Have any of you played Europa Universalis: Rome? Either vanilla or with the newer Vae Victis expansion? I'd like to know if anyone has any thoughts on the game, since I like that time period and would like to see Paradox's take on it.

Well ok, it was only $25 for the game and expansion so I bought 'em and will try them out. It looks like a version of EU in ancient times, which I love, so it should be interesting. |

My fav Paradox game remains EU1. Playing it for the first time was nothing less than a mind-altering experience. |

EU2 > EU1 > EU3 (that doesn't mean EU3 is bad). |

Oh no doubt EU2 is superior to EU1 from a technical standpoint. But EU1 changed everything, it was like the New World of computer games. |

I have not played EU1. I've played a small amount of EU2 and a substantial amount of EU3. But I just brought home a great looking sandwich, so I'm going to think about that now. |

The main differences I can think of: - Event system; - Domestic policies; - Bigger world map; - Earlier start date; - Missionaries (IIRC, EU1 didn't have tem). |

I don't like Rome. Few nations not good relations between them and poor stuff. I hope they made something better in the future I'm expection Crusader King II° for example |
