Posted Image Close Election Expected Anti-Federalist incumbent hopes for large turnout Posted Image As the New Indigenous Worker's Party collapsed and eventually merged with the Proletariat Party the momentum for the Anti-Federalist party in Swiss-Roman Polynesia has only picked up, particularly in the capital of Singapore. After a poor showing during last gubernatorial elections the NIWP (New Indigenous Worker's Party) virtually collapsed, its fan base disappeared, and its support melted away. Despite officially merging with the Proletariat Party there has not been much of an upswing as many individuals have turned there support in the direction of Goh Chok Tong. Some political analysts predict that after these elections Polynesia will resemble Porcu, only the Federalist, Anti-Federalist, and Centrist parties will exist. Goh Chok Tong - Will maintain strong ties to fellow Shanghai Pact members - Argues that his social policies have worked well, unemployment is low and Swiss-Roman Pound is high - Educational reform has become highlight of campaign Publius Sergius - Personal endorsement of Nixon - Like Pinoy Republic is highly concerned with the World Military Dominion - Wishes to expand renewable resources within Swiss-Roman Polynesia - Wants to eliminate excess profits tax Count Bart Meijer - Agrees with Sergius' energy plans, but doesn't go far enough - Wishes to use federal grants to pursue alternative energy solutions as well as mandate better fuel efficiency for vehicles - Also supports strong Shanghai Pact - Given title of Count by King Julius Maxentius III of Porcu because of long service with the VOC Gao Kong - Mimics Proletariat platforms in West Afrika and Brasilias - Complete independence from Porcu - Would like to pull out of the Shanghai Pact, but will leave the decision to a referendum |

Posted Image Sergius Dethrones Tong Hours after election results Singapore is abruptly seized and taken over by Dominion forces Posted Image Much like the gubernatorial election in Swiss-Roman Brasilias the election in Polynesia was one which was finally decided in a run-off election and once again Federalists can claim victory in Swiss-Roman Polynesia after a bitter defeat last election. This one was quickly marred as well, however, as just a few short hours after the election results were official Dominion troops poured over into the island of Singapore and took command of the entire island. Details are still being sorted out and the PBC at this time does not have any more details to give regarding the situation of Governor Sergius or any of the other provincial senators. Shortly afterward President Richard Nixon provided a strong verbal attack but has yet to deploy any forces to the region. |
