OOC: The various pirates of the Lambda League will begin raiding commercial shipping, cruise ships and private ships everywhere at sea, but in particular in the Indian and Pacific Oceans. All such raids shall be posted here. If you have a desire to be raided, you may start that here as well, otherwise the raiding will be fairly random against all non-Dominion-flagged vessels. We will avoid conflicts with military ships and fleets. If you absolutely, completely and totally don't want to be attacked let me know via PM, otherwise everyone is fair game!

OOC:

I posted this in Africa. It's not really a full military engagement, but just a realistic response a navy would have when other ships call for help during an attack. I'm not going to fully engage the pirates or anything, but this style of response would be evoked from such actions.

In the straights of Tasmania a 45 foot sailboat sailing under an Emangu charter was three days out orf Sidney. It appeared to be a leasure cruise chartered for two couples, Mr. Jan Houseman and his wife, Jewel, and Mr. David Bookman and his wife, Bunny. In addition to the four chartered passengers there was a crew of five. At 2:43 in the afternoon they spotted a small craft approaching them from the Northeast. Not concerned about anything, they continued on their course.

Suddenly, as the small craft got very close, they heard gunshots, and a voice on a loudspeaker shouted, "Drop sail. Drop sail or we will sink your ship. Drop sail, we are going to board you." The captain looked at his mate, then they both looked back at the craft and saw the pilot pointing toward the horizon in front of them. The captain pulled out his spy glass and saw clearly a destroyer with multiple deck guns aimed his way. It was flying a black flag.

The captain ordered his mates to drop sails as Mr. Houseman and his wife rushed toward the helm out of curiosity. Mr. Bookman was below deck with one of the other sailors opening the arms locker and getting several fully automatic rifles out and loading them.

As the charter lay dead in the water, the small craft (like a PT boat) pulled up along side and twelve armed men rushed on board. The captain and everyone except Bookman and the lone mate stayed below deck. "What mean you by this act?" asked the captain of the charter.

"Shut up," said a tall man dressed in black. "We're just going to search your vessel for contraband."

"Under who's authority?" asked the captain.

"Under my authority." said the tall man, and he pointed a .45 cal. Colt pistol at the captain and pulled the trigger, dropping the captain with half his head missing. "Anyone else have any questions?"

At that exact moment the mate and Bookman rushed the deck and started opening fire with their guns. Before they got three rounds off each they were dropped like flies by the other sailors from the small craft.

One of the sailors went below while the rest watched the shivering crew and the Housemans. He came up moments later with an histerical Mrs. Bookman, pushing her before him. "Lookie what I found, Capt'n!" said the man from below.

The tall man, now identified as Capt'n said, "Gag her and tie her up, and toss her in the boat! We'll have some fun tonight!"

As the mate was tieing her up, he said, "Lots of Ammo below. Some big stuff too, like for 50mm's. I think these mates are planning on supplying rebels, is what I think."

The Capt'n pointed to five of the men, "Begin off-loading the contraband boys, and blow the safe. I smell money here."

Then he looked at the Housemans. "Jaimie, Took, grab that land lubber and bring him here." Two men took Houseman by the arms, hit his wife with a rifle butt because she kept on klinging to him, and stood him in front of the Capt'n.

"Now, see here, sir.......", started Houseman, but before he could say another word the Capt'n pulled out a cutlass from behind him and sliced off Houseman's head, cleanly. The head hit the ground with its eyes wide open in a look of complete surprise. The Capt'n just kicked it overboard, and the men holding the torso threw that overboard as well.

The remaining sailors were grabbed by the men and brought before the capt'n shaking, and each had their head removed nicely. When the only one left was the young cook's assistant, the Capt'n said, "Take this pretty lad and that lass and tie them tight, and bring them on board. Some of the lads have a taste for gander as well as goose!" The whole crew laughed, the safe blew, jewels and money were taken, the ammo discovered stowed and the ship sunk to the bottom. No one would know what happened here but the harbor master could guess when the sailboat never comes back from its charter.
