Siad, if you notice, I had also described as the gun platform being designed for more advanced and larger weaponry. However, just because the ship is already designed doesn't mean the guns themselves are just yet for the ship in question.

NH, thanks.

Patents 2 to 7 are hled by me, not Kas.

Patent 14 should rightfullly be Telosan's, not Kasnyia's.

Corrected.

In the future, include not only the name of what you want patented, but also either a description, or a Wiki link. Thank you.

OOC:

Well, I did further looking.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steam_turbine

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbinia

Seems England built a turbine ship in 1894. They'd be well on their way to the Dreadnought.

But then again, the Irish being an even more dominant naval power in this world... someone might just take that technology. Especially being spurred on by battleship development by other countries... :gnarkgnark:

We might should split the good amount of OOC talk in here, though I will say most talk is in OOC style it seems.

Before all OCC talk is quashed, I have a question about our patent system in general:

E has this yellow submarine thread going, and I have the patent for the only historical sub design of the time period. It's basically the prototype from which all other submarine designs were derived. Does this mean he's infringing on my patent?

For the sake of the RP I don't care, in fact I'm enjoying it, but doesn't that sort of kill this whole patent system?

Submarines have existed since before the Civil War, some designs much better than others. Your patent is for a specific design and type of Sub so E may, or may not be infringing on your Patent. Considering the commander of the sub in question is a pirate, it is more than likely it is a stolen sub, so your real beef should be with whoever he stole it from! :-)

You might want to quiz him on that subject, but I doubt you are going to get a drug-using terrorist pirate into patent court!

England and Ireland can rival in multiple aspects. Empires, military, navy, technology, etc. Maybe you and I could both claim a patent on it, say they actually worked together on it. Not everyone in our countries must dislike the other.

Also, as I've mentioned previously in this thread, patents are an arbitrary and monopolistic infringement on the free market, and thus are utterly ignored in Thule.

Alexanderhaven is also a very well established power, so both of you better keep on your toes.

Okay, I have a question. I just got an airplane industry in the NS2 game. I hadn't even known this industry could pop up, but there it is. If anyone got this before me please tell me. Otherwise, I think I will put a claim to the patent on the first airplanes.

I know I must submit the proper patent form, but I just want to make sure no one got airplanes before me.

Thanks NH. I suppose that means I can attempt to improve upon or copycat the design.

Oh, try a single-wing! Don't have that yet. Or - a tri-wing!

Yes, a tri-wing! That'd be perfect since there isn't exactly a big German Empire to keep the Brits in check. Thanks NH! I'll get right to drafting such a design.

I had an airplane industry from the start, which is why I thought of patenting it. It was the main thing I lost when the industries started disappearing.

Also didn't think of the multiple wings. I assume the 1 I've patented so far is a biplane, but as the Irish develop on my invention, I'd like to stay ahead of the game. I've got the single-wing if Siad's got the tri-wing, or the other way around.
