Ah, interesting. Would you tell us if such roles existed in our game, or is anything fair game, so to speak?

Please don't tell us. It's more fun if we don't know.

You won't tell us if there's any masons, but what about a cult? Did we decide not to do that?

Cults don't work well in games smaller than 20 people, but there's always a chance.

Also, there's the first no lynch. Enjoy it, scum.

Okay Raf, I made your argument, in game, that a no lynch benefits the mafia. Clearly I didn't make it very well, because I ended up being convinced of the alternate argument that we are likely to kill an innocent the first round, so we would most likely help the mafia. So here is the thing: you clearly think that counter-argument is wrong, but I don't understand why it is wrong (which is why I switched my vote).

If you don't want to answer that while the game is going on, that's understandable.

Also, I just realized that maybe I'm not supposed to be in this thread since I'm alive :shy:

If everyone votes no lynch, the day ends immediately, discussion stops, and no mafiates die. Sure, there's a chance that the cop will turn up a scumbag, but the chances that he'll be able to turn it into a lynch are quite slim. Pushing hard for a lynch on day 2, with little or no reason, is going to be scummier than usual. A roleclaim is just stupid, as it either puts him straight in the line of fire (He can hope that the Doc can protect him, but odds are that the mafia will get the Doc before the Cop can find all the scum.), or will lead to him getting lynched for a seemingly false roleclaim.

Admittedly, the dynamics here may be different from the games I usually play.

EDIT: To restate this more clearly: Without being able to see people directly, discussion and voting is the only way the average townie can root out the scum. Anything that shortens discussion without killing a supposed mafiate is inherently bad for the town.

OOC:

Anything that shortens the discussion (like 9 consecutive "No One" votes) helps the mafia. However, a protracted lynch vote does not necessarily result in a lynching because people can tactically withdraw their votes toward the end of the day. Thus, evidence on voting patterns can be gathered without lynching a townie. However in our case we ended the day *way* too quickly.

I agree, but I'm not supposed to be writing here.

Sorry I wasn't here to tally the votes, but the day ended with Allesandra's post. I hope that the page and a half of discussion was worth the mafia getting an unretributed kill.

If the day ended so early, what about all the posts that were made after? Are they considered unsaid, or carried over to the next day?

I believe it just means that the votes don't exist. Though I did find your post ironic considering your actions that got you lynched in the last game.

I had thought the last game doesn't count towards anything in this game. RPing makes everything different, too.

I'm just saying it is ironic. Yes the last games actions do not count towards this game, BUT I can consider the irony of you telling someone off for vote flipping.
