GENERAL ELECTION SCHEDULED, NEWLY FORMED PARTY ENJOYS COMMANDING LEAD Posted Image Posted Image Albium Arausium - A message from the President's Office noted the increasing divide that exists between provinces under direct control of the Republican government and those under control of the People's Revolutionary Front (PRF), with general elections scheduled in order to heal those divides and re-incorporate those territories politically. From the beautiful shores of eastern Australia Lucius Aurelius Fulvius (pictured left) and armed anarchists, socialists, and communists comprising the PRF were able to defeat the fascist militias operating in the capital of Albium Arausium and the surrounding countryside. The success of the PRF in Australia, along with Aurelius Fulvius' call to arms and revolution, spurred the seemingly spontaneous growth of PRF militias in other provinces. From Polinesium to Montarorium to Viroconium, the PRF joined local police, gendarme, and military units loyal to the Republican government and played a critical role in suppressing fascist outbreaks. Once successful, the PRF then began to push for political action, eventually carrying through a series of political, social, and economic changes that threatened to rupture the Republic. The message from the President's Office read in part: «The Civil War remains in full swing and a coordinated effort is required for the Republic to overcome fascism...To that end, a general election is scheduled that will allow the people to chart the future course for the Republic.» With Parliament under fascist occupation in Ariminae, a new Assembly will be created. Most traditional parties will participate in the upcoming election, and a newcomer has already grabbed a commanding lead. The People's Revolutionary Socialist Party - the political arm of the PRF - currently sits at 34%, with the Communist Party trailing at 20% and the Socialist Party not far behind at 18%. A collection of centrist and centre-right parties, including the Liberal and Democratic Reformist Bloc, round out the list. It is still undecided whether the election will include a presidential election. Edited by Porcu, Mar 17 2018, 12:15 AM.

L. AURELIUS FULVIUS' PARTY DOMINATES VOTE, COMMUNIST PARTY SECOND WITH CENTRE AND RIGHT DISINTEGRATING Posted Image Lisbon, Iberia Occidentalis - The votes have been cast and the clear victors are the far-left People's Revolutionary Socialist Party led by political novice Lucius Aurelius Fulvius. "Our victory in the polls was never in doubt because of the tireless effort of the people to grab at the opportunity to make a dramatic change and, for once, truly determine their future!" party leader Aurelius Fulvius said to rapturous applause in an open square in Lisbon, the seat of the Republican government in exile. Despite the difficulties of obtaining votes in the course of a civil war, many millions of Porcuians were still able to cast their votes and have their voices heard. The People's Revolutionary Socialist Party solidly carried the vote total with nearly 58%, while the Communist Party followed second with 22%. The Socialist Party of President Servius Aemilius Cesca came in third with a dismal 12%. The remaining totals include all votes from the centre, centre-right, and right. The election determined the composition of a new National Assembly, whose first task it will be to bridge the divisions that exist between the legitimate government of the Republic in Lisbon and the increasingly independent territories under de facto management by councils largely composed of People's Revolutionary Front members. The present results do not change the executive of the Republic; however, it remains to be seen how forcefully this new legislature will exert itself. |
