No, I'm not quoting Billy V. Koen, I'm posting from my new (and newly-hacked) laptop, an Asus Eee PC. The OS it ships with is god-awful, so I managed to hack Ubuntu onto it =).

I think it's assume that users will change the OS when people get it

I've considered getting one, but I'd miss my beast of an HP DV9500

Still like my MacBook.

I'd consider getting an MSI Wind though. The Eee has so many fucking models it's hard to tell which one to get.

Those have been going defective on an insanely large scale. My 8400 has gone by the wayside lately >_>

Oh yeah, the hardware in a mac is typically the same as the hardware in a Windows system.

Just sayin'

If you guys ever replace your video cards, can I have the olds ones? I've been stuck on my 6600 for ages.

Yeah, I've been playing Black & White 2, and it's constantly slowing down and lagging, even on the lowest video settings. It's really pissing me off.

Pssh, got a 9600 GX2 on my god box. Even that has been having some issues, though. A couple of times this weekend it failed to put out a signal at all, had to cold-restart. Been fine for two days, so we'll see, but if this keeps up, I'm switching to ATI.

Couldn't be happier with the Eee, though. Got the 901 running linux, for whoevver was asking about the models. Only beef I have is that my thumb keeps tapping the touchpad as I type an screwing me up.
