his comrades strewn around. Some were struggling to get up. Others were obviously dead around him. Then, another blast of almost sheer energy overwhelmed him again and he blacked out. Seconds later, his eyes opened. He staggered to his feet and saw something on the ground. He tried to pick it up with his right arm, only to realize it was his right arm that was lying there. He shed a tear, or at least tried to as the heat increased, his legs grew weary, and he collapsed. He looked north again, and could almost make out an immense mushroom cloud, but it looked like it was pure light. Directly looking at it also caused him to lose his site. Julius had not realized he was blind, but thought that he was ascending into heaven, and smiled as the next shockwave took away his already drained life. -- From the sea, off the coast of Ulgania where every ship available was looking to blast through whatever Telosan ship it could find, to the dark, stormy front line in the Western Theater where the reinforcements from East Ziyer were beginning to arrive and prepare for the larger battle ahead, to the Red Sea where the Ulganian fleet was stalemating the Dominion and slim Telosan fleets in the fight for the Bab el Mandeb, to the forces trying to defend what was left of Menhad, to the forces in Metz helping the swelling ranks of the Metz army prepare for another large battle, to the forces deployed to Sahndaq that awaited their fate in the fight that had yet to even start in the northern areas of Africa, Ulganian forces everywhere paused as they felt the very Earth beneath them shake, and a light glow from vantage points that would allow it. At this, they continued on quickly, but it was later when the truth of the matter came out that the war effort seemed to pause on all fronts, if only for a minute to continue the immediate fight, but the lives of those who died were remembered. Ulganians were losing their lives, but they were yet to lose this war. Let the loss of something as powerful of the Zanzibar Gun be a sign to our enemies that we are committed to the task at hand. Let them know that we will never give up in this fight, and let them know that the millions of Ulganians who had been on that front, and now fighting elsewhere have an even greater will to fight. Speeches like these were being made by every general and politician. Ulgania would never forget its dead, and would make sure The Dominion knew it. |

"The Zanzibar Gun has been destroyed, Your Excellency. The enemy has suffered IMMENSE losses," Vice Chancellor Veicht announced via intercom, "The Ulganians will learn not to grow arrogant with their wins-" "We have lost a strategic asset, Friedhelm," Gassel replied back. He had learned from Field Marshal Takriir, the Chief of the Dominion General Staff, that East Ziyer had fallen, due to extensive preparedness on the part of the Ulganians and lack of strength of the East Ziyer Corps, "Arrange for live broadcast. Now." "With whom? Why?" "Redirect communications satellites and the broadcast airship transmissions to all of Africa. I want to speak directly with those who dared to grow so bold." "As you wish, Your Excellency...." ------------------------------------ An hour later, all transmissions across the bandwith over africa were jammed as a audio/visual transmission was broadcast on all channels, much like it had been when the Dominion had been proclaimed over a decade ago. On screen was the stony face of one Konstantin Ganz Gassel, dictator over half the world and currently infuriated.... "To the foolish resistors in Africa, know that your time is near. By destroying an asset such as the magnificent Zanzibar Gun, you have ensured your annhilation. Whereas others who suffer defeat would merely have to regain their honor through hard labor and alignment to the Supreme World Order, know that the Ulganian people and culture shall be dismantled piece....by.....piece. Surrender now and I shall show you mercy and make your civilization's executions quick. Continue to resist and no quarter shall be shown. The time for honorable combat in Africa is at an end. Perish before the might of the Dominion, for you have no other future!" And with that the transmission ended as abruptly as it began, and broadcasts over Africa had returned to normal. |

The destruction of the Zanzibar Gun was a huge pressure off of African Menhad, without the big gun shelling Menhadien cities and base it was easier to produce and maintain war machines. The end of the big gun did little to easy the infantrymen, the question of "when are Dominion troops going to invade?" still echoed through the ranks. They where nervous, sitting through daily bombing was no easy task, but they also wanted to fight the Dominion. The war in Africa for the Menhadiens had been an air war, and the infantry was ready for their turn OOC: Since the map is outdated I was wondering which countries where Dominion States? |

OOC- Ziyer, East Ziyer, Zolony (now called South Ziyer), Sennar, Telosan (as a Dominion ally), Flumes (as an occupied Dominion republic), Madagascar (as an occupied Dominion protectorate), and Morrocon (as a Dominion ally, however CNNP is absent at the moment so nothing is coming of that for now) And you still have to worry about Objekt bombers, so don't assume you're in the clear. Besides, whatever the cannon hit would be utterly destroyed since the shells were basically MOABs. IC- To make up for the loss of the Zanzibar Gun's heavy salvos, Field Marshal Karelberg ordered Dominion bombers to redouble their efforts on Menhad and Sahndaq-Zeelar-Ulgania. Containment would be achieved, the Caronicillian would ensure. Edited by Kasnyia, Jan 26 2009, 09:09 PM.

Tibathian rubbed his eyes at the transmission sent by The Dominion. “Commander Dissith, did you hear that? They’re scared!” he said, almost jubilantly. It was the first smile he had cracked in a while. While he knew The Dominion would be completely able to act on its word, he was glad to see the reaction. He refocused his attention to the city of Sans Aquae. Dominion forces had indeed gone into the city swinging, but had not fully appreciated the full civilian population. The city’s infrastructure had been wrecked in mere hours, but a massive movement of several Ulgania divisions swept through the comparably weaker supply lines to the west of the city, and put it under siege. Air power had been temporarily concentrated there, giving the Ulganians a window of time to safely move into the city just as quickly as The Dominion forces. The abrupt change in tactics was not entirely unexpected, but showed weakness in The Dominion’s emphasis on civilian centers. Now, the forces entrapped in the razed city would be forced to change their tactics. Tibathian would be seeing that this campaign was akin to a swordsmen forced to change stances as a completely different form with a different weapon was used. A single hole would be left for the Dominion forces. They could move southward, but that was it. Several tall buildings in the city had been partially spared, only to allow Dominion columns to pass through. Ulganian rockets collapsed them into the paths of tanks, disallowing them to move. Long range artillery and helicopter strikes would be the focus for a time, but eventually boots on the ground would enter the city, eliminating what was left. Operations like this were occurring around the theater. The tactic would not work for long, but would provide a more definite line of defense. |

Field Marshal Karelberg wanted to break something. He would have rather Gassel kept quiet at times like this, but the "Supreme Chancellor" was exactly that within the Dominion's realm, and as such could not be brought to bear, even when making such faux pas.... Nevertheless, he quickly refocused back on the campaign. With the heavy bombardment, the cities were wrecks and the Dominion entered them with the intent to loot, raze, or capture, depending on the situation. The cities that had resources, and there were many, were looted and left be. Those too damaged would be razed to deny the enemy a population center, and those that were ill-defended but still viable would be seized as part of the Dominion's Africa realm. In the time they had started doing so, the streetfighting became brutal as enemy civillians started fighting Karelberg's men and the Ulganian military left obvious avenues of "escape". His men changed their tactics by taking the chance to fortify their positions in the ruined cities, daring the enemy to enter and attempt a counter. In order to trip up the enemy, he had his local commanders take the bait of the escape avenue in some settlements, including some that were otherwise useful to the Dominion. This confused the Ulganians as much as their tactics confused the Dominion, and soon strategy on the ground began to diverge wildly between each city, forcing the Ulganian overall plan into many smaller ones. Also, the Field Marshal, an avid supporter of Frieldhelm Veicht in the days prior to the Dominion, was not one to tolerate such disrespect for the military and as such showed those civillians who picked up weapons no quarter. To prove his point, he ordered all civillians captured in Ulganian territory to be executed after they were forced to dig their own graves, including women and children. He also ordered his men to keep no record of this. ----------------- "Orders, sir?" came Hermann Kahr's wheezing voice. As chief of intelligence, he had alot to do already, but dared not disobey an order from Gassel. "Kristophe Xavier built THREE of those guns, did he not?" Gassel replied. For days, he had been obsessing over the loss of the Zanzibar Gun, especially as that meant he had only the Tiger Gun in Espanora to use for ultra-long range bombardment. For years, he had heard of a third gun having been constructed in North America, but the location for it was unknown: the good Dr. Stuhmahn whom had built the weapons before being captured by Gassel had died years ago, partly from age, partly from remorse over his weapon being used extensively as it was by the Dominion, and partly from the torture sessions he'd been put through by Wilmar Reinhold's men to give Gassel knowledge of the weapons in the first place. "Yes sir, it is rumored to exist somewhere in upper North America," Kahr replied nonchalantly, his sallow face giving a cold stare. Gassel hated that stare. "I don't care if you have to take over the whole continent, Hermann. Find it." "At once, Your Excellency," -------------------------- Within thirty minutes (Kahr was famous for his punctuality), the security forces within the Dominion-controlled realm in North America began an extensive search for the weapon that would replace the Zanzibar Gun and once again wreak havoc upon their enemies..... |

With all of these new events occuring on all fronts of the war, the Metz army had reason to lose faith. However, even with the enemy doing everything they could to instill fear into the eyes and minds of Metz, it had quite the opposite effect. Although it may be fact that Metz would not stand a chance, the men within the nation all rallied together, as they would rather die than be ruled by another tyrant. "The age of Tyranny is over within Metz, and we shall not let it reign again. Let all those who stand agaisnt us tremble when they first clash with us. Let all those who die along side us be honored to do so. We shall fight for al we have, and all that was and is to be. Long Live the Kingdom of Metz! Long Live the King!" That was the speech given by General Nelson to his men, in an effort to re-establish a new fighting spirit and energy amongst the ranks within Metz. Their military was now almost at its fullest power, and was now a force to be reckoned with. General Nelson sent an urgent message to Ulgania, asking what their status was, and what they needed to do in case plans had changed due to the Zanzibar Gun. |

To Tibathian, it was clear there was a shift in the Dominion forces tactical routine. Though typically hard-fastened and able to tax the Ulganians to the limit in any battle, winning or losing, the style of rampage had started to become less focused. The urge for revenge had changed them somewhat, and attacks were beginning to become less organized. With that, they also became less predictable. The tactic to change the Dominion’s stance in some cities had stymied any hope of a fast victory for them, and now that a more established line of defense had been created, Ulganian forces could start pushing back against their enemy with regrouped strength. Air, artillery, and other now unused vehicles and equipment that had been otherwise in storage for a sustained attack on East Ziyer were being relocated. The factories that would have refurnished the Ulganian forces were now paying attention to a single, western front. The government had now officially opened a draft, absorbing more of the population into the greater fight. Factory workers were of course exempt, but many others were now entering training facilities. The tragic losses of East Ziyer left many without a source of income, and more without a relative. They would want their revenge, but would only be able to see to it through controlled means. It would take time for their training to be complete, but new recruits would be prepared soon. Among the millions serving on the western front were also a great majority of Spec Ops units, all of whom had withdrawn from the battlefield in East Ziyer. They were mainly being put to work overwhelming any supply chain, strong hold, smaller city under occupation, or any point not a massive priority to the advancing forces. Reinforced air squadrons were coming in to even out any battle too close to Ulganian positions. In the Red Sea, Ulganian forces had only been able to push as far as the Horn of Africa, but it allowed them greater opportunity to unload missile after missile at Dominion forces in Paradise, Sennar, and Menhad. Forces stationed in Sahndaq had yet to be fully mobilized. |

Karelberg would allow the Ulganians time to launch their land attacks...then they would learn never to underestimate the Dominion, even in a time of vengeance, especially when commanded by a Caronicillian. More forces were brought into Metz to keep the enemy from gaining any solid hold their, destroying any logistics they set up and giving no quarter anywhere. This had the added effect at allowing the Dominion to push closer to the Ulganian border, which was better fortified, but only just. In the north, the Dominion waited for their enemy to strike. In places where the enemy was not paying well enough attention, Dominion Army forces quickly steamrollered them and then disappeared into the surrounding area. If the enemy wished to fight, they would fight ghosts. ---------------------- The bombing campaign was no longer focusing on the cities, as the factory districts were now being hit directly. Any building standing in the area would be flattened, and done so as many times as needed before the Dominion advanced on the area. With every hit, Ulganian and Menhadien production capabilities reduced, and was already down 35% since the fighting began. ---------------------- In Sennar, the area was becoming secure as the front lines moved into Menhad itself and the northern coast fortified itself with help from the Indian Ocean fleet. ---------------------- Kahr's men had managed to find the general location of the cannon from the slight changes in background radiation in the North Western portion of Dominion Eleytheria. Soon they would find the exact location. Pity that meant going through each island one after another... |

Queen Illiana clutched her chest and felt weak after hearing the message from the Dominion on television. King Antonio stood tall with his lips pursed and eyes squinted. "The Dominion is like nothing we have ever fought before, are we ready?" she said. "If Metz is doing it, we can do it too. The point is not too win ourselves, but to aid our African brethren in achieving victory." Antonio said confidently. "With our expertise in ship building, we can build more ships for us and our allies, help repair theirs and aid them in battle with our ships and troops. We must help them." "Very well, prepare a fleet for departure and send them south. Gather volunteer shipbuilders to go with them." she said as she stared out the palace window. "For Africa." ____________________________________________ Admiral Castellano looked out the bridge of his Aries class destroyer. He brought with him five Sol class submarines, eight more Aries class destroyers, five Diamante class cruisers, and 10 Manta class frigates to interrupt the Dominion/Telosan blockade of Ulgania. On the bridge of the DNS Volition, the Vallahalla Mk. II battlecruiser that commanded the blockade of the Ulganian coast, radar was notcing the sizable force coming in. "Unidentified fleet inbound, Captain," the Sakhan radar operator relayed to his Moravian commander, Captain Makrina Samaev. She turned to the operator, "Find out who it is. Then inform them that if they do not turn back, they will be labeled combatants. Make sure they are warned." "Yes ma'am." ----------------------- In the Menhadien coastal blockade, the DNS Gregarious continued launching its payload of missiles against all installations, giving the enemy no chance for repairs on the coast and helping clear the way for the land offensive that aimed to cut off Menhad from the sea, thus securing the Indian Ocean in its entirety. ------------------------ OOC- Hey, Ibrium, where is your nation located? |

OOC- Okay, cool. Thats near Swiss-Roman Africa, which is my next target. IC- As the fighting intensified in the Northeast and Southeast of Africa, in the West, things had been reletively calm. That would come to an end by dawn. The State of Porcu and all her colonies had long been under Executive Order 101, and as such were, in the Dominion's eyes, already forfeit for the taking. And so while the world and Africa was focused in the east, Karelberg called in a favor from Marshal Favre of Army Group E in North America to construct an amphbious force and sail them to West Africa. There, they would launch an invasion on the small Porcuan colony of Swiss Roman Africa, long abandoned by the colonizing power and thus ripe for the taking. The invasion started at four in the morning, as the sun began to rise. By 6 o'clock, the beaches had been taken, and the Dominion was fighting against the weak colonial gendarmerie that protected it. The colony would be theirs by sundown and thus redubbed West Ziyer. |

The naval war had begun to look more interesting. With the Ulganians pushing out of the Red Sea, reinforcments of unknown origin had arrived in their rear. The Telosanti admiral worried much, and requested reinforcments of his own. With the arrival of these new fleets, another admiral, much more competent and intelligent had taken over. Admiral Arkari arrived on the Horn of Africa with new fleets, aboard his favorite ship and thus flagship of the African fleet now. The Glorificus was likely the most heavily armored, armed, stealthy, fastest, and most manuverable ship in the Telosan Navy. It's appearance with the final Telosanti reinforcments brought the ship count to 103 ships of all classes. Arkari, actually interested in tactics rather than brute force, ordered two thirds of the armada to press a continued, relentless attack on the Ulganian forces in the Red Sea. The other third proved an active rear-gaurd, striking offensivly at the newcomers to the fight, or when it seemed advantageous, defensively. Submarines zeroed in as well, acting as the commandoes of the seas. |

I will be back during the summer months... IC: Prime Minister Barack Obama watch as the world burned in seething flames. The Supreme World Order was upon us. It was time to act. The Serpentine Pact had long suspected that the Prime Minister's loyalties could no longer be trusted to remaining with SP policy. The Prime Minister was skilled at public manipulation and he quickly used his silver tongue to muster support more and more vocally towards the Dominion and its African policies.
Surprisingly, little resistance was offered by the Senate and even more shocking, it was learned that the Senate had even proposed such measures. It would be a matter of time before the executive orders regarding the Kerma Reserve System would have the desired effect. With a large contingent of banking that went on in Morrocon, the international credit market would surely feel a mighty blow. Posted Image |

OOC: Hey, anything helps. Hope you're not offended if I take a pretty extreme stance to your country, I liked being strong allies while it worked! IC: Mobilized security forces in Sahndaq, Zeelar, and Ulgania began to move and detain all Morrocon citizens. Those who did not side with the Dominion were released, and many of those who sympathized with the Dominion had already been detained and arrested before the war began. General Mateljan had been keeping a base of operations prepared for a conflict, and had started relocating many of the Red Sea forces to blast at the Morrocon ports, trying to eliminate any resistance possible before naval strikes could begin. While it took away from the brunt of the fleet holding the entrée to the Red Sea, a Valentine-Class Carrier-Destroyer remained to coordinate efforts and stop a breakout. Mateljan would keep with General Tibathian’s focus of defensive fighting. Mateljan himself wanted to keep the fighting to that focus. He knew that someday a reckoning would come, and the Dominion forces would be decimated. It would not come soon, but he knew that no army would ever be able to control the world, and he would rather die then see it succeed in Africa. “Put the forces on the Morrocon border on high alert. Invasion imminent, Black Ops teams already moving,” Mateljan had an aid take down as a command that would be sent out to the forces in Sahndaq. In Morrocon and Sennar, many of the groups that had been in the area before the war began started receiving new orders over their secure networks. (OOC: They’re secure enough so that you might know that there’s a communication going into Morrocon and Sennar, but it would take a few years to locate the source and to decipher it) They were ordered to remain under cover, but to move towards political and military personnel, and to terminate their commands with extreme prejudice. Ulganian intelligence had been able to penetrate Morrocon for some time, and with increasing ease. As things had been technically impossible more recently, the assets in place would have to do. However, Mateljan issued one final statement that would be broadcasted on all possible channels in Morrocon. “President Barrack Obama, momento mori." |

OOC- Actually, by now I'd rather those networks be considered long since eliminated. I let them exist in the RP with the unstated notion that it was an early-conflict advantage for you. It is no longer early conflict. IC- The Morroconian Army hit hard against the Ulganians, already spread thin defending their allies in Menhad, it took the enemy all they had to hold Morrocon from routing the Ulganians from their own lands entirely. With this increased stabilization of the ground campaign, Field Marshal Karelberg began reshuffling units to properly take advantage of their strength and numbers. Meanwhile, with added naval presence of the Morroconians, the south Red Sea was now in contention, and any enemy naval scouts that had enjoyed their limited range of freedome just north of Sennar were now eitjer cut off or destroyed utterly. Also, the Morroconian Navy was able to send a fleet southward to assist the Dominion Fleet against the Menhadien breakout, which was still contained, but at the cost of a great deal of Dominion ships that had yet to be reinforced by the port in Bombay. Their assistance was seen as a necessary lifeline that was warmly welcomed by Commodore Cartier. With the airspace of the region already under Dominion control, Morroconian fighters were immediately redirected to launching strikes against Riyadh in the middle east, along with defending their own skies which the Dominion had been doing until now. Bombing of enemy areas now increased tenfold where necessary, giving Ulganians and Menhadiens no chance of reconstruction or even aid to the injured at the target sites. The enemy would have to begin to pull back, or face annhilation. |

With Admiral Arkari new to this post, he was still gathering the reigns of command. However, experience allowed him a better chance than most, and he was ready to begin the first conflict of his position. He ordered 2 fleets to sail around the tip of Africa, arriving along the ravaged Morrocon coast. The fleets would give the Ulganian forces there something to consider, and, if they kept their numbers hidden well enough, cause them to hesitate for not knowing the extent of their enemy's strength. Though it would'nt last, it'd do for now. On the southern end of the Red Sea, Telosanti forces suddenly and explosively pushed forward. They fired at anything considered a target by the officers scattered about on the gun implacements. Towards the center of the fleets were missle boats, loaded to the brim with long range ship-to-ship missles. Each an arsenal on its own, they had the firepower to blow an entire fleet out of the water, though this was unlikely as misses occured somewhat frequently and anti-missile emplacements surely existed on the opposing ships. Nontheless, a barrage of missles was hard to dodge and casualties could be inflicted, casualties the Ulganian's likely could ill-afford. These gunboats fired at anything miles away, before they were even alerted to the Telosanti's presence. All the while, the fleets sailed full throttle through the sea. On the northern end of the Red Sea, Mediterranean based submarines converged at the opening of the Suez Canal. When the Telosanti forces pushed through, the subs would chew up the fleeing ships. Or so the orders went. Until then, they contented themselves with shooting up all ships heading in or out of the canal, reinforcements or not. OOC: The fleets in the Red Sea are basicaly charging through, smashing you up as much they can. As soon as they hit the end... well I don't know, I'll figure it out. They aren't travelling as a giant armada. They are in their usual fleet divisions with a few miles between, the fleets alltogether would look like an elongated diamond shape from the air, one of the longer points in the direction they're going. |

OOC- Considering that the majority of the defenders converged south to help the Menhadien breakout, and the addition of Morroconian naval forces, I'd say thats a fair plan, as the Red Sea is now in very real danger of falling, at least right now. IC- With Dominion forces in this sector tied up with fighting off the remnants of the Menhadien and Caliphate fleets, no help from the water could or would be given to their allies. However, the air was a different matter, as Dominion fighter jets did what they could to help their allies, even as most were tied up in launching air attacks against the Menhadiens. |

OOC: No one's posted here for a bit, and there's been no response from Ulgania yet. I figured I'll post something to keep it in everyone's attention. Also have nothing better to do right now. And, Kas, I used the Dominion air force a bit, hope you don't mind. Didn't have them do much though. IC: Six Days Later. Phone conversation between Emperor Trekon and Admiral Arkari. "Though there's been casualties, I have every expectation of reaching the canal, Trekon." "You'd better. You have a good portion of Telosan's naval strength at your disposal. A failure could cripple the entire navy, Arkari." "Yes, yes, I know this. The submarines have almost completely demolished any chance of Ulganian naval reinforcement by way of the canal. Dominion forces remain in strength at the mouth of the sea so they can't enter from there." "Alright, so say you have superior forces. What will you do when you reach the canal?" "Well, two options. One, we attempt an amphibious landing and capture it. Two... well we could always just blow it to hell and back. Now if you'll excuse me, my leutienent just informed me that we're approaching the canal." --------------------------------- As Telosanti forces had pushed farther and farther north through the sea, many Ulganian forces had retreated back, putting up constant resistance rather than folding off to the flanks of the force as had been planned. Thus, like a snowball rolling downhill, the Ulganian defenses grew stronger and stronger with each couple miles of the sea. Coming up against the canal would pen them in with no escape, resulting in a massive battle of two large navies slugging it out. One side fighting in a last stand, and the other fighting for the objective they were so close to reaching. Several dozen submarines had trickled through the canal, in hopes of better targets than they were receiving in the Mediterranean. Their presence unknown as yet, they would quickly be discovered when the Ulganian navy was pressed closer to the canal. Working in coordination with these subs, the Telosanti strike force contacted the Dominion air force that had aided them so well this far. ---------------------------- On the Seventh Day. The exhausted Telosanti naval men had worked for a full week to get this far. Unfortunatly, there would still be no rest until the mission was finished. They could take comfort in knowing their Ulganian counterparts were just as tired, if not more, as they were. Rising early, at 5 o'clock, the Telosanti strike force lurched forward, sailing diagonally to the Ulganian force and then tacking to the other diagonal. They fired all guns from the farthest effective range, no rear gaurd, no reserve force, all out offensive. At 5 o'clock sharp, the submarine officers heard the pounding of heavy guns on the surface. They roused their crews and propelled forward, choosing targets and emptying torpedo tubes on them. Hopefully, they Ulganian's would think them to be hit by the Telosanti surface fleet, as they should be sufficiently distracted by them. Unfortunatly, there would be no way off knowing if they were right until either they continued breathing the stale air off their sub, or suddenly started gulping water many meters underwater. Dominion air forces joined the fray around 5:30, having had to fly from their base to get there. Under the cover of the surface fleet's advance guns, they made bombing runs on the most heavily armed Ulganian ships. Though they'd be more wary than the frenzied Telosanti's as they were needed elsewhere and to be there they had to survive here. From the bridge of his favored ship, the Glorificus, Admiral Arkari witnessed first-hand his attack brought out to life. Between orders and the running feet of messengers, a leutienent overheard Arkari's musings. "... On the 7th day of creation God rested. No rest here, not on our 7th day..." |

Tibathian and his higher aids were retooling the current battle plans. For some time now, a stalemate had been keeping either side at bay, but while full deployments were being ordered, he knew some shift would be needed, and needed before Ulgania-Proper ran out of resources. The arms build up would last out for some time, but the current army had been hit extremely hard in East Ziyer. We have what it takes to outfit more soldiers. Supplies are aplenty for now. The thought crossed Tibathian’s mind, but the status of the Ulganian forces was that it was still a voluntary force. A quick, and urgent plea was sent to Serpentine once again to instate the draft. Tibathian had a feeling it would be rejected again, but one could always hope. Until then he was forced to play the delicate game of balance for a longer time. At least the skies aren’t as shaky OOC: I’ll post again Monday or Tuesday. |

“The military of Ulgania, as strong and reliable as it has stood in the global war against The World Military Dominion has been seeing the signs of ware a total war can bring to any limited force. Our reserves run thin, our supply lines taxed, and our national industries on the verge of collapse. “These reasons have called me to bring relatively large scale shifts in the patterns of thinking the Chancellery has had in the war effort. The tragic events in East Ziyer showed us all how vulnerable any army is to cataclysm. While The Dominion suffered a tactical loss, the human toll on Ulganians will be remembered for centuries. Those who have been lost demand honor and retribution. We give pause to them, and recognize their efforts. We give praise to them, and love them for their sacrifice. “Now, however, we find a new time before us. While the Battle of East Ziyer has concluded, the flares that go off around Africa continue. For, as we speak Ulganians on the Red Sea face life and death situations continually. Our former allies, the Morrocons have betrayed us. The armies that look to wreak havoc on Paradise move through its periphery, threatening our forces and reinforcing themselves as they move. Telosanti fleets give our own fleets pause. “All of these challenges are not insurmountable, however in the changes needed, an official compulsory draft will begin. The military maintains that recruitments are as high as they have ever been, but it is not enough. My friends, my countrymen, Ulganians, Sahndaqis, and Zeelaris, lend me your hearts, your minds, and your muscle. The Federation is at war, and the cataclysm of Africa has arrived. We will remove these obstacles to peace! We will bring a reckoning to the world!” -Speech from Tres Valentine to the people of the Federation. Aside from this speech, the government had announced many other changes. Many domestic industries were beginning to be converted for the war effort, and for the first time in Ulganian history a compulsory war rationing system had started. There were many other changes made by the government to increase the defensive posturing. The half million soldiers lost in East Ziyer alone would be recounted for soon, and the several hundred thousand new recruits ready to move to the front lines were being deployed. The holes in Ulganias armor were being mended. The hair-line fractures in the Dominion’s armor were going to be exploited, but time would tell how long it would take. On the Metz border, where fighting had steadily increased since its army had been able to modernize, several armored Ulganian divisions had started to smash through a staggered Dominion advance. The Dominion’s combat troops moving towards the border were being sent to shore up several foothills that had come into contention were quickly ripped apart by the massive armored columns. The divisions spent several days ripping through the contended area, being able to move with relative ease as no forward command had been established to counter them. When the tanks were finally in need of a secure supply route they returned to the Ulganian Line of Control, not before forcing the Dominion’s Metz deployments to shift farther away from the Ulganian LoC. While The Dominion began to move its clearer LoC, a more solidified movement was allowed to occur to shore up the southwestern front. Attacks such as these were very common on both sides. It was very clear that both sides were avoiding heavier escalations that could move out of the control of their command centers. |
