With the dictators' forces on the move, ONS forces quickly made countermovements to prepare for their strikes. At the first violation of ONS airspace, over land and sea, EMP bursts were to be unleashed to knock hostile air out of the sky. Airports in Ulster were ordered grounded, and other means of transportation were highly encouraged.

The submarine wolfpacks readied their positions about the hostile fleets, with destroyer patrols ensuring no hostile submarines came to interfere with these movements. Ten Dreadnoughts took up a position blockading passage through the straight between the Irish Sea and the Atlantic Ocean (between Ireland and Scotland) with two aircraft carriers close behind, launching air patrols of the area. This would effectively bottle up the enemy fleet in the Irish Sea, making them near helpless to attack from the submarines lest they turn back.

On land, the defenses were prepared, consisting of sandbags, makeshift bunkers, and several artillery positions. These were far less complicated to set up than that of the previous ONS war in Syria due to the amount of land to defend and the simplicity of the defenses. Even if they were outnumbered, the Order's superior position, equipment, training, and experience would give them a clear advantage. The Order Riflemen took up their positions along the defensive line, while knights mounted up and hid in tactical positions to be ready to ambush and surprise the enemies. Order Sergeants took up combat support roles in both cases. Air patrolled the projected no man's land area.

In the meantime, Liam Desmond called for the support of other nations. In a public broadcast, he stated:

"Good nations of the world, the Isle of Eire is in a crisis. I call upon the support of willing nations to help the legitimate government of Riocht Eire against the threats of the southern dictators. Their actions have no place in the 21st century. We ask that no trade sanctions be placed on Munster and Leinster, for this is still the land of the Irish people. However, we do ask that weapons shipments be halted to these provinces, and aid shipments increased to Ulster and Connacht to better resist the movements of these dictators. Thank you. I will now yield the podium to the Ard Rí."

There was a great applause. When it was finished, Stiofan picked up where Liam left off:

"Thank you, Taoiseach Desmond. I assure everyone that any attack by the dictator forces will not succeed. Our position is strong, and our veteran forces are unbreakable. However, while we can easily defeat assault of the hostile forces, we lack the manpower to counterattack. Even with reinforcements from Syria, it still will not likely be enough. Thus, I readily ask for the help of our Celtic brethren in Wales. I would ask the same of the Menhadian Scots, but I wish to put no further obligation on an empire locked in war with the Dominion." He paused as a messenger handed him a telegram. "I am afraid I cannot stay to speak any longer, for my troops require my presence on the front line. So I say at the last to the good people of Ireland, by God's will, you will be united and free!"

With that there was a thunderous cheer from the crowd, but though Stiofan wished to stay to shake the hands and kiss the babies of his people, he had to get to front lines quickly. The enemy assault was projected to start soon.

OOC: The people in the war are set and fixed. This involves myself, Denonz, Dezmonz, Telosan, and HCI. Anyone wishing to state matters of trade and politics is free to do so. I'm also open to the idea of someone RPing the role of the Irish Republican Army (IRA), as well as separate RPs involving individuals in the war.

Anthony Dezmonz was outraged at his friend, Denonz's, actions without consulting him. He didn't want to be caught in the middle of a war without a heads up. His anger quickly turned to surprise as he saw the sudden action of Denonz's military, and to worry at the swift response they recieved from the ONS.

He couldn't just let his friend rush headlong into this. After reading the reports, he ordered his military to copy Denonz's movements, providing reinforcments to the thin line, and barricades, earthworks, and bunkers to be placed along the northern border. He called for a meeting with Denonz and prepared a speech for the people.

Dezmonz spoke to the people, describing his course of action, explaining. He said that they could have a victory and Ireland could be united under his rule. That their fellow countrymen would see reason and relent, join the countries of Denonz and Dezmonz.

At this the crowd cheered, all their hearts and emotions pouring out into one large wave of noise. Dezmonz was pleased.

Dezmonz and Denonz signed an allegience, forging thier countries into one. Deznon would be the new country, run by the consuls John Denonz and Anthony Dezmonz. Once this was settled, the fight could begin.

Deznon bombers flew over the border and bombed gaurd stations, closely followed by waves of troops. The troopers quickly secured a spot, but were hit by counterattacks much faster than expected. Fighters came in to cover the air, and trucks pulled up gun emplacments.

The naval forces came around and bombarded the northern coast. Anything and everything was a target. Soon though, submarines began appearing, streaming in like sharks who smelled blood. Depth charges were dropped, guns fired at large shapes underwater. The fleet fell back, then came in again. Dozens of hit and runs in the same general area all the while being pursued by submarines, though they did score some hits.

---------------------------------

Meanwhile, Dezmonz and Denonz knew they wouldn't last. They opened friendly diplomatic relations with another seafaring nation, one that helped wherever possible. The Deznonian leaders met with Emperor Trekon, and discussion commenced. They talked over many issues, and eventually Trekon threw in his lot. Busy with another war in Asia, he couldn't put everything in, but would try.

Telosan's favorite tactic appears in every fight, and was most effective against those who've never faced them before. Telosanti instructors began training Deznonian snipers. Fleets of submarines arrived, securing a perimeter around Deznon's two capitals for reinforcments.

The initial push by Deznonic forces broke through the lines due to their mass, but also due to the plan to let them through. ONS field artillery quickly provided counterfire against the enemies, while ONS fighters pursued bombers preventing from going further in and grappling with enemy fighters in combat. The EMP order would only be issued in the event that bombers came too close to a city.

As soon the enemy had advanced far enough, the knights executed their ambushes, slicing through the unsuspecting enemy. Stiofan charged in with his knights, but soon rode ahead of his forces. Many enemies turned their attention to him and firing on that which they deemed a greater threat. This was to no avail, as the Mk III suit could take such blows all day. Stiofan, on the other hand, wielded only Sanatio, felling men as he passed them by. The enemies began to rout at this last straw, for the sight of something seemingly invincible was a terror to behold.

Few ONS forces died in this first day of the conflict. Some men were overwhelmed, some took hits from excessive force, and very few died do to compromises in the weakspots of their armor. The new Mk II armor had proven itself this first battle, but this was but an unwilling rabble they faced. ONS Intelligence reported unknown reinforcements to the enemy had come, odd news indeed.

-----

Forward ONS HQ, Cavan

However, news of civilian casualties in the north made celebration of the victory short lived, with the death toll in the thousands due to enemy bombardment. Submarines sank or damaged some of the enemy ships responsible, though many took severe damage in doing so. The enemy dictators could and would continue to do such attacks, and it was unknown what the forces of this new enemy would do.

Stiofan was the only ONS general currently in Ireland, his son being tied up with issues in Europe. No reinforcements were on the way from allies, and all other ONS forces were in Syria. The enemy far outnumbered his troops, spread thin defending Uslter, and they could thus outmaneuver him. Yet the only way he could beat the enemy was to attack. Unfortunately, covert forces no longer existed in the ONS with the disclusion of the Inane, thus any attack would have to be done so in a blitzkrieg style, which would be harder to pull off with cavalry. Whatever the case, all decisions above the brigade level lied with him.

His only advantage was the quality of his troops, which had become legendary at this point for being rather unkillable, though in truth they were simply well trained, armed, and armored.

Stiofan, Stiofan... why do you always get yourself into impossible situations, he thought to himself.

Half the dreadnoughts would have to be withdrawn to bolster protection of the northern coasts, since threat to Inishowen was imminent. The other Dreadnoughts would assault forward in the Irish Sea, with support from destroyers, submarines, and fighter craft. Their goal would be to secure the entrance of the Celtic Sea into the Irish Sea, which would also secure bombardment positions along the enemy coast, and possible landing areas.

For now, he would have to mostly maintain the positions of his land forces and wait for the fleets to gain his advantages. However, fifteen thousand men would be shifted to Meath to ready for the push to Dublin.

After issuing orders, he returned to the frontlines to ready for another enemy assault.

The Deznon attack had not succeeded. It wasn't expected to succeed, and had done better than they thought it would. They couldn't much more than continue to put pressure on the ONS forces. The aircraft quickly discovered the EMP traps and retreated after the losses of incompetent fools who attempted to continue on regardless.

The navy spread out, they harrassed the coastlines wherever they could. Shelling from a distance, fighting off subs, and trying again the next day.

-----------------------------------------

Telosan, being experienced with deception and spying, went about their buisness in utmost secrecy. It was how they had managed to keep the ONS from realizing who the Deznon's had recruited for help. Orders were given in person in safe, soundproof, and scanned rooms.

Reports had detailed armor type making the wearer seemingly invincible. Everything had a weakness, so scouts were sent up to the border to study and experiment on these armor peices. Since they had no copy themselves, they could only observe the results of thier shots on the armor. Every time a weak point was found it was reported. Finally enough weak points were discovered and deemed suffient.

A large Telosanti sniper brigade under command of the now famous marksmam, Jarn, prepared for a new fight. Thier pressence would not be known until much later.

The navy also prepared to make thier move.
-----------------------------------------------

Frontlines

At 5 in the morning, a large Deznon force smashed through the ONS lines again, to great loss. They had gone in with caravan, presumably carrying more troops. After making it through, they fled. However, they fled north, into Riocht Eire. Just a mile behind the lines was a large gathering of trees. After a bit of heavy fire from the ONS troops, they retreated back to Deznon. They left thier caravans smoldering on the ground, littered about the forest.

They broke in complete panic, not even firing back.
------------------------------------------------

Waters around Eire

Since the Espanoran war, Telosan's subs had been kept top of the line. now, they would see if their funding was worth it. The wolfpacks prowled 3 miles off the coast in groups of 8. Thier advanced and long range sonar allowed them to stay out of sight of enemy ships and subs. They waited to attack.

After taking off his armor, Stiofan went about cleaning and shining Sanatio after the last battle while at his desk.

"Your progress reports, Grandmaster." The knight brother assigned to delivering reports to him from the field commanders handed him a stack of papers, each being detailed accounts of the day.

"Stay here, brother. What is your name?"

"Knight Brother Patrick O'Dwyer, milord."

Stiofan reviewed the reports, skimming the summaries at the top for most of them, while reading the important ones in detail. He spoke while still fixated on the reports. "Patrick, I need someone to give me second opinions on things. I have no second in commands, I don't even have any advisors. So, let us talk on the current situation."

"Yes, milord." Patrick spoke with surprise in his voice.

"Part of the way to victory lies with our navy's ability to keep the Irish Sea clear of enemies, and to keep the northern shores safe. The dreadnoughts have pushed back the enemy fleets at this point, cutting off passage to the Irish Sea. It seems this objective is completed, nay?"

"Yes, milord."

"Well, not quite. See, here in lies the problem. We don't completely know what we're up against."

"Isn't it just a rabble?"

"No. They have reinforcements, and their forces could be anywhere. They've come in covertly, and since we don't have a strong intelligence branch like in the old days, we don't a thing about them."

"What are we going to do, milord."

"Well, what do you think we should do, Patrick?"

"I'm not sure. I suppose I would take the fight to the enemy, find more out about them."

"Good! Because that's precisely what I'm going to do!"

"Really... milord?"

"Yes, why do you think I was talking about the navy?"

"Oh... the shoreline is secure!"

"Precisely. And we have 15,000 men ready to depart for Dublin, and thousands more could get there by land in the course of a day. We're going to use some good old blitzkrieg."

"But won't that leave the defensive lines weakened?"

"Yes. In fact, we'll be almost completely defenseless to our southern border. But as they say, he who defends everything, defends nothing."

"But they could strike at the cities!"

"Which will be defended with appropriate force..."

-----

Stiofan's orders were distributed. At sunset, the southern frontlines unleashed artillery barrages on enemy positions, before being attached to half-tracks for being towed. The southern frontline swept forward towards Dublin, 45,000 strong. The 15,000 men long before sent east were already departing on transports to quickly move to the shores near Dublin. Fighter craft scouted overhead to provide intel to the commanders as they moved.

By midnight, fighting through much resistance, all forces had reached Dublin, beginning to set up artillery and lines of assault. The siege of Dublin had begun.

While this had been happening, naval forces encountered and skirmished with unknown but hostile submarines attempting to entire the Irish Sea. ONS submarines dueled with their enemy counterparts fiercely, while destroyers hunted the enemy submarines, ensuring they were in communication with submarine commanders so as to not damage their own forces. Five dreadnoughts held the southern entrance, while shelling military targets on the shore with their main guns.

Jarn smiled, his plan had worked. His snipers had hidden in the caravans the Deznon's were taking with them. After disembarking, they set them on fire and dug out the underneath of many trees, making several dozen large underground huts. Within these huts, his men totaled about 15,000, spread across the forest. Thier pressence unknown, they would surprise the enemy at the best chance they could. His, smile quickly faded. Come morning they discovered the bulk of the ONS forces had left, invading Deznon. Scouts reported that they had left behind a force roughly equal to his.

His current position no longer an achievment, his resolved to move north, through the forest.

------------------------------

Off the coast

A wolfpack had been discovered. That was not good for the plan, but it didn't reveal the location of the other wolfpacks, or the nationality. So, they fought back.

The other wolfpacks remained hidden, silent. They had not received the signal.

-------------------------------

Dublin

45,000 men waited outside Dublin. 45,000 men intent on burning the city down. Inside the city, 50,000 huddled in fear but determined not to let the city fall. They scouted out the largest concentrations of artillery.

That night, unmarked Telosanti stealth bombers dropped their load on these concentrations. Several hit their mark, others missed. The bombers returned to a base several dozen miles away.

By 2:00 AM, the 15,000 men of the advance guard were already securing northern sectors of the city and shorelines to bring supplies in. 15,000 men of the frontline forces stayed back to hold the artillery positions around the city, while the other 30,000 moved in to secure western sectors.

ONS artillery bombarded places of obvious resistance, and shelled new coordinates as spotters reported them. Several positions were hit by enemy bombing, but the positions were numerous enough for losses to not be severe. As forces advanced further in, the city center was showing more resistance. Spotters were sure not to report positions where cultural relics could be damaged by shelling, instead engaging enemies in those areas the hard way.

Though this would be a hard city to take, it was wise for the ONS to make a play for it early, for further fortification of the city could have made it impossible to take later on. Stiofan had plans for the city, but for right now the objective was to capture it and search it for any of the enemy leaders.

Outskirts of the city Newry

Jarn's Telosanti snipers had found a target. The city of Newry with about 40,000 citizens. If this attack didn't cause major turmoil, nothing else would. Then again, he had to hurry as the submarines he posted on the coast could only stay hidden for so long. As it was he was out of contact with the rest of the world. He had ways to find out, but it'd give him away and he need all the secrecy and surprise he could have.

He disliked dragging civilians into war, however they were an effective means to bend the enemy to your will. Regardless, the citizens would serve more of a hostage role than much else. Hopefully anyway.

There would be civilian casualties no matter what he did, even after he ordered military targets only. He sighted a sergeant who just exited a building, and gave the signal.

------------------------------

Riocht Eire's coastline

They recieved the signal. Several wolfpacks swarmed into ports, torpedoing any military target and trade ships. All up and down the coasts these attacks repeated at about the same time.

The remaining wolfpacks waited outside the naval bases. They ambushed and delayed all the ships heading to the major ports for defense. The initial shock in each port and base was equivalent, and immensly satisfying.

-------------------------------

Air space above Riocht Eire

A submarine's only true enemy, the one it could not fight back, was the aircraft. What better way to cover a submarine than with aircraft of your own. They had recieved a signal earlier than the snipers or submarines to allow them time to get where they needed to be.

Stealth wings of bombers and fighters dropped out of the clouds at the same signal the snipers and subs recieved. They dropped bombs on the airfields to prevent them from coming to the aid of the navy the subs should now be engaging. The stealth fighters flew cover for the bombers, taking out AA guns and pursuing the aircraft that made it off the ground.

Now, not all the bases could be bombed, as they had not the resources or skill to pull off such a feat. Above the submarines were more stealth fighters, awaiting the inevitable response from other airfields.

------------------------------

Back at Newry

It took about an hour to take the city. Surprise allowed a decent portion of the defense to be dispatched very early. Following that had come door to door street fighting, which the snipers had been trained for, but met a worthy adversary in their line. Snipers fired only to hit, so cover fire was effective while the troops moved up to press the ONS out of the town.

Once the city had been taken, civilians were rounded up and moved to the largest building to be found at about the town's center. 5,000 snipers gaurded them from a distance, their rilfes set to rapid-fire.

The onther 10,000 were posted at intervals in every building, the majority being around the edge to repel liberators.

------------------------------

Dublin

The Deznon troops, though not part of the plan or told of the details, heard the signal as well. They took heart that their allies were in fact acting. They recieved word of reinforcements arriving about 5 miles away. Moral boosted, the forces sallied out to meet their ONS counterparts.

Unfortunatly, moral didn't mean everything and massive losses were recieved. 30,000 of the 50 returned to the city. Their efforts seemed to have little effect on the siege.

Newry

The troops at Newry put up some resistance, but they were too few to be enough, numbering less than a thousand. Some of the riflemen were able to pick off some snipers, but were eventually dispatched themselves. The knights leading the defense were pushed out of the city, along with the remaining forces and Ulstermen that chose to resist.

They fell back to the Mourne Mountains nearby, setting up a make shift base. Eventually command solidified under Knight Brother Seathrun Mac Lochlainn. However, upon reading the dead garrison commander's orders, Seathrun knew they would not receive much help. The Grandmaster's strategy was clear. No one would be coming back to defend Ulster until the dictator forces were crushed.

-----

Dublin, Forward HQ

By this time, Stiofan had reached Dublin. Sir Patrick O'Dwyer brought reports to him as usual, and the fall of Newry caught his eye.

"What do you think of this, brother?" he said to Patrick.

"Newry has fallen? That's one of our larger cities."

"An unfortunate loss, and somewhat intolerable. I'm going to have to step up my attacks."

"You aren't going to at least send forces to Newry?"

"No."

"But why?"

"The report tells that the bulk of this enemy force are snipers, and they are not of the dictator forces. Sending our forces made mostly up of infantry would just be foolish to send against them. Newry will have to wait. But Cork is about to be liberated."

"Cork, milord? Aren't we in Dublin?"

"The majority of our forces protecting the border to Connacht will be sent to Munster. We'll just have to put more pressure on the enemy, more or less. After we've taken Cork and Dublin, believe me, I will lead a force personally to retake Newry."

"Well, I suppose that is only reasonable, given our resources. I don't know how the people are going to take this..."

"This war has to be ended quickly to ensure civilian casualties are minimized."

"I'm sure you know what you're doing, milord. Next time, though, you probably ought to defend the larger cities, for the people's sakes."

"Perhaps... but not doing so might have won us this war and saved more lives in the process..."

-----

Dublin

By noon, forces had reached the city center, near Dublin Castle. Unfortunately, many enemy forces held up in Dublin Castle, and orders were to not bombard such cultural relics. However, the task of clearing the castle would not be too hard for the knights. Rifleman provided covering fire as the knights entered the castle, and the resistors within were easily subdued in close combat. The knights began to scourge the castle for the dictators as fighting raged on in the city.

Artillery had mostly fallen silent, due to too much risk of hitting invalid targets. With reports of the enemy taking Newry in, the ONS began to fortify the outskirts of the city, digging in and facing the artillery outward against possible enemy threats to retake the city.

Around Eire

The naval battles continued to be pitched, and attacks on trade ports caused panic in the populace of those port cities struck.

Air commanders were angered as many expensive fighters were lost on the ground to stealth bombers. They demanded that EMP be used indefinitely until the war was over, but their request was not approved by Ard Ri Stiofan, the only one who could issue such an order. Fighters were thus given more rigorous patrols. Some enemy bombers had been intercepted by patrols as it was; hopefully less would slip through the defenses now that the ONS knew where they were hitting.

It was apparent that the ONS wasn't coming after them. This didn't bode well and Jarn didn't intend on sitting the war in a city, expecialy one filled with citizens who rioted every day, somtimes twice. He gave the citizens 6 gours to gather their belongings and leave.

Once they left, the snipers looted whatever they could, and gathered Irish relics. They weren't savages, and the relics would be returned at the end of the war since they showed great interest in keeping their history alive. Then, the city burned.

Jarn returned to the woods, and moved to the next big city.

-------------------------------

Off the coast

The submarines had pulled back, contented to randomly conduct raids and harass shipping and movement. The fighters returned to base so the subs retreated far underwater when the enemy aircraft came about.

The fighters and bombers, their advantage lost, returned home to Telosan, replaced by the normal air force.

--------------------------------

Dublin, heated conversation between Anthony and John

John: "We can't leave. This is our captial, it would show weakness."

Anthony: "Well we damn well can't stay here John!"

John: "You propose the goverment go into exile? The war's been on for 2 weeks!"

Anthony: "We can't hold up like this."

Messenger: A messenger arrives. "Sirs, sorry to interrupt your discussion, but you've been at it for hours. I need to deliver the news so I may return to my duties."

John: "Fine with me, and I'm sure Anthony agrees." He recieved only a short grunt in reply.

Messenger: "The Telosanti snipers have burned Newry and disappeared again."

John: "This is good." He glanced at Anthony, who was relaxing a bit.

Messenger: "The total casualty count for the Dublin defense force has come in."

John: "Is it bad?" Again, glancing at Anthony, who was now visibly shaking in frustration.

Messenger: "Well, we've lost 20,000. There are however reinfor-" A flash of light followed by a puff of smoke interrupts him. When the smoke clears, a dark red hole has appeared in his chest.

John: "Anthony! What the hell is wrong with you!?!"

Anthony: "God damnit! This is too much! We're leaving, the government is in exile."

John: "You can't do that, I have authority to overrule you." He heard shouts and running feet outside.

Anthony: "You're with me or against me." He pointed the gun at his friend.

John: He heard the steps closer now, he had only a few seconds. "I'm with you, but don't agree with you."

Anthony: "That's all I need." He turns and John jumps on him to wrestle the gun away. Gaurds rush in just in time to see Anthony empty 6 shots into John's head. "You, gaurds! Consul John tried to assasinate me! This poor messenger saved my life at the cost of his. I took down John in self-defense."

Gaurds: "You get some rest, sir. We'll clean up the mess."

Anthony: "I'll be flying out of Dublin tonight. Arrange my flight."

Gaurds: "Of course."

By midnight, all rebel forces in the city had been either captured or killed. Rebel guards had been caught disposing of a body, which was found to be none other than that of the dictator John. News of the ONS victory and the dictator's death was broadcast all about Ireland.

Dublin Castle

Stiofan quickly sent out orders to his troops to seize the moment. Most of the troops still in Ulster and most in Dublin were ordered to make an organized march to the Rock of Cashel, in County Tipperary in Munster. They were to sweep Leinster for enemy forces on the way, but to avoid any major engagements. Fighter craft were assigned to provide intel on any major enemy deployments. Stiofan's plan was to push for Cork and execute the other dictator, hopefully bringing the civil war to an end.

Stiofan's headquarters

As Stiofan shifted through some paperwork that inevitably came with command, Jarn walked in, led by two gaurds.

"Hello, General. I'm going to get straight to the point so I may return to my men and spur them to action. Telosan was persuaded to assist Deznon as a mercanary presence only. John Dezmonz was the driving force behind this, as he was the wiser of the two. Anthony would have kept going without us regardless.

Now, John is dead, and Deznon's leadership has fallen under complete control of Anthony. My assistant, who was near the location of John's death at the time recorded this. I met him a few hours ago. You'll remember you took him prisoner when you overran Dublin."

He pulls out a small camera and plays the recorded video. The Telosanti man had come upon them and begun recording from the begining, likely attracted by the shouting.

"Now recently I was up in Newry, I'm sure you heard of what my men and I did there. When I got word of this, I came down to meet you, watching the video alog the way. Before I got here, I had communicated with Emperor Trekon, who is in full agreement with me.

Not to long ago, I called off all of Telosan's air force, sending the fighters to scout for Anthony and his army. The submarines are now encircling Deznon, set up a blockade. We ask for truce, and offer to assist in bringing down Anthony. Should this not be enough for you to accept, we know something of some value, that could save a good many lives."

Stiofan leaned forward in his chair and raised an eyebrow. "Ah, well, please, have a seat." Stiofan reclined and poured a shot of whiskey for himself and his guest, passing a shot across his desk and gesturing for Jarn to take a seat.

"So it was you Telosanti the entire time? I'll tell you, you gave us a run for our money. I'm inclined to accept your offer. One less enemy means more lives saved, and your assistance should prove valuable in ending this war quickly."

Stiofan took his shot, slammed it to the desk, and poured another.

"However, due to your hostile acts, simply assisting us won't be enough. I want reparations to rebuild Newry and anything looted from the city to be returned. I'm also curious about this valuable knowledge you have. If you have information that can save the lives of my men and my people, please tell me."

"Besides food and water, nothing much was looted. However, anything the city had that was deemed a relic or in some way important to the Irish people was removed before it was burned. The citizens were allowed to take what they could, so really just the structures are lost. To gain a possible ally, Telosan would be happy to repair the city."

"As for the information, you are currently heading for Rock of Cashel. Anthony knows this, and has set an ambush. The place is also so heavily defended by antiaircraft guns, it'd take much better than an ace pilot to survive. They will be hiding in the woods. We can chase them into the open where you can crush them. Our agent woh has gathered this information is Kiel Ar. He will be in position to assasinate Anthony at the most critical part of the battle."

After the relics were returned to the grateful Irish army, the snipers set off, disappearing into the woods only feet past the woodline.

At the Rock of Cashel

Anthony's army sat waiting, the Irish army would come. He knew he'd be able to crush them without much thought. Armor or no armor, 120,000 men was not an easy force to beat. He'd have to be a fool to lose this battle.

While he wished he was on the higher ground, in the castle, his men refused to fight in the sacred place. So he waited in the surrounding woods.

At the Rock of Cashel

The Telosanti snipers snuck into the castle easily, they knew where the Deznon's were and were able to go around them without much fuss.

Now the snipers waited in the castle for Jarn's order to fire upon the unsuspecting dictator forces.

After quick communications with Stiofan, Jarn turned to the window. The window was originally made for a bowman to shoot, but it would serve his purposes. He lined up his sight on an unsuspecting soldier, knowing that 15,000 other men throughout the castle, crowing at the windows, doors, and battlements, would be doing the same. He fired, and almost instantly, the loud crash of thousands of guns shattered the silent peace of the land.

With the thunderous sound of snipers from the castle, Stiofan had his cue.

He had hidden about 50,000 of his men throughout the woods near the Deznons, while about 50,000 others were in open field, taking formation to block any possible retreat by the Deznons. Upon seeing the Deznons foolishly push for the castle, Stiofan gave the order to unleash hell. Both of his armies moved in to crush the enemy.

Soon enough the Deznon army was trapped between the Rock of Cashel laden with snipers and two greatly superior armies. All hope for them was lost.

Anthony Dezmonz's army

Kiel Ar wandered about the relativly safe interior of the army. He had his cue was setting off on yet another assasination mission. He, being the Telosanti military ambassabor to Anthony, could wander unobstructed.

As far as he knew, and he knew much of what was happening, the Deznonians had charged the castle when his brethren opened up on them. Then the Irish had charged right into the foray. While this was strategicaly sound, they couldn't know of the Deznon reinforcments arriving. Being thus reinforced, Anthony's 180,000 men were in two main divisions. One being the 120,000 original still rushing the castle, the other being the 60,000 reinforcments who had run into the ONS men in position to prevent escape.

He'd have to hurry to complete the job in time. As they reached the castle walls he found Anthony.

Most of the riflemen and sergeant of the ONS forces were directed to fight off the enemy reinforcements. A double line of sergeants was posted in front to defend the formations of rifleman, who fired volleys at the enemy. Other unused sergeants took up formations to the flanks of this formation, slowly advancing towards the enemy.

The original enemy army was left to Stiofan and his knights, who were making quick work of those who turned to face them. Most were rushing for the Rock of Cashel, many being gunned down by snipers. However, they had been able to reach the gates of the castle, and were preparing to smash them down.

Rock of Cashel

As the Telosanti snipers and fired down on the Deznons, they reached the walls of the castle. Seconds later, the doors were down and they started streaming into the structure. As they rounded the first corner, they were met by a wall of bullets. The few on the end of the long line of snipers ducked behind the barricades that were set up in anticipation of this, and fired into the crowd at full automatic. Several others came to thier aid, but most stayed put, firing into the forces outside.
"Kiel better hurry, or he'll be scrubbing toilets for the rest of his life."

---------------------------------------

Kiel Ar and Anthony Dezmonz

"Sir! May I have a word with you?!"

"What do you want?!?! I'm trying to win a war here!"

Kiel's fingers curled around the dagger at his waist, hidden by his baggy shirt. As he spoke, he couldn't help but smile, "I have some information that may be of some assistance."

"Well then tell, but be quick. I must make sure your blasted rebel friends never make it out of that castle."

Anger flushed his face, "Well, before they became rebels, they tasked me with an assignment that may be useful for you to know."

"What was it?"

He pulled the knife from his belt and smiled at Anthony's horror as he said, "Killing you..."

"Are you mad?! You're surrounded by my army! You can't hope to survive! Guards!"

"Quit your crying. You gaurds can't hear you, they're sleeping soundly." At this he threw the knife with as much strength as he could muster. He hit Anthony dead in the stomach.

Even through the immense pain he was experiencing, Anthony got up and started to run. "Men! Men! You emperor is under attack!"

"Why are you not dying?!" He pulled a pistol and shot him 4 times. Still, Anthony tried to crawl away.

"What the hell?" 2 more shots, and Anthony collapsed.

"Finally." As he went over to him to search him for any potentialy vauluable information, Anthony thrashed about.

"This is ridiculous!" Kiel shouted as he emptied the remaining shots in his pistol into Anthony's head. At last, the dictator lay still.

Kiel used Anthony's phone and called the Deznon military leaders at the Rock of Cashel. With each one, he delivered the message, "Your dictator is dead", and hung up. Now, he could head out.

-------------------------------

Rock of Cashel

"Men! Your emperor is dead! Save yourselves, and may god have mercy on us!"

After the annonymous soldier shouted this, complete and total pandamonium ensued. Suddenly, 100,000 men wished to flee the field at once. Men were trampled if they tripped, many more were shot down by the ONS forces, who'd come back and plunged straight into their midst.

The snipers ran behind the army, mowing them down without aiming, herding them like cattle. Kiel Ar walked calmly out to met them, and then joined them in shooting the fleeing men.

Not all fled, though. Many dozens of men formed pockets of resistance, covering their friends, or still fighting on regardless. They proved dangerous, but were quickly taken down as they drew fire from every angle of the field.

Jarn ran into Stiofan along the way. "Ever have a victory like this? Chasing down the enemy like rabbits?"

"Those enemies are still my citizens. They must be spared, not slaughtered. They are leaderless and broken. My men already have orders to take them prisoner. Your men have done their part in full already. Thanks to our efforts here, this war is ended."

The routing forces around the castle were easily taken prisoner by the knights, and the reinforcements scattered likely returning to their homes.

-----

News of the victory was broadcast around Ireland. With the dictators dead and their armies defeated, the resistance against the High King had ended. The prisoners were soon released back to their homes, and the process of annexation and rebuilding began.

However, Stiofan was soon contacted by the Telosanti once more. It seems they wanted more for their work than a simple truce...

"While we did flip sides, we helped end the war and saved many lives with our intelligence," Jarn was saying, "We don't request much. We ask for the county of Wexford to set up bases. You would still have control of the area, but Telosan would have a presence there both militarily and politicaly."

"Well, I suppose it would be best to accept your request. You have helped the Irish people, and I would rather end this affair with an ally rather than a foe. Consider it done."

The men shook hands and parted ways.
