I kinda want to do one for my European nation, orienting the way of life a little like Devin Wire's country Emangu. The country would probably end up becoming more self sufficient/isolationist though. I'd like to get more into European affairs, especially in the Iberian peninsula but it's still a steampunk style of living which could be a political turn off for a lot of nations IC. Worth pursuing? I have a bunch of ideas that I could put to good use (and no, I wouldn't use ray guns like most steampunk stories do haha)

I'm not sure how much you would be able to interact with other nations if the setting is very different, but this RP is pretty flexible, so I'm sure it could be worked out to fit well. Also, I recall there was some talk of steampunk in the NS2 thread. Does anyone know if a decision was made on that?

I think it could be done, especially in Europe and I don't think isolation would completely hurt your nation besides there will always been a need to raw materials your nation simply does not have so I don't think it's possible to be completely isolationist, well unless your the Amish.

ET2(IDW) Posts: 2,681 Group: Veterans Member #143 Joined: May 22, 2005	If our NS2 rp was steampunk, I wouldn't play. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool idea, but it's to extreme. For people unfamiliar with it, like myself, it would drive them away. We all like different eras in history, personally I love the Medieval ages, but we all should pick an era we all know and understand, like present day, or perhaps a near-future setting. Every one could fit in, and if you kinda want to wander down your own path, like having Lincolns with Gatling guns on their arms, or if you want to have super-knights that still charge into battle on horseback then you can. I say for the NS2 rp we should have a near-future setting, allowing people to make their ideas, that arn't too crazy, and still fit in. Our current system has lasted thus far based on that idea, why change it if it isn't broken

I only plan on doing this RP in this forum in Europe though.
