As usual the Marslavan Soldier had been dragged into a war of which he couldn't care less and was now fighting on what he perceived to be the wrong side and the worst was that he fought in both the sides of this war . If the morale was low in the Baltic front, it was different in the Marslavan motherland, where a first offensive made by Imperial units to Plzen had been luckly stopped by the garrison of Plzen : when the Imperial tanks tried to cross the Elbe river, they were stopped by the Marslavan artillery and the the Engineers Corp destroyed all the bridges on the Elbe . In the Baltic the Marslavan troops fought alongside with the other Dominion forces, but their lack of enthusiasm for the Dominion Cause didn't make them zealous soldiers, hungry, freezed by the cold winter, they tryed merely to survive . However the sense of duty was now too strong and the desertions had ceased : the national honor had to be defended . OOC : just to remember that i am still here |

OOC- We're in stalemate, officially. I have assumed that due to that, a temporary ceasefire is currently in place. The focus of the war has moved to the middle east in anycase. |

After one year of pratical inactivity the Marslavan command of the IXth Army, under the command of general Jojnovic had finally obtained the authorisation to strike a last definitive blow to the remaining resistance in Europe . Only Mircania stood as an operative force in Europe and yet the resistance was destinated to cease . The General Jojnovic and the Commander of the Vth Army Corp, the Artillery General Vladislav Veliki, stood behind the formidable mass of cannons that was in front of them . More than a half of the formidable Marslavan fire force had been concentrated in a small space which was fifteen kilometers wide . - What is the current situation of the troops ? - Asked the general Jojnovic to his colleague - One milion troops are concentrated here and the bombing will provide them enough cover to allow them to arrive until the bunkers - he deployed a map on a table and continued to explain - The enemy fortifications are less dense in the area of Bydgoszcz and we will exploit this relative weakness to push this part of the front and aggress the other fortifications from their back . - - Good - sayd the General Jojnovic . His ordonnance officer approached him bringing a telephone, Jojnovic called his command and ordered to open a full fire over the whole front . Suddentely the whole sky was covered by the smoke of the explosions and the sound of the detonations . Rockets flow high over the horizont and ended on the grey ciment of the bunkers that faced more than one milion men, in full expectative . The bombing continued and the noise made by the 220 mm cannons and the rockets was soon joined by the roars of the 400 mm campal cannons . The ground was devastated, all around the bunkers the soil was full of craters and the bunkers of the first line were devastated . Finally the general Jojnovic sent the order of advance to the attacking forces . First came the heavy tanks, the FT-10 armed with flame throwers, which started to clean the bunkers . The Mircanians didn't however cede, they fought bravely even where their fortifications were devastated ; bravely charging against the fire of the cannons and the machineguns, they held against the tanks . Then came the Special Forces, the Praetorian Guard of the Europian Dominion, they infiltrated in the undergrounds of the devastated bunkers and fought for hours in the intricate tunnels, where the Mircanians were barricated . The darkness of the underground was brightened by the lights of machineguns and the explosions of hand grenades, but the Special Forces had to be relieved by the Ducal Guard . Looking full of despise at the Special Forces, the Ducal Guards finally pushed the Mircanians out of the undergrounds and surrounded the survivors of the first line . A second bombing, against the second line, followed and for one entire hour the second line was bombed by the campal cannons and the rockets ; again came the FT-10 and the infantries . The entire Marslavan force stormed over the second and the third lines and again suffered intense fightings against the Mircanian soldiers . A lot of men fell from both the sides, but the Marslavan offensive wasn't yet stopped and the bunkers proved ineffective in stopping the tanks . Finally the Marslavan troops didn't attack the undergrounds of the bunkers and continued their advance leaving the barricated Mircanian soldiers in their undergounds, waiting an attack that wouldn't come . The fourth line fell too, after an attempt of counteroffensive which stopped the Marslavan armies for two bloody hours . After few hours the Marslavan tanks destroyed the last line of bunkers and stormed on the Polish plains . Meanwhile the breach in the Mircanian fortifications enlarged dangerously and the Mircanian command, to avoy the encirclement of the entire army, ordered the withdraw of the brave defenders of the bunkers . However some Mircanian units continued to hold in their bunkers for weeks before being forced to evacuate them by the end of the ammunition reserve . After the fall of the fortifications milions of men enter the plais of Mircania and occupied the cities : at the end the troops reached Gdansk after three months of fighting . The nature of the Polish territory wasn't favourable to the defense and the Mircanians were forced to withdraw, although they fought for each lost kilometer . One week later the Mircanian government evacuated Gdansk and the mayor of the Mircanian capital went to the tent of general Veliki to present the surrender of Gdansk . The city had been totally destroyed by the fire of missiles and by the devastating campal batteries, but also the Marslavan army was considerably proved by five months of non stop fighting . Victory Parade "Triumphal " entrance of Marslavan troops in Gdansk In the 12th of August the military command of Marslava entered the city and was " welcomed " by the hungry and tired population of Gdansk . The IXth Army commander issued the following proclame : " Citizens of Mircania, your useless and corrupt life of before has just ended and you will now live under a new promising uthopy where a new world will rise . Any person found in possession of weapons or judged to be dangerous by the military authorities will be shot sur le champ Enjoy your new lives, citizens of Mircania ." The Marslavan Soldiers deserved their lovely nickname of " Bastards of the Baltic " . Edited by Alberto, Jan 29 2009, 03:05 PM.

When the reports came in of renewed attacks by Marslavan units, the Menhadien air force quickly responded. Fighters swept the sky clean of enemy planes, while bombers and ground attack planes hit bases and depots. These attacks where meant to slow down the Marslavan units, and hopefully hurt their war machine. OOC: Just a quick raid, feel free to rp the damage, but something serious. |

OOC- You'll be taking serious damage yourself, of course. IC- The frontline bases (which was as far as the enemy was able to get before being too damaged to continue on) that were hit suffered massive structual damage as munnitions cooked off, making the bases in question dangerous to use without repairs. However, the facilities in question were staffed by skeleton crews due to the recent advance. It would add a week to the time table, but otherwise, their victory was sealed. OOC- Guys, Marslava was just cleaning up a few loose ends. The European campaign hasn't (re)started just yet. If you want sporadic fighting, thats fine, but no one takes "serious" damage.... |

OOC: This front of the war picking up again? IC: Realizing that the front dissecting Mircania and the Polish Federation was finally crumbling under the might of the Marslavan forces Swiss-Roman commanders had ordered that Porcu's forces currently committed to the battle slowly begin a withdraw West towards Germany while the majority of units were ordered to quickly mobilize and set up new positions. For the first time mobile and usually non-mobile Tesla cannons and towers were utilized during the Marslavan advance with varied success. The mobile systems still had not been perfected but scored a few hits while the towers, which could be moved with a mobile Tesla station, were much more successful. For now, however, the tide of the war had shifted quite favorably to the Dominion and it would remain to be seen if it would stay that way... |

OOC: I'm not dead, yet. I think many of you wanted me to leave. Maybe I'll leave but I wanna fight my last struggle until the end. Next time, if you wanna negotiate my leave tell me and not Alberto. I developed the ieds in game at the start of the war so this is not godmod. if it's real 10 ic years passed since the beginning of the war, 4000 ied is a realistic number. IC: The scenario was one of the worst the Mircanian govenment ever faced. All available troops had been withdrew to defend the Danzican Wall, the last series of fortifications around the capital, Danzig. It was about to resist till the end. The end was close and nothng could stop it or prevent it. The only thing Mircanian generals could do was to kill as many enemies as possible in one sigle strike. At 6:00 president Miller choose the last of the alternatives. He ordered to open the "football" briefcase with the launch codes and gave the ultimate order. In the last years of cease-fire and enemy inactivity in that part of frontline, Mircania was able to produce thousands of new IEDs, the top-secret weapons of mass destruction capable of igniting all the air and so everything in a range of more than 5 kilometers "ground zero". Since the start of the war and the production of the first IEDs, now Mircania had a full arsenal of 4000 operative warheads. When the order was given IED detonators were unblocked and the warheads were mounted on cruise missiles and plane bombs. At 6:45 at least 150 fighter-bombers of the Mircanian air force were in the air and the launch silos of the danzican wall were operative. Every plane had 4 IEDs whose targets were the main formations of dominion divisions, at least one ied for enemy division while the ground-based IED missiles' targets were the main communication and transport routes of the dominion in the region and the main towns controlled and occupied by the dominion in all marslava. At 6:50 final order was given and all IED were launched. Many of the ones launched by jets hit dominion troops destroying everything in a range of 5 kilometers from the explosions. The first line of the Marslavan army was annihilated and also the second and the third line had suffered heavy damage. The other 3000 ieds were too many to be all shot down by enemy anti-air units and SAMs and hit many of their targets. 62 of them were launched on Prague and over 30 of them hit the city and the outskirts A lot of death was everywhere. It was the end of Mircania, but also of its enemies Edited by Leonidas91, Jan 30 2009, 09:00 AM.

The damages were huge and hundreds of thousands of soldiers disappeared in just few seconds . A great victory has been followed by a huge loss : Prague was devastated and with this action was destroyed one of the most beautiful cities of Europe . One milion soldiers died along with three milions civilians, this had been an act of desperation and a huge war crime, equivalent to a genocide . All the infrastructures had been destroyed and the main towns were devastated . It would be followed by another : already the angry minds of Marslavan officers conceived a another terrible genocide whose the victims would be now the Mircanians . Communique of the Ducal General Command The crimes perpetrated by the Mircanians shall be punished : for every dead Marslavan shall be killed ten Mircanians . No city in Mircania shall remain intact, no Mircanian has to survive . When the general Jojnovic dictated the order he calmly drunk his cup of coffee, thinking with satisfaction at the other slaughter that was going to start out of there, in Gdansk and all the Mircanian cities . Innocents were going to pay for the lives of other innocents . |

OOC- :o  All I was told was that you had left, and generally I take people's word on statements like that. Believe me, I would have PM'd you about this if I knew you were still about. IC- The recent slight uptick in combat from the stalemate that had been going on for the last few years didn't worry Field Marshal Volehr, the commander of the Dominion's forces in Europe, until he had recieved reports that one million men had been destroyed by the enemy in Mircania, just as General Jojnovic's forces were overrunning the Poland Sector as a whole. While this attack had significantly damaged the 9th Army, it did so at the cost of Mircania's air capability, something that the Dominion Air Force, which was virtually unaffected by the IED strike, took full advantage of. Within a day of the attack, the Dominion had established air superiority throughout the sector. Any airfields still under enemy control were quickly strafed with significant firepower. While the enemy strike delayed the advance by an as yet undetermined time period, the Dominion-secured airspace ensured that the Mircanian Army would not be able to move past its defensive wall near Danzig. Elements of the 8th Army were already being moved in to make up for losses the 9th Army had endured. Volehr would later call the Zapht Centre to see about reinforcements, though with seven armies tied up in the middle east, he was not entirely confident that he would be listened to. The enemy gamble had paid off...but they would soon learn at what price. |

OOC : Leonidas had rally told me that he was leaving, when I told him that his state was going to be invaded, well he changed his mind and came back kicking some asses . I am sorry for the problems that could be created by my recent actions and the misunderstanding of Leonida's words . He is indeed going to leave, but only after having kicked some asses . IC : The slaughter of milions of Marslavan was followed by the equal massacre of milions of Mircanian citizens . In the occupied Mircania the surviving locals ( the ones which hadn't been killed by the IEDs launched by their criminal government ) the Marslavan survivors and the reinforcements were ordered to kill any Mircanian adult which was found . The whole Marslavan army showed an insane commitment in executing the order and every Mircanian city saw the slaughter of the local population . This war had assumed insane characteristics . The Marslavan Army controled the whole Mircania except Danzig, however its ancient strenght was gone and at least six months would have been necessary to recover the losses and start any offensive . For now the remaining Marslavan troops remained in front of Danzig and waited that the reinforcements arrived . In Marslava mass concription was instituted to replace the fallen soldiers . |

As the fighting broke out again momentarily in the Baltic, Army Group D quietly annexed Swiss Nag Ehgoeg, resistance crumbling as soon as the Dominion crossed their borders. Provinces in eastern Pascoag were quietly negotiating with the nearby Amishland Protectorate as well. |

The war had costed the lives of four milions soldiers and twenty milions of civilians, Prague had been devastated and Mircania was now nothing more than a desert . It was said that the total annihilation of the Mircanian people had to be an example to the world and that the responsibles of the death of more than five milions of civilians had to be punished . We can say that the Marslavan military mantained its promesses of destruction : Danzig, the industrial and working city capital of the small state of Mircania, was no more than ruins, Gdynia laid in the middle of a radioactive area, the ground was full of bodies of civilians. Slaughter after slaughter the Marslavan army destroyed the last pockets of resistance, killed the last civilians, burnt the last proofs of the existance of Mircania . When all this ended, everybody realised the monstruosity of his acts: Marslava had become a pariah, more than ever linked to the fortunes of the Dominion . In the plains of Poland, the Marslavan tanks stood still, the guns were finally silenced and with great stupefaction the soldiers saw that flowers started to grow near the trenches and that the sun re-appeared . Spring had started . |
