I'm just curious. The thread about the sword got me thinking. How big are your weapon collections and what do they consist of?

My personal collection consists of a 1901 Mosin-Nagant Infantry Rifle (the longest kind, made in Sestroretsk, still with undefaced Imperial markings), a 1944 Mosin-Nagant Carbine, that Swedish Mercenary Sword that I've shown before, a replica Greek general's sword (akin to a gladius), a shoddy wakazashi (but a present from my best friend), a Boonie knife, a Greek hunting knife, a Roman pugio, a Mauser bayonet, an AK-47 bayonet, a mini Kukri knife, and three pocket knives.

This collection perils in comparison to my father's. Just take a look at my avatar. That is but a fraction of the swords he owns (I'd say he has around 50). He owns around the same amount of knives and daggers, around a dozen black powder revolvers, one 54 cal black powder rifle, two AK-47 rifles (one with a folding stock), one SKS rifle, one coach gun (a double-barreled shotgun), and then an amount of double-action revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.

In addition, my brother owns an SKS, a Saiga 442 (basically an AK shotgun), and a pump-action shotgun (20 gauge, 4 shells). He also has an amount of knives.

There's probably extraneous weapons I haven't accounted for.

EDIT: Yep. I completely forgot about the several assorted axes, maces, the morning star (a spiked flail, NOT a spiked mace like some would have you believe), and the spears.

And for that matter, what about armor, guys? We have five suits (one mine, one my brother's), one being full chainmail (look in my profile picture for that one. His name is Bob), three being transitional plate (1300s, my Dad's is named Stan), and one suit of full Gothic plate armor (named Aloicius). Yes, we name our suits of armor. We prop them up about the house on stands. Only Bob stands right now, though.

My collection (which is called my Panoply):

Browning P-35 manufactured in 1977. However I bought it unused and in mint condition this summer.

The engraved text on the slide says "Browning Arms Company, Morgan Utah & Montreal PQ, Made in Belgium"

5 inch Switchblade.

So far my panoply humbly consists of only these two items but I am seeking to acquire bullet-proof clothing, Glock 19 (or even better, Glock 18), AK-47 (preferably fully automatic), any other fully automatic rifles I can get my hands on, and Winchester 1300 shotgun.

Metal bowling grip (good for tiger claw).

Same for a bullet resistant vest. Really. As soon as I finish.

Yeah! I met the guy at a party and he was going to Africa for the last time this year. When he gets back he's going to give me a deal on it!

I'm not going to comment on my personal collection, but I will refer you all to this interesting website: http://www.thehomegunsmith.com/

I may have linked to it on here somewhere before, but it's worth linking to again.

Excellent link. That will definitely be useful for the impending apocalypse and post-apocalypse.

For the post-apocalypse I would highly recommend for everyone Glocks and Kalashnikovs as these are two series of virtually indestructible firearms and will be utterly reliable in any situation, including the downfall of civilization and shortage of the protective machine lubricant that other firearms are so dependent upon.

Do you guys want to split 12 pounds, download the schematics, and share them with each other?

Stupid DC laws still won't allow me to purchase a gun, despite the Supreme Court ruling, but I am now permitted to own one [goddamn loopholes]. And most states wont sell to anyone under 21.

Same here. I had a little laugh.

Reminded me of my friend's two 20 mm bullets on display on his window sill. Ha.

I like Nag's collection! To be fair, most of my weapons aren't with me. Just the three pocket knives, a cheese grater, and some really sharp pens?

Oh yes! And fists. (Kudos)

The cheese grater is for doing lines of nutmeg.

I know that feeling exactly. While most people couldn't wait to get drunk on their 21st birthday I couldn't wait to buy handguns.

Arent you from Pennsylvania? You should be able to buy a rifle or shotgun at age 18 or lower, though not handguns.

Not in Lower Merion Township.

You're not even allowed to own a BB gun there.

Thankfully, I found out that crossbows are perfectly legal.

And that the gun man had free schematics for making an air-powered crossbow.

And I shall build one.

And it will be glorious.

My guns can wait.

Nice, glad it worked out for you. Increasing one's armory is truly a never ending process. When you have a gun, get a crossbow. When you have a crossbow, get a gun. Repeat.

I will inform you of my success or failure.

If all goes well, I will raise my army soon enough.

You're all invited.

I've also got the schematics for a home-made 12-gauge one shot pistol.

I may give that a try if this one goes well.

The zombies will perish.
