Not too late at all. EDIT: For starters, I don't count, you'll see why. And the last game worked out fine with a weird number, so we should be fine. Gonna leave registration up at least til tomorrow to make sure everyone who wants to play can. And can anyone tell AA that we're starting? I'd hate for him to miss a day or two. You can assume I'm in every game. This is fun, the more you have the more interesting it gets. You have to figure out how the rules apply in the larger game without the narrator telling you. Kinda adds an unofficial role as the more intelligent people ( ^^ ) figure out the more difficult situations. |

I want to see as many people as possible to increase the chance that our game will have more fun roles for us  A cool looking variant I saw on wikipedia involves the possibility of there being more than one mafia family working independently (so they are not aligned together). "Multiple families - (or a Mafia group and a Werewolf group) act and win independently, giving faster gameplay and the potential for "cross-fire" between the factions." That sounds cool. Maybe we could add more than one townie family? That'd need alot more people, but it'd be fun. |

If we get a 20 person game, I may throw a Cult in, which is kinda like another mafia family. It starts off with one person, and each night they choose someone toadd to their ranks. If that person has a different role, they die, but if they're a vanilla townie, they become part of the cult. The Cult wins when all surviving players are members of the cult. Game will start sometime tomorrow, I want to give late entries a chance to get in. |

Kills a player with another role? Maybe we should ignore that rule. Having the cult gain control of players with roles would be a bit interesting. Keeps you constantly guessing. |

It's confusing enough with the roles we do have, I don't think we need more. |

So when are we going to start this? I doubt we can get more than 20 active members. |

Hey Raf, I had a thought; what do you think of making this an "IC" game where we have to RP in accordance with the theme you depicted at the beginning of this thread? I.e., we'd all have to RP the theme instead of posting in a more "OOC" style.

That'd be pretty cool. Hell, it could be a NSWR themed Mafia, maybe in...Cyprus? |

Well if we have to rp it, then I would play myself. The dumb sounding southern, who is outta place but is really quite aware of what is going on... |

If it was going to be IC, you'd have to RP as your role, which might be a bit of a giveaway. Role PMs going out now. |

Not necessarily. Virtually every role has good incentive to look like a vanilla townie, and thus will RP accordingly. If some people don't want to RP IC, then they won't be compelled too. I, however, fully intend to roleplay this Mafia game. |

If the cop role-plays as a cop, I assure you he will be killed the first. Same applies for the vigilante or the doctor. |

Only if they're stupid. Everyone knows the situation. They have just as much incentive to keep their identity secret as in any other mafia game. EDIT: Stop thinking of all the ways this might not work and instead put yourself into the shoes of any role, and think of how you would play the game in order to survive and win, (which is what pretty much everyone will be doing regardless.) If the cop decides to go flashing his badge around the first night, yeah, it's true that he'll probably be killed soon thereafter. But he's not required to do that. He could just as easily attempt to look like a civilian, and if he's smart, he probably will. That, or lie low until he has compiled sufficient evidence. Nothing says he has to act like a cop, just because he is as a cop, (or is role-playing one.) Edited by East Anarx, Nov 22 2008, 08:57 PM.
